# What are the best construction accounting systems for contractors tracking job costs at the same pace as the work?

&lt;p&gt;I’d want to know which cost inputs still lag in practice. Committed costs may update quickly, but if field time or supplier invoices arrive days later, the “real-time” job view can still leave finance reacting after the margin has already moved.&lt;/p&gt;
