**What do you dislike about Knock?**

- I found some aspects of the the git commit workflow a little confusing at times when commits kept piling up, which made it a bit hard to keep track of changes... but this was a super minor annoyance

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I built an entire in-app notification workflow for various flows in my company's webapp. When users perform certain activities like joining an organization or creating a project, or submit requests, I want to notify specifc users of these actions. I found it very straightforward to configure these workflows both in the code an inside the Knock UI.

Knock has saved us immense time by providing our own notification service. Knock delivers in-app and email notifications to the users of our SaaS platform.

  ### 5. Good choice for complex notification workflows

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Knock?**

* Powerful features around modelling workflows
* Simple interface to allow testing and promotion of workflows to production

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

* Templating is not intuitive for anything but the most simple cases

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team uses Knock to notify users about failures in asynchronous workflows.

**Official Response from Sam Seely:**

> Thanks for the review! Any additional feedback you can provide around where our templating isn't working for your more advanced use cases? I'm sam @ knock.app if you want to send me a note directly with your thoughts or we can grab time to discuss. Thanks!

  ### 6. Full features, Good Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Knock is a designed notification service built with developers in mind. It provides all the necessary features required for a notification system, making it easy to integrate and manage notifications across multiple channels. The platform stands out for its flexibility, allowing developers to customize workflows, templates, and delivery preferences with ease. Additionally, Knock’s support is good enough. They offer a Slack workspace for real-time assistance and are highly responsive to emails, ensuring quick resolutions to any issues.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Debugging tools could be more advanced, making it easier to trace and troubleshoot notification flows. For larger teams, more ACL options would be beneficial to better manage permissions. Additionally, occasional minor changes, such as updates to Liquid logic, are made without sufficient awareness, which can cause unexpected issues.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's easy to have a powerful preference center with Knock and also track notifications in complex systems.

  ### 7. Good UX and Developer friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Knock?**

It's very easy to integrate as a developer and pricing is friendly to the team. The feature to commit to production is very helpful

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

More integrations with other modern providers

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knock helps us to ship out a notifications infrastructure seamlessly without needing to rebuild the wheel. The layer of abstraction offered by them is very helpful

  ### 8. As a young company, Knock already creates significant value for us as a customer.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maximilian S. | Fullstack Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

- The existing core features work reliably out of the box
- The entire team (that we've interacted with), including customer support, is very open, collaboratively minded and quick to respond
- Initial prototyping is fast and easy, allowing us to get features out of the door quickly
- Integrations with our service and other external services (e.g. June, Mailgun) could not be easier!

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

- As with any young company, you will encounter use cases or parts of the product that are a bit rough around the edges. However, the team acts quickly on corresponding requests
- The reliance on low-code tooling for designing notification workflows makes it easy to get started, but comes with scaling pains at some point (this is not Knock-specific, any low-code tool runs into this eventually). There are workarounds to deal with this programmatically, but not yet as a polished part of the product.
- The provided Python SDK is bare-bones, e.g. it comes without typing and wrappers for expected errors. We had to build our own representation of Knock typing to remedy this. This might (!) apply to other SDKs as well.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knock is taking loads of engineering effort related to building and maintaining notification infrastructure off our shoulders. Many related parts that are non-trivial to solve (e.g. batching, delaying) work intuitively and reliably out of the box. It allows us to focus mostly on the business impact of notifications, with greatly reduced technical overhead.

  ### 9. A really powerful tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Florian B. | CTPO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Knock?**

- Super complete
- We can easily plug multiple providers (sms, emails etc)
- Workflow designer is awesome (we can achieve tons of use cases)
- Docs is really good
- Slack support is super efficient
- Once integrated, is super easy to manage complex workflows

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Learning curve at the beginning, maybe a bit tricky to really understand all the features and how to achieve what you want

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create a complex and complete notification system to handle transactional notifications for a marketplace

  ### 10. Quickest notification service integration ever

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Typical notification services only provide for the backend. However, Knock gives you ready to integrate React components that eases implementation by a significant time. Bundled with this, managing the content of your notifications within Knock along with a git like commit strategy is a first for me. Promotion of changes to staging and production makes release process a breeze.
Also, they had setup a slack channel for us and the support there was amazing.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Apart from some bugs in the UI and certain quirks around changes made to messages reflecting in an environment, it is pretty good.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For an MVP to have a notification system in place, Knock made it fairly easy to integrate and get it up and running in practically no time.

