## DonorSnap Reviews
  ### 1. Satisfied with my product

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

I really appreciate how easy it is to batch update as well as easily send thank you letters.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

I sometimes wish pulling information back out of Donor Snap was easier. I also wish there was a simple way to clean up donor files. It would be great to be able to transfer a trait from one user defined field to another, if that makes any sense.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use DonorSnap to pull mailing lists, send thank yous, track sales, and track donations. Being able to easily do that is very helpful.

  ### 2. Donor Tracking and Reporting Much Easier

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Our old system of Excel spreadsheets tracking donor information was a nightmare. The report query tools allow you to customize data and export exactly the fields needed at any given time. The software is user-friendly and affordable. The online on-demand tutorials are EXTREMELY HELPFUL.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

It would be helpful if the program could work with MailChimp. I know there are interfaces for Constant Contact but we don't use that software package for email distribution. We would also like to add more to our mail merged letters in terms of graphics and photos.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Do it--you won't be sorry. Great value for the price.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quicker turnaround for thank you letters. Data resides in one place and multiple users can access it without being in the office. Huge time saver!

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Thank you for your review.

We have looked at working with MailChimp since it is a nice product for nonprofits. However, they are a bit ( a lot) more difficult for developers to interface with. Constant Contact is open to everyone and provides a support team to assist with interfacing. Mail Chimp is selective and often doesn't get back to you for weeks to provide you a key for development and once you have that, there is minimal back end support for developers. We initially started to try and use them but after several months became frustrated and chose Constant Contact.

You can add graphics and photos to our internal email tool. You may want to contact support for instructions. Here is an example of what we did recently for my small nonprofit....

  ### 3. Donor Management is a snap

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael E. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Donorsnap has many customize-able reports for communications, managing donor relations, and keeping track of financial goals.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Navigating between tabs, information about a contact is segregated (donation history, interactions, and volunteering all separated). That makes it hard to get an overall view of their history.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping record of donations, and donor management.

  ### 4. DonorSnap provides exceptional customer service in a user friendly environment.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Ease of use, responsive customer service, always adapting to the needs of the customer.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

My only complaint was that they did not have a proximity report and guess what? They now have it!!

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

DonorSnap is worth the change from your existing software. Importing data is a snap. Customer Service is always available to help in any way. So user friendly!

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to run reports to sort our database for any scenario needed. Contribution statements are able to be generated with ease at the end of the year.

  ### 5. Great value, navigating could be easier

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Cost value with it's report capabilities

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

It is not easy to navigate. There should be different ways of integrating the different pages. The text size needs to be bigger.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Update the layout! It is a little wonky and hard to read!

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having our membership list shared with several trustees allows us to work from anywhere. It syncs to our Quickbooks, which looks to be helpful, although a little cumbersome. We have been able to sort through our Membership lists more easily to update them.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Matt,

Thanks for the feedback. You aren't the first that has commented on both the flow of navigation or the font size. We did spend time this winter working with both a UI (User Interface) and a UX (User Experience) consultants to design a new layout for DonorSnap. The developers have started the coding process and we hope to be able to release it by the end of this summer.

As for syncing with Quickbooks, I'm not sure it will get much more streamlined than what we currently have. We are dealing with the parameters provided by Quickbooks for directly integrating into their software and also trying to ensure that there are checks to protect against accidentally posting erroneous or garbage data into your Quickbooks. That is why there are the validation steps involved.

If you do have some suggestions on how you would like to see Quickbooks flow, you can email me direct at DMueller@DonorSnap.com There is no guarantee we can accommodate your request but were always looking for new ideas and may have missed something very simple to do.

Thanks,

Dennis Mueller

  ### 6. Easy Like Sunday Morning :)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kat D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

I was able to self teach myself how to use the software and the few questions I had when running detailed reports was easily emailed to me by donorsnap help desk.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

I wish the font was bigger to see. That is my only complaint

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Its super easy to learn and the support desk is great for answering questions

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of all donations for our non profit shelter is so much easier than using excel spreadsheets.
Running a report is easier then doing the math by hand.

