"Great product for SQL database"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I've found that Microsoft SQL has been relatively simple to use once worked with for a short period of time. As opposed to other SQL database programs I've used, I would say this is a major advantage for this particular program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

As with many other SQL programs, the user interface isn't the best looking, however that isn't a huge issue for many of the folks we have working in the program, as ease of use is much more important. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Business Standard"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

SQL Server is a mature database in widespread use across the enterprise. It is fast and efficient. With options for backups and disaster recovery, and flexibility for on-premises and the cloud, it is one of the best choices today. SQL is straightforward to set up, contains powerful features, and recently has introduced concepts such as in-memory optimization and first class pivots. Filestream makes it easy to store and retrieve blobs. This is the "go-to" database I see for line of business applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

As a relational database it's not always the best choice. In some cases the type and shape of data may be more well suited to other models. Licensing can be challenging in some cases as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent database management system "
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Very structured and well organized, easy to use, manage and amend. Relatively inexpensive when compared to competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Only issue I have encountered with it is it sometimes has a tendency to bog down significantly when it’s tasked with many operations at a given time. Scalability is not hard but there are alternatives in which it is relatively much much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Database that Sets the Industry Standards"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

The robustness and the stability the product provides. It has been in the industry long enough and has been on many platforms long enough to become the defacto database of choice. For any of the applications that we create for our customers, we only use MS SQL. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Not so much a dislike but Microsoft has a tendency of creating many licensing models for things that are going good for them. That may not prove to be in the best interest of the end-clients. SQL Licensing is one of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
