Smartsheet is an enterprise platform for dynamic work. It helps organizations align people and technology to manage and automate processes across departments and use cases.

What languages does Smartsheet support?

Smartsheet supports 8 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and others.

What company sizes and industries is Smartsheet the best fit for?

Smartsheet’s strongest fit appears across small, mid-market, and enterprise organizations, with positive use spanning several industries.

  • Mid-market: Organizations with 51–1,000 employees, with use across construction, healthcare, and financial services.
  • Enterprise: Organizations with more than 1,000 employees, including users in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and information technology.

What customer support options does Smartsheet provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Smartsheet support includes self-service resources, email/help desk, and chat. The experience varies: users find learning resources and help useful, while others describe slow responses or difficulty getting clear, effective assistance.

What is the experience like for teams switching to Smartsheet from another tool?

Switching to Smartsheet is often about bringing project work, updates, and collaboration into one shared system instead of relying on separate spreadsheets, email, or fragmented tools. Users describe moving from Excel and Microsoft project tools, Google-based tools, and other project or work-management platforms; they value better visibility, online collaboration, automation, and flexibility, though the transition can involve learning the platform and adapting existing data or workflows.

What tools and platforms does Smartsheet integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

Smartsheet offers 102 integrations, helping teams connect project information with familiar collaboration, office, and reporting tools.
  • Office and file collaboration: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Box, and Google Workspace.
  • Project coordination: Jira, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Reporting and analytics: Power BI.
In daily use, these connections can keep project plans, team communications, and reporting closer together, reducing the need to move between tools or manually recreate updates.

What features or capabilities could make Smartsheet even more useful?

Smartsheet could be more useful with improvements to formula work, complex-sheet performance, and the flexibility of reports and dashboards.
  • Make formulas more capable and easier to build, particularly for teams accustomed to spreadsheet functions.
  • Improve speed and responsiveness when working with large sheets and linked data.
  • Add more control over dashboard visuals, charts, and report formatting.
  • Make advanced workflow setup and automation more flexible and straightforward.

How useful do Smartsheet users find its AI features in everyday use?

Smartsheet’s AI is useful for some routine tasks, but its value varies and the results may need review. Users describe using AI to help with formulas, summaries, and creating or organizing work; others find it basic, inconsistent, or not yet dependable for more complex tasks.

"Smartsheet has been great to use. It's an enjoyable user experience overall."
5/5
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

The ease of use is best. Friendly interface makes it nice to use and I like how it is applicable for so many scenarios. I don't run into bugs and there hasn't been any times that the software has made me truly frustrated. The updated UI is also a welcomed refresh. Looks much better. What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

The form creation process could be a little smoother. It's already a good system, but it's a hassle that if you have to create a new section on the form, you have to go back to the sheet and rearrange the columns. If there was a way that these worked more in harmony that would be preferable. It would also be nice if the dynamic view was more built into the system and not so external. One of my biggest feature requests has to do with MacOS and iOS. Having a dedicated desktop application for MacOS would be amazing! Also an iPad app that's a little more robust would be great. Really utilizing the full power of the operating systems would be excellent. For example, having a widget for the iPad/iPhone to monitor certain reports, sheets, requests, etc. Being able to approve automated requests from push alerts on your phone, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible and Reliable for Operational Work"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

What I like most about Smartsheet is the flexibility. I can use it for operational tracking, planning, reporting and follow-up actions in one place. It is easy to share updates with the team, assign responsibilities and keep deadlines visible. I also like that it can replace several separate Excel trackers and make the overall workflow much more transparent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

Some of the more advanced features are not always intuitive at first, especially when working with complex formulas, automations or reporting. It can take some time to understand how everything connects. For certain detailed calculations, Excel can still feel faster and more flexible. I would also appreciate simpler setup options for more advanced workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smartsheet: Scalable Project Automation in a Familiar Grid Interface"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

Smartsheet perfectly bridges the gap between traditional spreadsheets and complex project management software. It keeps the familiar, intuitive grid interface that our team already knows how to use, while layering in powerful project automation, conditional formatting, and interactive Gantt charts. The ability to seamlessly assign line items to team members and document all specific feedback directly in the row-level chat has drastically reduced internal email clutter. We can tag users instantly, sending critical updates directly to their email so nothing falls through the cracks. It handles everything from data tracking to massive product rollouts with incredible scalability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

While the platform is incredibly powerful, the learning curve can be a bit steep for team members who are unfamiliar with advanced sheet formulas or workflows. Occasionally, managing very large sheets with complex nested cross-sheet formulas can experience slight lag times, but these instances are rare and usually resolved by archiving older data or structuring workspaces more efficiently. "Endless Automation and Centralised Workflows That Boost Team Collaboration"
5/5
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