  ### 7. Powerful CRM for a shoestring budget

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derek R. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2017

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Best price-to-feature ratio we've found.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Steep learning curve. Barebones interface

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Great solution if you're willing to put in a bit of extra effort. Not for those expecting a slick, turn-key interface--there is a lot of customization to do at the start, though that is a strength as well.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Minimizing manual cross-platform data input; integration with Constant Contact and QuickBooks Online reduces work/errors. With the all-in-one data architecture we can keep informed about any aspect of resource management: donors and donations, donor cultivation/contact and ticklers, volunteer management, in-kind gift management, grants management (some). All while being able to manage mailing lists and campaigns within Constant Contact and checking donations against the bank account..

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Derek,

Thank you for responding to G2's survey.

I like your heading "Powerful CRM for a shoestring budget"... We do pride ourselves on being one of the lowest cost providers. The reality is we spend very little on marketing, advertising, trade shows, etc... Ultimately those costs have to be passed along to the customer. We try to focus on customer service and quality of offering.

I'd tend to agree with you about the interface comment. When we originally started I emphasized the "steak" and not the "sizzle"... Get the functionality that users want with the simplest interface... As we've grown, we are now to the point where we are taking a totally new look at the interface. We spent the Winter working with UI and UX consultants to revamp the DonorSnap look. We've started the development process and plan on releasing the new look the end of Summer 2018. We look forward to your feed back when that goes live.

Thanks,

Dennis Mueller

  ### 8. Donorsnap Does the Job

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Environmental Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Easy to customize to my needs. Easy to add new contacts. Easy to add multiple donations.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Merging duplicates is not user friendly and needs to be done manually.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Make sure you have a person dedicated to administration that is the only one doing updates. Don't let multiple people change formating.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Donation reporting has been made very user friendly. I can customize my reports to fit a variety of peoples requests within our business. I can easily track when membership renewals need to be sent out.

  ### 9. I've had a pretty good experience with DonorSnap.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

It has a lot of functionality. I'm able to upload data from a spreadsheet which makes entering data much easier, faster, and more accurate. I've been able to create any kind of report I need, sometimes by downloading it to Excel and further refining the report. I also like the fact that DonorSnap has made updates to their system to add further functionality or options.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

I wish each user had a separate space to store the reports they use and create, and also be able to put them in different folders by category so they are more organized.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This gives us a place to track our donations and volunteer activity and be able to create mailing lists for more donations.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Thank you for providing feedback on your experience with DonorSnap.

With regards to your desired for individualized saved reports (as opposed to organizational saved reports) - that feature is currently part of the new reporting package that we are programming. Look for it to be released at the end of Summer 2018. You'll also be able to make certain reports private and only shared amongst selected individuals.

Thanks for the feed back.

Dennis Mueller

  ### 10. Great donor system for the price

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angela P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

The price is great for the amount of features that you receive. In addition the customer service team is very responsive.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

There are some elements that are lacking but they do seem to do a good job of adding items throughout the year.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

DonorSnap is a great product for the price standpoint.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to track donor giving and also other behaviors such as volunteering. We have a much better system to understand our historical giving.

  ### 11. I like DonorSnap and the system is easy to use.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

I only use DonorSnap to track volunteer hours. I like how it allows tracking volunteer hours and creating our own application form.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

I dislike the fact when I have volunteers entering their hours online off of our website I have to go back in and edit their contact information or it will duplicate them in the system.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I enjoy knowing what each of our volunteers activity is and how many hours they are there for.

  ### 12. Works well for tracking donors and donations, but not always user-friendly

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Donorsnap is a great way to track donors and their donations/pledges. Entering this information is user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Trying to do a mass transfer or mass upload has been a nightmare. After weeks of trying to upload an excel spreadsheet from another donor base, I am still unsure if all of the items transferred correctly. There should be an easier, better way. The terminology is also confusing and not always easy to navigate.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

I would recommend taking a course on all the different componenets of Donorsnap before getting started.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

After doing much research, watching tutorials, and talking to a consultant, I have found the Interaction tab to helpful with organizing information on certain donors.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Thank you for your review.

