The platform can feel a bit complex for first-time users, and it takes some time to fully understand certain reports and configuration options. I really appreciated the user-friendliness of the platform, especially in the testing part, where the status of test progress can be monitored at a glance (this is helped by the business intelligence, supported by AI, offered by the platform).

What I didn’t fully enjoy about Panaya were some aspects of the defect management features. Linking a defect to a test step isn’t very straightforward, because you need to type the exact test name in order to create the link. This makes the process quite long, and many times it’s not possible to remember by heart the exact names of the steps.

I like that Panaya Smart Testing and Change Intelligence is able to create a draft SFT test script, understanding the sequence of steps inside the transaction. It's missing context or prerequisites needed to run tests. The AI features fail to consider customization validations that aren't mentioned in writeouts or manuals. The test creation should not just read documents but ask test-related questions that delve into authorizations or roles needed, custom validations relevant for business, workflows active in transactions, and data-relevant prerequisites. I find The Panaya Platform really simplifies UAT and makes it easy to upload and modify test cases, which is super helpful. I love the user interface, and it shares real-time updates of defects detected by testers directly to developers. The dashboard of the test cycle could be improved by displaying the tasks pending for each user, showing which developer is responsible for each defect, and providing live status updates. Smart Testing is easy to implement. No software needs to be installed locally; the test users can use the application directly and perform the specified test cases as in their daily work. Additional documentation is not required, and in case of errors, consultants and developers can precisely trace what happened during the test. Despite all the advantages, the new recorder – purely related to the SAPGUI – has the disadvantage that automatic scripting is no longer supported when playing tests. However, if you have installed the corresponding frontend and backend components, you can still use the old recorder in special cases.
