What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I've been using SQL server since the late 1990s, and have found that the support offered by the SQL Server community is extremely valuable, especially from those who are frequently instructors at PASS events, I like the ease of use and the new Business Intelligence features which allow users to analyze the data they've entered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

It is a simple install to utilize and work with. Straight forward as far as install goes and is very stable overall with minimal issues as far as software goes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Sometimes not a simple transition from older database to newer databases. Sometimes the database will shut down on their own. It is a rare occurrence when that happens. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The biggest disappointment is the lack of love given to PowerShell in this release. Other than a few cmdlets for AlwaysOn and backup/restore, you'll find no real PowerShell improvements in SQL Server 2012. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple to Use"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

It's a solid database that is fairly simple to use. Works well with large volumes of data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The fact that it's owned by Microsoft has it's disadvantages, especially when it comes down to licensing. It does not play well with Oracle when trying to link servers and querying from one to the other. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SQL Server daily user"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

The easy and quick nature of the coding. Interacting well with our data warehouse. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The exporting tool is less than useful. The lack to save the variable names, in the export often makes large scale data exports difficult. I would also recommend adding some additional analytic tools. Most of our BI has migrated to SAS SQL due the this limitation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