Mass uploading from another database system can be tricky as you are often bringing in both Donors, Donation History and ancillary items such as notes.

I'm not sure if you are trying to load your data initially yourself or if this is additional data you want to add into the system. I would suggest you contact our conversion folks that help clients get data loaded initially. If this is your first load of data, we do provide 4 hours of support with your setup fee. If this is additional data, it still may be worth it to pay one of our conversion people $40 per hour to load the data for you. We probably can save you a lot of frustration.

Email Dataconversion@DonorSnap.com and send in the data you are trying to load. Reference this review. We will take a look at the project and give you our ideas as to how you should approach it and what it would cost if you'd like us to do it for you.

  ### 13. Customer Service and Training are Tops

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

The customer service I have received from DonorSnap has been top notch. They are quick to respond to questions through their ticketing system. Also, many online training opportunities are available -- as well as past training videos that can be viewed to assist with any aspect of the software program. I would highly recommend DonorSnap software.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

I do not have anything to recommend in this space.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Donor database assists us in tracking donations and volunteers

  ### 14. Fantastic Product and Wonderful Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** George S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Just perfect for our non-profit. Easy to use - very competitive price,

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Haven't found anything yet! I didn't need much help as the software is easy to navigate, but I did have two tutorial sessions (live) and their video help library is extensive if I need further help.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Give it serious consideration. Their product is wonderful and the support is amazing.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Donor management, record keeping

  ### 15. Using Donor Snap

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Don S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Donor Snap was designed with non-profits in mind. It is intuitive and flexible. The recently added responsive forms has improved our online appearance.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Interaction with Quickbooks is cumbersome.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

I recommend Donor Snap, it is easy to use, flexible, has fabulous customer support and very cost effective.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Donor database management, registration, payment, and online donations. Flexiblity allows us to do just about anything we need to.

  ### 16. Great bargain for Small-is non-profit

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelley W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Lots of functionality for the price. And it continues to keep adding new features.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

The email only customer service that we have is not awesome, though I know for more $$ we could have more. The "look" on screen is a bit antiquated.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great place to manage our donor meetings and involvement. We are better stewarding our donors, and raising more money.

  ### 17. Cost-efficient product with great training resources

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fund-Raising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

DonorSnap is really well priced for our budget, does everything we need it to do, comes with some great pre-populated features (reports, etc.) and has great online training documents and videos.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

It's a little clunky and not terribly intuitive. Some of our volunteers have been intimidated by the learning curve.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We never had a donor database before we implemented DonorSnap, and it's been a huge time and money savings for us to have our data in one place that we can easily store and pull from. We're also using the responsive forms that provide additional time/money savings.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Thank you for responding to the survey...

One suggestion I might have would be for us to do a taped training on the features and functions that your volunteers use. That way when you do have a new volunteer working in the system, they can have a short 20-30 min getting started video to help reduce the learning curve.

  ### 18. Incredible Database Management Software for Small NGO's

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Political Organization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

DonorSnap is an excellent DB management software for nonprofits. I love the inclusive pricing for all the functions. Fairly easy to use, online help area with mini-videos and when we have encountered problems the staff was easy to access. Works with Constant Contact. I like the new geographic queries.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

We have not been able to integrate to our financial software.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

User friendly and made for people to use with minimal computer experience. Gives you everything (all functions)

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to develop a membership network to support our work in Rural Democracy and Environmental Justice work.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Thank you for your review...

I am assuming your financial software is not Quickbooks. If it is, please email support@donorsnap.com We offer a direct integration with both the Desktop and Online versions so you need not export your data to excel to import it into Quickbooks.

  ### 19. Donorsnap has a full range of functionality

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

The ability to track all of a person's activity in one easily accessible place. We have many people who are donors, volunteers, and engage in other ways in our organization. All of that data can be easily tracked and reported.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

The Data Miner reporting system is not quickly intuitive, but does produce great reports once you learn it.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

A great tracking and reporting software with many features.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking interactions and using tickers have been very helpful. We have been able to generate helpful donor reports, tracking which donors are new or have dropped off.