The endless automation possibilities and the ability to have our entire team working together in one place. We can build custom workflows to suit how our business operates, automate repetitive tasks, send notifications and keep everyone up to date without constantly chasing information. It's incredibly flexible, and we're always finding new ways to use it to make our processes more efficient. Having everything centralised has made a big difference to how our team works together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

We'd love to see an easier way to migrate our existing data from the US servers to the Australian servers without having to rebuild everything. Also, loading times when opening sheets can sometimes be a little slow, particularly with larger sheets. Improving these two areas would make an already great platform even better. "Smartsheet Makes Release Planning Easy with Gantt, Dependencies, and Jira Links"
5/5
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

What I like best about Smartsheet is that it’s as easy as a spreadsheet but works as a real project planning tool. I use it as the main plan for our product releases. The Gantt view, dependencies and automatic date changes save a lot of manual work: when one task moves, the tasks after it move with it, so the timeline stays accurate. Parent and child rows make it easy to break a large release into phases and tasks while still seeing overall % complete at the top. I also like that I can add a Jira ID column to link plan items to our Jira tickets, so the team can move between the plan and the detailed work. RYG status symbols and formulas make it quick to spot risks and share a clear status with stakeholders. Stakeholders find it easy to read, even if they don’t use project tools every day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

The main thing I dislike is that some features take time to learn and don’t always work the way you expect. When dependencies are turned on, start and end dates become calculated, so you can’t edit dates on later tasks directly. You have to change the first task and let the dates update down the chain, and that confuses new users. Small handoff tasks set to “1d” can also stretch the schedule more than expected, so I have to use hours instead. Some actions are only possible in the screen, not through the API or automation. Examples are deleting a column that already has data and setting conditional colour formatting. For a team that wants to automate plan updates, these limits mean extra manual work. Larger sheets with many rows and formulas can also feel slow at times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Interactive, Intuitive Spreadsheets with Brilliant Smartsheet Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

The platform's interactive and intuitive design makes it a pleasure to use. It enables you to build sophisticated spreadsheets with impressive performance, providing genuine value across a wide range of tasks, from statistical analysis and financial modelling to much more. The support from Smartsheet is brilliant, and they run free online training to help you get the most out of the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

Sometimes I struggle to use certain features because they’re quite advanced. However, there’s enough support and training available to help me learn what I need in order to achieve my goal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Smartsheet Workflows That Streamline Approvals and Boost Visibility"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

Smartsheet's biggest benefit for me is its flexibility and ability to streamline processes that would otherwise require a lot of manual work. I regularly use sheets, reports, formulas and automated workflows to manage approvals, track outstanding items, monitor deadlines and improve visibility across different processes.

I particularly value being able to customise sheets to suit our business needs, link information across sheets, and create reports that bring relevant information together in one place. Automated reminders and approval workflows help reduce follow-ups and ensure that tasks are completed by the right people. I have also found Smartsheet useful for creating standardised processes, improving accountability and maintaining a clear audit trail.

Overall, Smartsheet helps me organise information more efficiently, reduce repetitive administration and make our processes more consistent. The ability to adapt and improve workflows as our requirements change is one of its strongest advantages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

One of my main frustrations with Smartsheet is that some automations and workflows have limitations, particularly when dealing with more complex requirements. Certain tasks that seem straightforward, such as capturing previous cell values, tracking exactly who made a specific change, or transferring selected information between sheets, can require complicated workarounds or external integrations.

I would also like to see more flexibility in reporting and automation, particularly when managing multiple sheets and trying to consolidate information into a central report. Some advanced functionality requires additional setup or technical knowledge, which can make it time-consuming to achieve the desired result.

Overall, Smartsheet is a valuable tool, but improved automation capabilities, easier cross-sheet data management and more intuitive reporting would make it even more effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Familiar Grid View That Makes Project Ownership Crystal Clear"
4/5
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

I like how fast it is to see an entire project without getting in the way of everyone asking for an update. I can put tasks in and assign ownership, and due dates, and I can quickly see who is doing what. If you have ever used excel, the grid view is familiar enough and it's better for managing a continuous list of work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

Managing sheets can also get complicated when you have too many tasks, columns and dependencies. Creating reports and automation rules also requires a bit of trial and error at first. I wish there was a less complicated way to build personalized views of your project without having to adjust the configuration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smartsheet Streamlined Collaboration and Documentation for Us"
5/5
What do you like best about Smartsheet?

Smartsheet is a useful tool that lets us work on a common platform at the same time. It has drastically reduced our physical paperwork and helped solve many issues around maintaining good documentation practices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Smartsheet?

The only issue I’ve noticed is that after signing a document, there was an instance where my digital signature was automatically removed. Other than that, everything has been good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
