I use Progress MOVEit primarily for storing and sharing files efficiently. I truly appreciate the solution's strong focus on compliance and security, which were major concerns for us. I dislike that Progress MOVEit does not support installation on Linux, as this would have been beneficial for my setup that involves internal Linux servers. Additionally, it is inconvenient that different operating systems are required for Progress MOVEit Transfer and Automation. What I like most about MOVEit is how consistent and secure the file transfers are, especially when dealing with sensitive client data. For MFT the MOVEit has proven to be the solution for us, based on its flexibility and capabilities. Also, the support from the vendor is very important and they've always come up with solutions just in time. It is an easy to use platform and minimal training is required for people to setup and/or support their integrations. I feel like some aspects of the backend are somewhat complicated to work with. Sometimes finding what is wrong requires going deeper into logs manualy and that could be one aspect to enhance. On the downside, the built-in email reporting feels a bit rudimentary—you’ll want more formatting options and scheduling flexibility. Integrating custom or third-party scripts also isn’t as seamless as it could be; I ended up writing batch files to wrap my scripts before calling them. A more direct script-hook or native wrapper support would streamline that process considerably.

Beyond the core robust security and automation it's known for, I'm particularly impressed by the progress they've made in UX and auditability, specifically, the introduction of a dedicated "Audit User" permission level is a great addition. We can now grant auditors and compliance stakeholders direct access to logs and reports without giving them administrative privileges to sensitive folder data or settings. Honestly, the version upgrades. They can be a bit of a headache. It's not uncommon for users to voice concerns about past security incidents even if they've been addressed. A proactive and transparent approach perhaps with clearer communication about ongoing security enhancements and simplified patching would go a long way in building even better trust. After an initial learning curve, MoveIt is very easy to use and very user friendly. MoveIt Automation provides some build in canned scripts and Macros's that have been very helpful and eliminated the need to create custom scripts and Macro's.

In addition, with MoveIt supporting custom PowerShell scripts, we have been able to better automate almost all of our clients from using various SFTP clients to using MoveIt.