  ### 20. Great customer service/training and ease of use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

The program is straight forward and easy to use. Set up is easy to learn and support is very helpful/quick response. The training videos online are a great help with step by step instructions for set up. The program can be set up to collect and report the majority of what you want and can be personalized for your organizations needs.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Doesn't run certain reports I would like to have access to.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great database for our current and past donors and donations made. Allows us to target certain groups by location, campaigns and appeals.

  ### 21. WBP DonorSnap Review

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

DonorSnap is very easy to use and has been instrumental in streamlining our activities, processing and reporting of donations. Top notch database that we have not fully realized its potential

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Nothing to dislike everything has been helpful

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Highly recommend

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking of donations, acknowledging our donations and tracking our donors in one place. No more worksheets

  ### 22. DonorSnap was easy to convert to and has the features we need.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg Y. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

The quick responses to any questions and the easy to use help documents and videos.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

We have not had any issues using DonorSnap.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Try it!

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to create custom reports has made it easy to get the donor information we need. Also, being able to process directly with Constant Contact has helped keep lists in one place instead of multiple places.

**Official Response from Jordan Bell:**

> Greg, thank you for your 7 years of service!

  ### 23. All in one product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lyn O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

It is convenient to have the contact/donor information available through the tabs for each contact. Do not have to go to different places to find information.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Sometimes the reports do not provide the information I need.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Product has streamlined our processes and we are more efficient. Able to keep track of contacts and easily follow-up with donors.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None.

**Official Response from Jordan Bell:**

> Thank you so much for your praise and support, Lyn! Keep your eyes peeled for a brand new custom report tool later this year.

  ### 24. Gets the job done, but needs major updates

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Simplicity; the modules and dashboard are not bulky.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

With that simplicity, comes modules that are too simple. For example, the reporting capacity isn't robust enough. Also, need more canned reports for ease.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Update update update! There is a lot of potential if you make some of your features more robust & implement some new ones.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using as an everyday CRM for donation entry and tracking. Again, it gets the job done, but lacks what other CRMs have nowawdays: moves management, e-marketing, peer to peer, etc.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Thanks for the feedback.

In 2016 our primary goal was to develop a very user friendly mobile data collect tool. In 2017 we worked on integrating an email tool along with detailed email tracking into DonorSnap. You'll be happy to here that one of our two big initiatives for 2018 is a ground up development of a reporting creation tool that will allow us to easily roll out new reports that your organization will be able to modify to make fit your specific needs. In addition to us providing more report templates you'll be able to create Private Reports, Quick Favorites, Scheduled Reports (allowing more deferred data filtering than we currently have), multi table selection, multi level grouping and more. Look for this to be introduced by the end of summer 2018.

Peer to Peer is on our radar but probably not until 2019 as we are also working on a completely new User Interface this year. I don't see us moving into e-marketing other than the use of email tools but would be curious as to what you were hoping to see. If you'd like, you can send me your thoughts directly at DMueller@DonorSnap.com

Thanks for the feedback.

  ### 25. Outdated interface and small buttons

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Meghan G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

-organized well
-there are so many features to it

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

-outdated interface
-doesn't show quick numbers or info about donors

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Get a phone app!

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

-Queries to be able to filter the correct donors/volunteers to send them appeals.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Meghan,

Thanks for the time you took to respond to the survey.

With respects to our interface, you'll be happy to know that we've been working with UI/UX designers for the past couple of months and have started to develop a new front end for the software. The timetable is currently to roll it out by the end of summer.

With regards to your comment about quick numbers for donors, please email me directly at DMueller@DonorSnap.com with your specific issues. We do have about 30 data fields available for each Donor such as Life to Date, Year to Date donations, etc... If you haven't enabled them on your custom screen you may not be seeing that information. Alternatively, you may be looking for something else so please email me with your specific needs.

Thanks,

Dennis Mueller

  ### 26. Busy Work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

I like that it is easy to access each contact without any trouble. It's simple to use and get use to.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

When I am inputting a mas-entry I am not able to go back to what I just input to fix something I realized was done incorrectly without deleting the Input and starting over.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's easy to use but can get messy. I like that is something you can easily train others on.

