"Database Performance on SQL Server is incredible."
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

SQL Server supports the industry standard T-SQL query language, and is comprehensively the best supported and easiest to use relational database management system commonly available. Development licenses for the product are completely free, and the developer version includes access to every single feature. The latest version of the product, SQL Server 2019, contains a large number of performance improvements, not least of which is Asynchronous Database Recovery, which drops recovery time to nearly zero. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

What's not to like? The product is incredibly well designed. I suppose the Enterprise version could be cheaper. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Create enterprise applications using Microsoft SQL"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Data replication is the most important functionality that I have used to integrate distributed applications. The administration console is another tool that you can use to integrate all database servers and to configure and to monitor all services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The user guides need to improve to add real cases that the users discover when they using that or test their applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Microsoft SQL is a Pioneer in database management systems"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Microsoft SQL is a software designed by Microsoft to manage Databases of all sizes and needs. It is essentially a relational database. The database is extremely stable and reliable and the size of the data is not an issue at all because it can grow at an exponential rate with your incoming data needs. Being a Microsoft product it offers top-notch security to the data stored or shared across any other platform. You can throw very high-level transactions to its way and it will handle them all without throwing any errors. The speed and performance of this database are phenomenal as well. Query writing is very simple and very effective too because you can write custom scripts to get certain work done in a much more efficient manner. The latest version of the SQL server now includes Apache Spark and Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) to give more power and control to the people over the vast data influx. The data backup and data recovery are very well managed and easy to use as well through this software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I think the biggest issue which most of the people face with MS SQL is that of connectivity. Many times it happens that we lose contact with the database and after trying multiple times it gets established again. It happens a lot, especially while trying to connect locally.

The second thing to consider is that the Cost can go up very quickly if your database keeps expanding rapidly. So, be cautious while selecting this database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

High licensing costs, high-processing servers and powerful hardware required.

On the other hand, depending on the versions, the functions can vary Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Wide Range Of Functionalities, Performance and Powerful DBMS and secure access database"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

This is the official Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) developed by Microsoft. It has all the functions of storing and retrieving data. According to my opinion it has great performance. It is reliable. It is very easy to work with it even to a user without much experience. It can handle multiple user request without any issue. It also supports database replication to manage transactions without any delay. This helps to provide 24/4 availability of SQL server as user request can be redirected to another server. The client tool like SSMS provide easy management of objects on SQL server. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The SQL Server client tools like SSMS are not user friendly. User must have experience in writing queries to get data from SQL Server. SQL server don't provide any predefined templates for complex logic. Sometimes it takes lot of CPU resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