  ### 11. Excellent Developer Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin A. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

What I like the most about Knock is that it has an excellent developer experience (DX). The DX is simple, straightforward, uncomplicated, yet effective. Many B2B companies forget just how important the DX is, especially since a good DX saves time and money. Customer support is also fantastic, since I was able to email them and get a response right away! Thank you, Knock! Fantastic company.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Honestly can’t think of any at the moment. I did run into a technical issue during installation, but was able to figure it out quickly.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knock is providing us with the notification infra. I built one in-house before Knock, and my god was that a pain to build and upkeep. So happy to have Knock take care of it.

  ### 12. Great product that surprised me with the features it has

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan P. | IT Technical Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

How easy it is to setup workflows and promote the changes to new environments

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

The one thing I was it had was the ability to replay messages in test envrionments. Sometimes when debugging in lower environments I'd like to replay an event without crafting it from the original message to test.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Letting users know when long running processes complete. We alert them in app and if they are not there to get it we send them an email.

  ### 13. Knock enabled our notifications infrastructure in a matter of days

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Henry G. | Founding Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

We use the Knock React Native sdk for our mobile app. The prebuilt hooks and headless components made designing our own frontend extremely easy.

* Knock's documentation is second to none
* Knock has been battle tested, and can be trusted from an infrastructure perspective
* The pre-built components make going from idea -> production extremely quick

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

* The only knock (haha) that I have is that the preview editor doesn't handle HTML previews as well as others. This is a minor inconvenience, nothing major.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knock solves our ability to keep our users notified and engaged with our product. In an event driven application, notifications are critical to the overall UX of the product.

  ### 14. Delivers on its promises and wins with a thought through experience and features

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Florian D. | Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Their dashboard and UX are incredible. Compared to others it is simpler and easier to get started. Their test driver allows us to quickly test workflows just as if they were in production. Their support through a shared Slack community is fast and relaxed.

We managed to go live with Knock within a couple of weeks, even though their Flutter SDK still had some bugs in the beginning (but they where patched within days of reporting them).

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

You can still notice that Knock is in an earlier stage of product development. Some features are still missing. In addition their pricing continues to be a challenge for us, especially because they also charge for their in-house in-app (inbox) messages.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for a tool that could combine push and in-app (inbox) notifications, allowing us to quickly launch a inbox UI in our app. Knock delivered that functionality and allowed us to launch our complex notification design for our social feed. It allows us to batch, combine and ditch certain notifications based on the user and their preferences.

  ### 15. Best notification service. We switched from Courier to Knock and very happy with the decision

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wei G. | Cofounder & CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

The entire system is designed very elegantly with the right abstractions around notifications so it's great for engineers to work with, but also simple enough where non-technical team members can go in and edit liquid templates for workflows. We switched from Courier earlier his year–while Courier is maybe easier to send your first notification with, the product quality and flexibility of Knock is far better, plus their rate of product improvement and innovation blows Courier out of the water.

Best features are the workflows, especially Batch aggregations. This would take us quite a bit of time to build internally and Knock pays for itself just with this feature. It makes it easier to reduce notification noise for users, dramatically reducing workflow.

They also have a very intuitive system to commit to dev & then promote to production.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

You definitely need engineers to use Knock well and it's less geared towards non-technical users. But for top technical teams building great products, there is no better solution.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We'd rather spend precious engineer time building proprietary features and product than notification infrastructure. We have very complex noification workflows with multiple types of users. Notifications are the key product loop that pull users back in. Knock has saved us tremendous amount of time with these workflows so we don't have to build and maintain our own notification infrastructure. The simple messaging template editor also allows non-technical users on our team to manage and update notification copy.