  ### 27. I love DonorSnap's simplicity and power

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

I have found DS super easy to use, very flexible, and the support is fabulous. Help on every page and they are very responsive if you end up emailing them with a question.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Personally I have found the reporting difficult. The canned reports are great, but making our own can be a challenge.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've been able to keep very accurate records of our fundraising as well as improving our donor stewardship.

  ### 28. Donor & Database Mgmt is a Snap!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

We have been using DonorSnap since 2012. Not only do we track donors, we track our current students, alums, concert attendees, music teachers, schools, and a whole host of other entities.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

While we have tweaked it to be able to register our current student musicians and their families, there are limitations since it wasn't really designed for this capability.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Database Management

  ### 29. DonorSnap has some limits.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Individual & Family Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

I think this CRM has the capability to perform a lot of functions but learning how to get it to perform is tricky. I’ve learn s they when I’m trying to pull a report I have to look fir very specific data vs broad information.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

This system is not very intuitive & the search function really leaves something to be desired.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to organize our donor relations ina way thst makes sense to use. It’s very customizable.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Please email me directly about the issues you have with the search function. Our Global search currently will allow you to search every field within DonorSnap, including comments. The grid filters lets you drill quickly into a give specific field. I'd like to know what it is to see if we can address it. So I'd like to get a better idea of what you'd like to see. This is very easy to use. It has the main reports you need that can help your orgazination. To the point.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

If you need help they usually just send a video on how to. However recently they went above and beyond with personal touch.

  ### 32. DonorSnap has been a great aid and tool with organizing our agency's donations and volunteer hours.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2018

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

I love the database for it's organizational features.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Sometimes tracking our community service hours, via connecting a "registering volunteer" to their DS account can be a little tricky.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

None, just keep up the great work.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to pull different reports for different donors at any given time. That's always a plus.

  ### 33. Donor Snap is a good donor database, user friendly, and generates reports.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caitlyn R. | Community and Donor Relations Coordinator, Individual & Family Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2017

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

I like having a central place with all of my donor's information. It is easy to search among my large donor base and find specific information such has how much did they donate, when did they donate, to which event, personal information, etc. Then, exporting out to excel is easy for thank-you letters. They also make mass input fairly easy, so that it is not too time consuming.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

The user interface seems outdated. It gets the job done, but they could use a design overhaul. The technology also seems outdated. But these are minor things, such as when searching for a last name, the whole page has to refresh when you delete your search terms, etc.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Donor Snap has a large database of support videos, FAQs, etc. Take advantage of these as they help you learn the system!

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Donor snap has allowed me to track my donor information. It allows me to keep track of who has been thanked and who hasn't been contacted or given in awhile. It allows me to have all of my donor's information in a central location, for ease with things such as mailing lists or marketing campaigns.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Caitlyn,

Thank you for the time spent providing a review. It sounds like we are meeting most of the needs of your organization and that is great.

With respects to your comment about the user interface, we did spend the Winter of 2018 working with UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) consultants and have blended the best of what was in DonorSnap before with their suggestions to take advantage of new tools in web page development. We currently are programming the new user interface with a target of introducing it by the end of Summer 2018... It seems like a long time but with over 200 screens an a million lines of code, it takes a bit to update the complete system.

We look forward to your comments when the new interface is released.

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

It is very easy to print the Thank You letters to our contacts.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Sometimes when I email support I do not hear back from them.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DonorSnap makes it very easy to organize our different community engagement events therefore making my job much easier.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Thank you for responding to the survey.

I would like to hear directly from you about the failure to get a support question answered. We must have missed it and for that I apologize.

We do use the leading support tracking software (Zendesk) so if you email Support@DonorSnap.com it will automatically go into their tracking system. We watch our monthly statistics closely to ensure timely response. On average we respond to 85% of the support tickets in one hour or less (the ones outside this time frame generally come in overnight or on the weekends.) Including the night and weekend tickets, we average just less than 2 hours average response time compared to the Zendesk industry average of 18 hours... In or terms of service we guarantee a 4 hour response during week days but we really strive to keep it to an hour.

So if you find you are not getting a timely answer to your questions please email me at DMueller@DonorSnap.com. We want one of our biggest differentiators to be our customer service.

