"Microsoft SQL Server Review"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I started working at Emerson almost 7 months ago and have been using the 2012 version of SQL Server Management Studio. The performance is great when writing complex queries and the intellisense makes writing queries very quick and efficient. The availability of online resources when looking for help in solving a problem is also a plus. The user interface is very straightforward and easy to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I don't have many complaints. There doesn't seem to be a way to automatically format SQL queries so when copy/pasting large queries, so I've had to spend a decent amount of time. Fixing indents after doing this. The licensing is also pretty expensive. Aside from those two points, I think it is a great product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

The Highly Available SQL Cluster Service is extremely valuable to our organization to be able to provide a STABLE Database Environment. The replica / clustering feature is extremely valuable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Not as straight forward as it could be in relation to required installed Features. Not having FILESTREAM turned on, on one of our nodes caused some issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great DB software, works hand in hand with the OS"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

It's a Microsoft product hence the best integration with the Windows OS family. Also , it's scalability is impressive . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Some applications cannot use MS SQL and other DB software has to be used, like Oracle. However, that is not Microsoft's fault

Support could be better as offshoring affects the quality of support received. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"10 years of SQL use and loving it."
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

If you have data, and you need to store it, SQL is the way. Easy to install, so many resources available for learning, and it's a stable program. SQL has great features for integration providing bridges for many applications to use and share data. The ability to relate data has to be the best feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Sometimes conversions of data types can be tricky, and it's not clear why they fail. The many choices of datatypes I'm sure are useful to some but cause confusion if you don't know what best fits your situation. Without a good description given in the program it's time consuming to research. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
