What do you like best about Personio?

We are quite satisfied with most factors - especially, since Personio has also integrated payroll features and the tiresome export (of HRIS data) and re-import (of salary slips) can be avoided in this way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Personio?

Not impressed about the reporting features: I don't uderstand the setup of individual reports (what is included/what is not) and some reports lack the necessary depth our BI team seamlessly provides when given the raw data (e.g., fluctuation -> correct by voluntary. Gender pay gap -> give correcte and uncorrected. Sickness rate -> correct by long-term). You can all do that, but it's not a standard feature/filter/drill-down which I would expect. What do you like best about Personio?

Personio is a very flexible system that allows us to set up different workflows for the multiple countries we operate in. We now have all checklists in one system, which ensures us we never forget steps in, for example, onboarding or offboarding of colleagues. They have many options for integrations, and have an open API, so you can link it with your other software.

A big plus for me is that you don't need a consultant to change a workflow. They have a ton of support articles, AI assistent or designated support consultants that can answer your questions if needed.

We also use the Performance & Development module. Running complete cycles is easy and it allows you to get a full picture. You can use self-reviews, peer reviews (360 feedback) and manager reviews. The only thing I need more guidance on/research more, is to how to set up the module to proactively manage performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Personio?

It would be great if the system supported more manager and/or employee service options, for example that an employee can officially start a workflow if they want to reduce or increase their weekly working hours.

What do you like best about Personio?

I use Personio for everyday HR related tasks like applying for leave, tracking attendance, and accessing personal and company information. It makes handling HR processes easy without needing to go through manual steps or frequent follow-ups. I appreciate the clean and straightforward interface, which makes it quick to use even for simple tasks. This reduces back-and-forth communication as most information is readily available and up-to-date. It brings clarity and structure to everyday HR interactions and reduces the dependency on manual communication. I value the notification system and approval workflows as they keep me informed and updated without needing to follow up. What do you dislike about Personio?

One area to improve is flexibility, especially in terms of customization and reporting. At times certain workflows feel a bit rigid and it's not always easy to tailor them to specific needs. What do you like best about Personio?

Still very well integrated into our infrastructure – intuitive and easy to use, allowing employees to work with it without extensive training. The focus on self-service with defined release guidelines works well. We particularly value the broad integration options via API with systems like Microsoft 365 and others. What do you dislike about Personio?

The number of paid add-ons is quite high. Often, we only need a small function, but it’s bundled into a paid add-on with many additional features we don’t use. As a result, the cost-benefit ratio doesn’t always fit.

Personio brings together several key HR functions in one tool. It’s very intuitive and easy to get familiar with, even for non-tech people. You can build clear standards and continue to grow with the system as your needs evolve. If you have multiple entities, it can get pretty hard to manage everything individually. You basically have to establish a standard that all entities need to follow, without exceptions. What do you like best about Personio?

I use Personio for keeping all employee data in place, managing absences and holiday approvals, performance reviews, and whistleblowing. I like that Personio is customizable, which is beneficial because we have a particular setup and employees all over the world, so this helps in managing different needs. What do you dislike about Personio?

A lot of things need to be implemented by me, manually set up things as we like/need them. It would be nice to have some more automatisation. For example assigning multiple types of absence types to people, all at once. Integration is a bit complex for tools like Calendar and Slack because you need to be admin of all these tools, which are usually managed by security and not HR. What do you dislike about Personio?

Personio is not yet mature in the area of billing systems and cannot represent some benefits. The interfaces between the tools are problematic because the developers do not collaborate and the tools are not interconnected. The API is not good, which makes integrations with other applications difficult. The ideas are good, but often the necessary connections are missing, for example between competency models, performance, and compensation. The implementation of goals has also not been successful, especially with sub-goals for employees. Onboarding and offboarding processes also have gaps, for example, checklists for specific situations like pregnancy, contract changes (team changes, title changes, etc.) are missing - these cannot be well represented through workflows, as the workflows can only proceed step by step and cannot start workflows simultaneously, such as when there is a change and multiple departments receive a to-do at the same time, leading to delays in the workflow if it gets stuck at one point. What do you like best about Personio?

I appreciate the intuitive use of Personio. The customization options the system offers me are great, and the self-service is gladly used. I find the integration with other tools like DATEV particularly helpful, as it significantly eases my work as an HR manager. Additionally, Personio simplifies work processes by allowing employees to independently change their data and set reminders. Payrolls are automatically entered into the system and are available as PDFs, which also makes the HR process more efficient. What do you dislike about Personio?

On one hand, I think it's good that innovations are released quickly, but sometimes they are released somewhat hastily and are not quite as well-developed as they should be. And sometimes, less is more in HR. That means functions should really work well before they are released.