Thanks,

Dennis Mueller

Donor Snap reports are difficult to customize and run

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Make reports easier to use.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding donor levels and what programs they donate to.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Thank you for your feedback.

Look for the new report tool that will coming out the end of this summer. That will hopefully give you complete flexibility in modifying any existing DonorSnap report or adding and creating your own. You still will be able to run all of the standard reports but you'll now be able to customize almost any of those reports to include your organizations unique data and then save those customized reports to either a public or private directory on your organizations site.

The ease of donorsnap. It's easy to enter new information and to get information out.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Nothing to dislike. Donorsnap has worked very well for The ROCK

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The reports are wonderful

  ### 40. Not the worst system, but it could be better.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2017

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

The custom reports that you can create through the DataMinerPlatinum section is very useful for creating specialized contact reports and data analysis.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

The old-school nature of DonorSnap as a whole - perhaps this is intentional in order to help the less tech-savvy, but it's definitely a turn-off.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Make sure you don't want to be able to export from DonorSnap to another database - it will accept Excel uploads, but cannot upload to Quickbooks, etc.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use DonorSnap as our donor database - their customer support has been very helpful when needed.

**Official Response from Jordan Bell:**

> Thanks for the honest review! I do want to point out that DonorSnap is directly integrated with both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop. It will send your donations directly to your QuickBooks database without any exporting/importing. The integration is included with every subscription, so please contact our support team at feedback@donorsnap.com and they will help you get it all set up.

  ### 41. Easy to use and a great product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2016

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

I love the that it is simple and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

I currently do not have any dislikes about donor snap it functions the way our organizations needs it.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

It's a great product and they get back to you the same day if you have any questions.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We didn't have a donor system for our organization and we are able to use the system to organize our donors and the funds we receive.

  ### 42. Very happy with DonorSnap software and service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tamara J. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2016

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Simplicity of use and pricing. We are a smaller non profit that relies on volunteers and therefore have multiple people end up using the software. It was easy to customize it for our needs and then have the various volunteers entering donor information, donations, process our mailings, etc.. We do our donation acknowledgements, year end donor statements, on line form processing and integration with Constant Contact mailing list through DonorSnap.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

We would like to have a mobile app but understand that they are working on one. We would also like an integrated auction management system. We've looked at available products and because our event is small we need something that will be only a few hundred dollars a year to justify.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Really need to look at the software and decide if it does what you want.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Timely acknowledgement of all donations; Timely notification of Board Members automatically of donations received from key donors; organization of all of our Donor records.

  ### 43. Easy to use - And you can access anywhere!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2016

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

I find DonorSnap very user friendly, as the more I use it the more there is to know! You can keep a nice updated master list or data base of your customers, friends of the school, and donors. Easily update, add information, and incoming monies. Download your response letters and indicate which letter is to be sent, and these are able to print right from the platform. As you enter donations there is a field for type of letter, type of donation, all that is then transferred into your letter. You can save different lists, edit all your entries, print letters, export to quickbooks, print out donation statements. And I like that you can access from any computer, making it available to use at work, at home, at a meeting, etc.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Nothing about the system really, the hardest part for me is how to use it, no training, or 'users guide'. They do offer online training, I just haven't had the opportunity to take advantage of it.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

They offer training and good support, I am not the administrator, so I am using the features as shown to me. I also know when we started with them they were very helpful and inputted lots of data!

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping an up to date list, up to date donations received, able to track by amounts, print out letters.

  ### 44. We use DonorSnap as our primary, and only, CRM.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Garrett S. | Development Director, Music, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2016

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

It's streamlined, so very little clutter (unlike Salesforce, which I've used at two previous jobs). Reports are easy (if not fantastic), and building custom ones is intuitive.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

There's a lack of power when it comes to reporting (compared to Salesforce, for example). In fact, one of their tutorials actually instructs you to export several reports to Excel for comparison since certain things can't be done within the program. I also wish that donations could be processed within DonorSnap as it'd cut out a step and save time. The search function is also very basic, so sifting through results is often required.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

I would first determine what kind of reporting you'll be doing most frequently. From there investigate CRMs to see which one is best for you. (DonorSnap is great for keeping records, but that's probably only a sliver of what you want from your CRM.)