  ### 16. Fastest way to get notifications app and running

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Serhii O. | Tech Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

1. Ease of testing - detailed data about each notification helps troubleshoting
2. Ease of integration - just minutes to send out your first notifications
3. Ease of development - dev => prod flow is really thought through, every configuration change is done in git-like environment
4. Integration with Segment allows us to hook up any event we already have
5. Webhook destination is quite flexible to accomodate any tool
6. Flows have all the necessary features like batching, delays, etc
7. Most apis don't require creating users beforeahead to be able to send notifications

And a main thing here - super responsive team which can take user requests, help narrowing down the issues.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

1. Git-like environment is not "git", no reviews, etc.
2. Liquid syntax used in templates is limited when generating object payloads (for example if you want exclude some props, etc)
3. Template editor has errors on valid syntax
4. Errors with templates are hard to debug yourself
5. Lack of native components for different frameworks (flutter, vue).

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We already had notification system when we decided to integrate some 3rd party. After testing several competitors Knock went out as top-notch.
It solved the problem of implementing a flexible notification system ASAP.
There are cheaper solutions but you either would be stuck on onboarding or find a missing piece somewhere down the road.
We did spent a lot of time for creating own components, since vue / flutter are not having components or enough customization for us.

  ### 17. Easy to use & great support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mariana O. | Founding ML and Backend Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

I really like how easy it is to set up and the fact that we can handle notifications separately from the backend. I believe it will eventually help us collaborate with non-engineering teams that might want to have input on notifications, although we’re not there yet. Also, there are advanced features like the Object-Subscription model and i18n support so it does not lack flexibility.

I also had a very positive experience with the AI support in the documentation and the customer support for more complex situations.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

There were still some situations where I had to "hack around" knock in order to make it work for my use case, but support has been helpful each step of the way.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knock simplifies the process of building notifications across multiple channels with varied flow logic. For me, this has saved a lot of time and effort, as we didn't have to develop complicated notification flows and infrastructure in our app. I also think in the future, it does not need to be me (the backend engineer) to deal with notification flow details, like how often, through which channels, the copy of the emails, etc.

  ### 18. Knock helped us integrate notifications in our SaaS application easily.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

The most important thing we liked about Knock is the easy integration in our front-end and the ability to use our branding. The channels system is also a huge feature that we use for notifications distribution.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Honestly, we haven't faced any bottlenecks or limitations so far.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s super important to keep our users in the loop, and building a notification system isn't easy. We tried to do it ourselves, but it turned out to be a bit tricky, that why we opted for Knock.

  ### 19. Cool tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Good docs, great support and customizing

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Bad .net client
Translations missing in non enterprise tier

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We provide notifications as a platform service

  ### 20. notification can easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** 준명 . | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Knock?**

huge integration and best dx experience.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

complex of message data format. confused

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we don't have notification server. because of backend engineer too busy. but knock makes every notification needs satisfy.

  ### 21. Setup in minutes!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William O. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

We didnt want to have to create a complicated notification system, picking something up off the shelf like Knock allowed us to implement a design that we're happy with quickly and also integrate with our complex application.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

We use Sveltekit which did not have prebuilt UI available. We were able to create our own easily enough though using their JS SDK.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As part of our application we schedule meetings, we use knock to let all involved parties know about any updates to events.

  ### 22. Knock simplified our product development tremendously

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor F. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Before Knock, we tried to implement subscriptions and notifications by hand which was time consuming and error-prone. Knock made this entire process easier (hundreds of lines of code removed) and more manageable.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

My only request is that Knock provides a way to manually send out notifications via the GUI so that not everything has to go through code.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knock simplifies the entire notification process. It also ensures that our notifications respect users' preferences so that we don't get marked as spam or reported.

