Review Summary

Generated using AI from real user reviews

"RDBMS with excellent UI and Features"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Sql profiler and Sql job Scheduler both are best features of MS sql server. Sql editor has all options to validate, debug, execute queries, Check the performance plan of queries using query analyzer. Writing queries is very easy with intellisense support. Window based sql services to control the server restart process. Bulk data delete and database shrinking is really easy. Plugin third party tools is easier with SSMS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

When closing the SSMS, There is no option to save all together or not save all together. User has to either save each individual query one by one or not save one any one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My favorite DBMS hands down"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Being able to visually manage databases, backups, maintenance plans, and user security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I wish restoring backups between different versions was possible. There are times where I want to restore a production backup on a development machine and cannot due to the versions of SQL Server being different. I know that there are difference s between the actual formats, but I wish SSMS had ways of migrating those differences during restore. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Nicely designed query optimizer, Resource management is user friendly, ability to remove locks using UI . Sql Server query editor is nice tool to write queries with intellisense support. "MS SQL"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

SQL has matured dramatically over the years. The Management Studio is robust and Reporting Services is now a prime time report building tool. The UI performance is also great. Business intelligence has also grown over the years as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The price can be daunting for smaller company's or users. Like everything MS puts out you get what you pay for. No integration for Hadoop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Microsoft SQL is OK"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

It's got basically all the features of best-practice relational dbms's. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Not good with non-structured data like document or image (unlike e.g. NoSQL). Document storage is changing first and MS SQL hasn't caught up I think. It can do it however the consequence is slower processing time because of getting around the stringent rules of MS SQL that apply better to relational dbms type data.
