"A Versatile SQL Database With Great Performance and Rich Feature Set"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Microsoft SQL Server offers a lot of flexibility in terms of the data manipulation, relational joins, search criteria etc that make it very versatile for a variety of applications. It offers a lot of design options spanning from multiple indexes, foreign keys, rich transact sql, jobs, service broker for messaging, user and role management which give the user myriad of options to select the best possible fit for their individual need. With the right design it gives you a very robust platform with amazing performance! Its latest offerings in the form of integration with R and Python shows the commitment of Product Team to continually enhance it with the upcoming features like machine learning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

One option that I seem to be missing is the sequnce generator, like if I wanted a running number for each of the transactions, and I did not want any number to be lost if a transaction rolls back, I would want an automated mechanism for that. I would also want SQL to enforce good design decisions like enforcing acquiring locks in a particular order. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good DBMS for Small to medium scale applications"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Easy to learn, use and implement. It is flexible. Very easy to Administer using GUI based tool. Also easy to create copies of databases for testing purposes. It does provide the latest high availability features and backup options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

It lacks some of the features that other RDBMS provide. The database and resource monitoring is not as good with the base system.
