"A high performance SQL engine"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I have been using Microsoft SQL for 10 years, I started using it 10 years ago at school with the 2008 version, since then I have always downloaded and used all the released versions, I must admit that Microsoft has always improved its product.

We are able to manage databases of unlimited size.

We can link this database to external programs thanks to its APIs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Perhaps and the only flaw is due to the fact that I don't particularly appreciate its lentezz at startup, a problem that I solved by buying an SSD. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Microsoft SQL is excellent for managing large databases."
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I really like the great care that Microsoft has put into this Software, in fact it often releases system updates.

The part I prefer most is the one that provides users with a "Developer" version that is usable completely for free (of course it is limited compared to the paid version).

We can create tables, relationships, functions, and triggers, and you can also schedule automatic backups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Personally I was very comfortable with this software I do not have any noteworthy criticisms to report. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great product for pulling from large data"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I like the ability to pull multiple queries at the same time instead of having to do them one by one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

sometimes the application seems to slow down maybe due to many users on it at once across the servers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A good data storage system"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Microsoft SQL is a system released by Microsoft, which allows both developers and companies to interface with an environment on which we can develop database systems.

For developers there is a completely free environment on which we can create up to 25 gigabytes of databases and manage up to 4 users.

Instead, as far as a paid environment is concerned, it has no limitations on the size, no number of users, this allows to create large databases I am currently managing two systems on two different servers on which I have a database of 200/300 gigabytes we speak of considerable size .

I have never had performance problems due to this software.

Furthermore we can see in real time what are the queries that slow down our system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I do not find it very well also to make myself in this system and other systems. In fact the import systems are not yet well made despite the numerous versions that have followed over the years. It is equally complex to import a database created with the 2019 versions in older versions has serious shortcomings in terms of backwards compatibility. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very powerful database application"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

It's an easy to use and cross platform compatible tool. Database connectivity in different technology projects is pretty smooth.

Process of new db item creation/modification/deletion is efficient.

DB restoration and backup is simple and both of these task we can perform manually or through SQL script.

We are easily able to scale reads and writes of application. Concurrent transactions runs very smoothly regardless how many requests are coming to the server.

It allows us to store the large scale data on the disk and provides seamless access to the same.

As per need we can upload the data in bulk. Database import and export data feature is unique and easy to perfom.

Performance wise application is good enough.

Tool is pretty much secure and authenticates the access according to granted privileges. User can perform operation accordingly.

With the help of it's Database Tuning Advisor DB optimization and tuning is very easy. This reveals details of required improvement hints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

During installation it uses more resources of machine. It's one time activity so far this not a big concern. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great database engine"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Easy to use

Lots of features, I used it many times on data migrations using Sql Server Integration Services(SSIS) and Visual Studio.

Great performance while ensuring recoverability and availability

On the last years Microsoft added new functions already supported on others databases engines.

Another great thing is that you may install it on Linux platforms.

But If I have to choose, I will definitely choose its RDBMS scalability and performance

Full Text Search is a great one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Cost - One of the major disadvantages to using Microsoft SQL Server instead of an alternative relational database management system is that the licensing options are pretty expensive.

Another thing is that on new queries in the SQL Management Studio, IntelliSense does not work as I would expect it.

Also with metadata on new queries, new objects are not easily impacted on new query window.

Another thing is data change is not easy to use,

Lastly I think that SQL Server should add a source control version in order to better manage tables, stored procedures, functions, triggers, etcetera. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A useful component for managing data"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I use this product from Microsoft by now I do not know how many years I am very well.

Currently I manage to manage two servers on which two Microsoft Sql databases are allocated.

I have never had performance problems and I use this product mainly as a means of data storage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I can't say it's easy to install, in fact being a procedure that I rarely do I always have difficulty.

But from the performance point of view it is still excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