  ### 23. Highly flexible and customizable notification platform with awesome service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin S. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Personalized support is absolutely amazing.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

If at all it is the pricing structure, which can cause high costs when you need enterprise features.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the complexitiy of notifying our endusers over multiple channels in a reliable manner.

  ### 24. Simple and straightforward

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caolan F. | Software Enginner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

A simple and straight forward UI with no overcomplications and east to follow

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

I think there should be a quicker way to get to the messages template

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Emails to the users

  ### 25. Easy to Implement, Fast to Production

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jan B. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

- It just works and so far it's running nicely without problems
- Very easy to set up, integrate and get to a production-ready state
- Support team is responding very fast

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

- Some rough edges, some features/concept felt a bit unfinished, but they did their job
- The pre-built React components are not great. I'd love to have a nicer and more customizable pre-built component library, ideally based on Tailwind.
- Python SDK does not get much love and could benefit from better typing and error handling.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing in-app and email notifications to our users for events relevant to them, without spamming their inbox.

  ### 26. Empowers non-technical team members to drive user notifications

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arthur D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

1. The customer support via our shared Slack channel has been fantastic. Knock team members respond incredibly quickly and provide actionable + accurate responses
2. As a non-technical PM using Knock to experiment with new notification flows, I've been impressed by how easy it is to use. I've built 4 email workflows with little to no engineering lift on the content of the emails. I have leveraged chatGPT to help with some custom HTML and got support from Knock to get it over the line.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

My only gripe at the moment is the inability to download engagement data directly from the platform. The Knock team is supporting us to get the data into Redshift but I'd love to be able to download the engagement data to CSV directly from the platform

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knock is the tool that powers our new notification architecture for SAAS platform.

In our old system, it required engineering resources to make any changes to customer emails or in-app notifications. This was expensive and time consuming. With Knock, everyone from PMs to the Marketing team can do experiments to improve our notification engagement

  ### 27. Knock is a nice way to get notifications up and running quickly for web app teams

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrea C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

I work as a software engineer at a small startup with a web app we're trying to develop. Notifications would add a lot of value for our users, but we didn't want to build the whole infrastructure ourselves as we're busy developing our own product.

Knock made it super simple to get this functionality into our app with minimal code and work. We evaluated this from both a front end and back end perspective, and both teams found it easy to understand and fold into our existing codebases. We were up and running with our notifications within a day.

I also really like the Knock dashboard and how changing notification templates doesn't require any code changes. This made it quick and easy to iterate on as we were implementing the content and look and feel of our notifications.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

My dislikes are fairly minor. When evaluating other notification services, some already had notification preferences built into the out-of-the-box notification feed. This would have been nice for Knock to provide, so it wouldn't have to be on a separate page/area of the app for users to configure.

Another is some more customization of the notification feed would be helpful, such as being able to add a link in the notification feed pointing to the notification preferences page, without us having to redo the whole thing.

Lastly, understanding how tenants worked was a little confusing first. It was something we wanted to leverage, and it wasn't super intuitive that we needed to treat tenants as "objects" and subscribe users to each.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our product has a lot of asyncronous flows where a user creates a resources or starts an action, but it may not be ready for awhile. Notifications was important to allow us to alert users as to when the new resources were created or when their actions were completed. We needed to be able to alert users to key changes taking place in the system (within their tenant), as well as allow them to opt in/out of these notifications (whether in-app or via email).

We're a small, scrappy startup and didn't want to spend a lot of time in this area that has already has a lot of solutions available. Knock provided us a way to add this key feature for our users extremely quickly and in a flexible way that could grow with our business.

**Official Response from Sam Seely:**

> Thanks for the feedback, Andrea! We'll see where we can improve on making tenants more intuitive. Appreciate the feedback on our in-app experience as well!