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using DonorSnap to track donors in order to do basic housekeeping things, but we'd really like to use it more toward analysis. How we can do that is still being ascertained, but I don't believe it's impossible.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Garret,

Thanks for the detailed review. We appreciate the feed back.

As you mention in the review, you currently can only do logical comparisons and selections based on Contact Information and one of the detailed tables (Donations, Interactions, Volunteer, Etc...). We do not have the capability to do a multi table query such as give me everyone that has donated this year to the annual appeal and volunteered for the fun run.

The good news is that we are currently programming a completely new query tool that will accomplish that and more. Incorporated in the report tool will be: Private Reports, Quick Favorites, Scheduled Reports (as we currently have), multi table selection, multi level grouping. Look for this to be introduced by the end of summer 2018.

Thanks for the feedback.

  ### 45. Learning curve, but simple enough for small nonprofit

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Writing and Editing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2016

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Customer service and help/support videos are essential and excellent. Webinars are very helpful for learning the tricks to using this program. DataMiner Platinum feature produces great reports.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

For people who are not familiar with databases, Donorsnap requires a lot of learning. This is not a plug and play program for volunteers or staff unfamiliar with databases. It requires a lot of logic to understand and do useful queries.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Be sure someone in the organization has some database knowledge and can set it up and do queries using Boolean logic.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We love that we can keep all our years of donor data in one place and generate reports that help us analyze, recruit and retain members. Having our membership/donor data online also makes it easier for multiple people int he organization to use the system.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Thank you for providing feed back on us to future users.

We do try to make the software easy to use but your advice is for folks who haven't used a Donor Management system before is spot on. Excel or custom built Access systems are very limited in what they can really do and thus easy to learn. A Donor Management system (ours or others) has a lot of functionality built into it. You'll need to avail yourself of the training offered with the initial setup, watch the videos and if need be do an additional 90 minute training with Joanna. Investing the time up front will open up all of the tools of the software to hopefully benefit your organization in the long run.

Thanks,

Dennis Mueller

  ### 46. Efficient, user friendly, and streamlined.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher D. | Administrative Assistant, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2016

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

It is easy to search up contacts and merge existing contacts in the donor system. The ability to generate mass letters to donors makes my job so much easier. The help center is great. If I run into any issues, I'm certain I can find the answer I'm seeking through easy to follow step by step videos.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

I can't say I have many major complaints. The only complaint I have is in regards to the mail merger function. For the criteria Total donations YTD, the system generates the donation amount, but with 4 extra 0's at the end for example... $250.0000 I can't seem to resolve this issue.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are streamlining our donor management. Our previous database, would not supply detailed records of donor giving. We had to search by phone number. Being able to search via name and organization makes it so much easier. DonorSnap has increased donor relation because we can see who exactly is giving, and how in a simple and easy to understand format. In addition we can give them the thanks and credit they deserve with the mass mailing system.

  ### 47. Mixed experience.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Val R. | Development Director, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2016

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Like the ability to affiliate records and assign soft credits. Like the ticklers. Like being able to link donations to pledges. Like batch updating of interactions and easy merger of duplicate records. The online help - text, video, email is good.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Hate the online card processor - Global Payments. Can not contact them to resolve many, many issues with card processing. This has wrecked our auto-donation program. The claimed "automatic" integration of payments and event attendance actually requires many manual steps to avoid creating duplicate records. "Integration" with Constant Contact is very simplistic and not tremendously helpful. Certain queries that I want, combining interaction and donation data are just not possible because of the database structure. Various little bits of code are broken and that's annoying.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

It's an ok entry level system.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This was a decent transition from what we had before - a custom built FileMaker Pro system but we've outgrown it in 2 years. We need more sophisticated communications integration and queries. Being locked in to the horrible payment processor is a deal-breaker.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Val

We apologize for the issues caused to your organization by Global Payments. It was probably as frustrating for us as it was for you. That organization went thru a series of mergers and we went from having good customer support to no customer support and no one we could call. It took us a bit of programming but we did switch over to another processor and you've been using them for the past year or so. Hopefully you've found it to be a better experience.

