# What platform provides searchable transcripts for audio and video files?

Hi, G2 community. I’ve been working with long audio and video recordings, and while transcripts are helpful, they often feel overwhelming without a way to quickly find key moments. That’s why I’m exploring platforms that provide searchable transcripts, tools where you can type in a keyword and instantly jump to the right section instead of scrolling for minutes.

Here are a few transcription software programs I have been exploring:

Descript (4.6/5, 779 reviews on G2): Turns transcripts into a searchable editing interface where you can jump to any moment by clicking on text. For teams that just want a quick search, is the full editing suite more than they need?

Fireflies.ai (4.8/5, 719 reviews on G2): Lets you search transcripts across meetings to find exact topics or keywords. Is it accurate enough to rely on for fast searches in messy conversations?

Fathom (5/5, 5,847 reviews on G2): Provides searchable highlights and meeting transcripts. Does its search function hold up well when you need to dig into long recordings?

tl;dv (4.7/5, 420 reviews on G2): Focused on searchable meeting transcripts with timestamped highlights. Is it best suited to small teams, or can enterprises benefit too?

Do you find the search fast and accurate enough to replace manual note-taking?

So I'd say that Fireflies works well when you need to search across multiple meetings. It’s useful for finding recurring topics or references, but accuracy can vary in fast or messy conversations.

I’d be interested to know if searchable transcripts have really changed the way your team reviews meetings, or if they end up being an underused feature.

Descript ended up working well for this, being able to jump through the transcript made things easier
saved time compared to manually searching through recordings

### Comment 4

We’ve found that searchable transcripts are most useful when combined with highlights or summaries. Search helps you find moments, but summaries help you understand context quickly.

### Comment 5

Fathom is great for quick highlights and summaries. The search works well for finding key moments, but we still rely on full transcripts when we need more detail.