  ### 28. Truly the best notification infrastructure you'll never build

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

We've been using Knock for a while now and it's served us pretty well so far. They have a very generous free tier that comes packed with a lot of their features. It was very easy to integrate and the ability to add custom channels using webhooks is one we've relied heavily on . But one outstanding feature is how they handle development and production environments, the git workflow was very familiar to developers and we found very useful. When we've had to reach out for support, on slack and email, assistance was provided and any issues we had resolved.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

The email template builder can be a bit lacking at times forcing you to use plain html when designing templates for certain edge cases

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A centralized place where all notifications go through via multiple channels, across multiple recipients. This is very easy for tracking said messages and getting an insight into how many messages are getting sent out regularly

  ### 29. Knock makes it easy to integrate notifications into an existing application

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

There are out-of-the-box UI integrations that allow for getting notifications setup quickly.
The dashboard is easy to use and update the text of notifications and emails, in addition to easily modifying workflow details such as batch time and workflow steps.
Customer support channels—i've used email and slack—are reliable. They get back to me within a reasonable timeframe and introduce someone else into the conversation if they are not fully knowledgable of the issue/area of focus.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

The out-of-the-box UI has limited customization, which prevents certain use cases from being implementable. Their support team takes requests for product improvements though!

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knock provides an out-of-the-box UI integration that allows for getting notifications setup quickly. We use this to show notifications to our app's users without writing too much custom code. It sped up our development time and the documentation made it simple enough to get started. The dashboard for setting up workflows and workflow steps benefits us by allowing for batching notifications and only sending notifications to users when the batch time is completed, helping us avoid spamming our users with notifications.

  ### 30. Solves a Huge Pain Point for Platform Developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy R. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

It works like a platform developer thinks. Simple things like adding users inline, adding variables to workflows, and controlling formatting all work like you would expect. Onboarding is easy and the API is super simple to get up and running with. Beats the heck out of managing various API's for email, SMS, etc. Well worth the the cost.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

If you just need a basic email only solution without special formatting, variables, workflow, etc. it's probalby not worth the premium.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It rolls all of my notification needs and logging into a single platform, which is a huge time and complexity saver.

  ### 31. Great for handling user-specific complex workflows

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

It's super easy to use, and I'm able to run complex workflows without the need to write a ton of glue code. APIs that allow users to manage their own subscription/notification preferences is also very helpful to reducing the amount of code we have to manage.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Some parts of the web dashboard is a little bit buggy. Also, since we don't use React, we can't take advantage of Knock's prebuilt in-app notification center, which is a bummer.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us send push notifications to customers in bulk, display push notifications, and roll-up reminder emails.

  ### 32. Knock has been extremely useful for email campaign management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricky P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

The API is very clear and simple to use, and the workflow creation process is smooth and customizable. Both creating and canceling email campaigns have been very reliable for us so far. Not having to manage notification schedules with code logic or cron jobs has saved us a lot of time!

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

The only feature I would like to see is the ability to use or import dynamic templates already existing in Sendgrid. The email template components that come with the editor are not bad, but any more advanced customization requires inserting raw HTML and CSS blocks.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knock makes email drip campaigns much easier to manage because we can set customizable schedules to send out emails. One particular use case for us is canceling a campaign based on a recipient clicking on a link, which is very easily implemented using Knock.

  ### 33. Ease of use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Ease of use and integration with application and APIs such as send grid.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Email templates sometimes hard to work with. Preview does not always match the actual experience

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowed us to build out variety of features requiring automated email notifications with regard to our application

  ### 34. Knock solved a complex problem for us and provided even more

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dániel S. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Engineer friendly usage on all stages of implementation and integration.
World class APIs to interact with it in our own way.
Fast and helpful direct support.
We could trust Knock so much that we built our transactional communications around their solution and we send many notifications to our users on a daily basis.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Pricing was shocking first, but we could receive a startup offer with dynamic payments which solved the issue. And no matter how I calculate, implementing Knock is still much cheaper than building our own solution for this problem.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knock provides a general solution for a general problem, where we don't have to think about different provider integrations (email and SMS) on our end. Their editor is also helping to set up each workflow and template easily, in a low-code environment.

