I wish restoring backups between different versions was possible. There are times where I want to restore a production backup on a development machine and cannot due to the versions of SQL Server being different. Not good with non-structured data like document or image (unlike e.g. NoSQL). Document storage is changing first and MS SQL hasn't caught up I think. It can do it however the consequence is slower processing time because of getting around the stringent rules of MS SQL that apply better to relational dbms type data.