We do want to thank you for being with us since 2013 and sticking with us thru the issues with the CC processor.

  ### 48. Everything you need in a donor database, but lacks sparkle

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will M. | Program & Operations Officer, International Trade and Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2016

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

A comprehensive donor database tool that has everything you need in one place. I most appreciate the ability to integrate with your own website and an online merchant services system, where donors (or attendees at your annual fundraiser) can directly make donations, buy tickets and all of their information is directly populated in DonorSnap.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

The user interface isn't as sleek and modern as what you would expect from a contemporary website. The font is small and it looks like a Web 1.0 format- small, difficult to scroll through drop-down menus; counter intuitive navigation; some level of technical ability to learn how to use and manage your database.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Clearly the most affordable product on the market- but be prepared to set aside time to learn how to use it; to do a comprehensive set-up

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to easily sell tickets to our annual fundraiser through DonorSnap. This is our organizations first consolidated database but it is time consuming to update and maintain, although we know the effort will pay off in the long run.

**Official Response from Dennis Mueller:**

> Will

Thanks for taking the time to respond to the survey.

We heard your's and other's comments about the interface... To be honest that was back burnered in favor of developing new functionality probably for too long. We did work with a UI and a UX consultant this winter to come up with a new front end. We are in the process of developing phase I of that to be released by the end of this summer.

If you would be so kind, give me your initial reactions to the attached video. I did short screen cast of the Beta area where the developers are currently creating the new front end. I would be curious to see if you think we are on a better path.

  ### 49. Simplified Tracking and Report Generation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt F. | Director of Development, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2016

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

I absolutely love how simplified the user interface is and how easy it is to make the user interface your own. The ability to customize every aspect of the system is my absolute favorite feature. Beyond that, the quick and easy way to produce reports for our accountants have been a major help. Our auditor has even recommended the product to other non-profits because of how much he liked the reports we gave him.

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

Very little. I have two small gripes. One, I would be the inability to integrate with marketing platforms other than Constant Contact. While I appreciate that this is a logistical decision on DonorSnap's part, it is my only real issue. Two, I do not really like the way the online forms appear on our website. They look out-dated.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Buy it. You will not be disappointed.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The time saved from producing donation acknowledgements has been immense! This has been the greatest benefit realized. This alone has been worth every penny spent.

  ### 50. Easy and Productive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Linda B. | President & Owner, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2016

**What do you like best about DonorSnap?**

Donor Snap is a user-friendly, cloud-based system that has improved accountability and productivity. It was easy to get started with inputting donor data. I particularly like the data reporting features, such as the standard reports that are automatically generated with just a few clicks. Also efficient is the fact that when I create my own specific report, its parameters are saved so that I can generate an updated report just by clicking on that report's saved features. When I cannot figure out how to generate exactly the type of report I need, Donor Snap's Help Desk responds quickly and completely. But generally I do not need to seek that assistance because of the MANY videos and tutorials built right into the system. I have participated in several on-line training opportunities, which are also very helpful. I had never worked with a donor management software system before... I am so glad we chose Donor Snap!

**What do you dislike about DonorSnap?**

I wish there were more standard profiles available for reports on types of giving, campaign updates, etc. I am fairly new to Fund Development Management, so I don't always naturally think of the type of report I most need, and when I determine that, it can take me a long while to figure out exactly how to create the parameters of the report. But it is great that Donor Snap is ready to assist with on-line tutorials and videos and with real live people at the Support Desk.

**Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:**

Don't worry about having your data files in perfect shape before launching/using Donor Snap. Use Donor Snap to help you improve how you keep and use your data. That is what has happened for my agency.

**What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have recently become much more intentional about using the Interaction, Tickler and Note features, and reports for them. This has greatly improved my productivity. The features keep me on track with needed follow-ups and help me make the best use of my time since most all info I need about donors is in the system and easily accessed (I don't have to go digging through computer files to find needed background info). This makes me more organized and confident to make calls. It also helps me keep ahead of grant deadlines.