  ### 35. Decent Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris R. | Founding Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Ability to easily send emails with a template and powerful features such as batching them.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

I had to wrap the notification preferences with an API and web-page which wasn't ideal. I was also sending badly formatted emails in outlook for a while which i wasn't aware of due to the email looking correct in the Knock dashboard.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating templates and email workflows with batching.

  ### 36. How did i live without Knock before

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Knock is one of my favourite SaaS at this moment. The unparalleled combination of simplicity and customisation is just awesome. One API call and multichannel awesomeness come to live - in-app notification goes first, later - push and e-mail for boomers. The best part is that I don't have to code anything. Business users are in full control of workflows, we review and commit to prod. What a dream!

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Very difficult to find any downsides to be honest. It is just a fantastic, very well tough product.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prebuild in-app notification components are absolute game-changers. Zero to 100 in one "npm install"!

  ### 37. Great product with a great team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

The speed of releasing new features (let alone bugs)!

I have requested several new features to the team which have all been released within a few days. Their support is great and very detailed.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

This isn't really their fault but they are in the US timezone so I usually have to wait a day (I am impatient) for a detailed response.

Sometimes iterating through workflows and testing them and saving to dev can be a bit of a pain.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Knock to send in app notifications as well as emails.

  ### 38. Good platform for notifications structure

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felipe A. | Technology specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

I like how I can make available flows to the entire team, so that everyone can contribute on the same notifications and workflows

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

I would be good to have more examples of good practices about the notifications, as there may be different ways to achieve some results

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create a end to end notifications structure

  ### 39. Easiest way to manage multiple notification channels for our app!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

- Incredibly easy to setup and implement
- Live content changes for notifications makes it super flexible on our end. No need to update our redeploy any of our backend services
- Workflow rules make it really easy to manage and maintain triggers for all of our notifications (especially to avoid spamming our users)
- Notification history is really nice for debugging and understand who received what
- Great customer support through the Slack channel

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

- Sometimes a bit tricky to get setup with certain data parameters (e.g. daily notifications)
- Rate limits for scheduling / sending notifications is sometimes a pain

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knock helps us send push notifications to users across multiple channels and also handle the business logic on deciding when / where to send a notification to a user.

  ### 40. Great product with great potential ahead

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gal S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Knock?**

I was impressed by the great job the team at Knock did after comparing it to some other competitors. For a young startup, they built a precise product and provided features that even more mature companies don't provide yet. For example, having the ability to manage templates on your CI represents a modern approach to a common challenge.

Knock's data model is flexible which allowed us to create an abstraction of our liking.

The Slack support channel is very useful and the team is very responsive.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

The typescript SDK can have better types, it made us work a bit to handle some optional fields.

More security-aware features like handling specific tokens as secrets.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For the MVP of our notification center, we integrated only emails.
We expect Knock to help us expand the channel support easily to Slack and push notifications.

  ### 41. Knock gives you notification superpowers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Knock has multi channel support for send in-app, email or slack notifications with smart batching with a simple API. It's developer first approach provides a seperate development and production environment that makes it easy to test and configure messages which aligns we with best practices.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

The designer provides a nice way create templates for email, but has limited flexibility on format requiring you to switch to code mode to make further edits.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Application level notifications for users

  ### 42. Implemented in app notifications in record time

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chase A. | Senior Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Easy to use workflow genreaton. Knock also handles real-time updates.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

The deployment pipeline withn knock is a bit vauge.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Real time drop in notifications. Email notificaitons.

  ### 43. Offload your notifications to the experts!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

What I like most about Knock is their support on their Slack channel. They are quick to answer and the community is very helpful. Its really easy to get started as well.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Down side is you have more time to work on other things except your notifications!

