I really appreciate how Progress MOVEit has become one of those platforms that quietly runs in the background and just gets the job done. It's great that it eliminates a huge amount of manual background file transfers. We use it to move files within our internal systems, Windows, SharePoint, Dashio, and SFTP. From a security perspective, it offers features that are critical to our environment. What do you dislike about Progress MOVEit? Sometimes the updates or migrations of the application require scheduled planning and testing. The production updates often involve many things like databases and testing all the host service accounts. There are sometimes missing pieces in the grid which are not present in the recent notes of the software. What I like most about Progress MOVEit is its reliability and strong security for managed file transfers. It offers a stable platform for automating SFTP and batch file workflows, which helps reduce manual effort and lowers operational risk. Built-in capabilities such as encryption, role-based access control, detailed logging, and audit trails make it well suited to enterprise environments with strict compliance requirements. MOVEit Automation is particularly useful for retries, scheduling, and error handling, so transfers can run consistently without constant monitoring. I also appreciate that MOVEit centralizes partner connections and workflows in one place, which makes it easier to manage high-volume transfers while maintaining visibility and control. Upgrades can also introduce behavior changes or require updates to jobs, scripts, or configurations, so careful testing is needed before moving anything into production. In addition, troubleshooting more complex workflows may mean digging through logs, which can be time-consuming if you don’t have deep familiarity with the platform.