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to offload our notification system and focus on our internal software

  ### 44. Don't look anywhere else for notifications – Knock is the best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Using Knock for omni/multi-channel communications has been a game-changer. Their API and SDKs are top-notch. Integrations with Expo and Resend are standouts. Love the git-like workflow for easy staging. Knock is reliable, user-friendly, and developer-centric.

We vetted competitors, including Novu and others. Very happy with our decision to go with Knock. I am quite sure that Knock is currently the best product offering in this category. Efficient, effective, excellent.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Pricing leaves a lot to be desired. Probably unattainable for many small startups, or developers/organisations in low income countries.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides a workflow GUI that allows our admin/non-technical team to build powerful and complex notification logic.

  ### 45. Knock has made it easy to integrate many features we had planned on building into our notifications.

The version control system does not perfectly align without our code VC

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Easier to create templates
- User notification preferences
- Multiple notification channels (SMS, Push, Email)
- Better delivery tracking

  ### 46. I used Knock to easily create emails for users.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

How easy it is to use because the formatting of the website is great -- good UI/UX.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Took a while to understand the potential flows of emails.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knock allows me to notify users when they reach different stages of onboarding or when they upload documents or perform tasks.

  ### 47. Absolutely seamless notifications

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George G. | Software Engineer, Legal Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Knock?**

We love Knock! It has been an absolute game changer for us, with all the technical requirements for editing our notifications completely removed. We've come to a very happy situation where the product team write all the notifications, and the engineering team simply make sure that we are triggering them with the correct information in the API call. We are no longer badgered for copy updates, and it's not our fault when the copy is wrong! In a tiny team it's so important to us to be able to delegate as much non-technical stuff to non-technical people as possible, and having easy to use tools like Knock makes this so much easier to do!

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

The only thing that we think knock lacks is a bit more detail in its commit system. When our product team edit the workflows, we would love to see a diff to allow us to understand what they have done and push to prod with confidence. Naming the feature after a git feature suggests a git-like workflow, and it feels a bit lacking that it's not there.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We didn't have to build a notification system, which was a massive plus for us. We can simply define the workflows in the WYSIWYG editor, call the APIs, and be safe on the knowledge that our users will be notified without us having to mess about with MJML or websockets! Farming edits out to the product team allows the dev team to get on with much more impactful stuff rather than constantly tweaking email copy.

  ### 48. Great software with Seamless integrations and next level support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher G. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Knock?**

Knock has been a fantastic out of the box solution. They have multiple languages that they integrate with easily. Their dashboard is clean and to the point with workflows to easly set up triggers for notifications. From a developer side their documention has made adding notifications a breeze. They have taken a very complex concept and made it very dev and user friendly. On top of that their support has been outstanding, fast and clear responses we truely appreciate it.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Not really anthing off of the top of my head that i could say bad about Knock. They really do hit all points of a great product. From solutions to service to their customers

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Notifications as a whole is a very complex ideal. There are so many gotchas when it comes to even attempting to develop this on your own. Knock is solving this complexity and providing a user friendly interface and dashboard also plug and play SDKs. This solutions eliminates months even years of trial and error and headaches even attempting to create your own notifications system. Their plug and play system matched with great support got us up and running within a matter of days.

  ### 49. Knock is a very user friendly tool.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

I like the ease of creating workflows and the number of channels available to notify our users.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

One thing that might be improved the the ability to promote workflows from environment to environment.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knock is solving the problem of notifying our users about certain events in our platform. That allows us to focus on building the more crucial features of our application.

  ### 50. Knock makes implementing and monitoring notifications a breeze

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Knock?**

There's so much configurability to handle almost any situation you can think of. It's hard to come up with a situation that can't be handled by Knock.

**What do you dislike about Knock?**

Writing notification templates / previews can be a bit challenging as it's a combination of syntaxes.

**What problems is Knock solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly implement user and team notifications with minimal infrastructure on our end. No servers, cron jobs, messy email notifications, etc.
