I'm not sure how often they come up with updates, but I haven't seen any in the last year that I've used it. From the sounds of it, we may need to set you up with a private training because a lot of the options you listed like selling tickets, tracking attendees, marking records as honorees, moves management, and sending mailings to individuals in a household are all things that can be done. When we do that training we can verify that we have the right email on file and check to see if your administrator has given you access to all the areas in DonorSnap. I love how easy it is to receipt donors, keep track of different appeals, and set up reminders. Customer service is also the best I've ever experienced! **What do you dislike about DonorSnap?** The DataMiner Platinum feature is a bit confusing at first, but there are a ton of videos to help with it. **Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:** I cannot recommend it enough! I recomment DonorSnap to all my non-profit colleagues. They worked with us extremely closely to set up our site so that it worked for our school. They even called me with corrections they noticed when I accidentally set something up wrong. Their customer service goes above and beyond. I once e-mailed to ask how to create mailing labels for a newsletter. Within an hour, they e-mailed me a detailed list of steps and even had an attached PDF with my mailing labels! There are a ton of webinars and help videos. Great company! **What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is multi-user so my assistant and I can each login to look at donor information at the same time. The search feature allows you to easily find donations by check number. The program is very intuitive and can be used to send e-mails, create mailing labels, etc. ### 3. As I use Donorsnap more I have realized how customizable the program is. Using it to its full potential will be great for our organization. **What do you dislike about DonorSnap?** I think some of the features are not entirely intuitive. **What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are better able to track giving activity and have recently realized the benefits of sustained giving and goal-setting. ### 4. This system is nice when we go to reconcile each month of the donations that came in so the business office has an accurate balance as well by running a monthly report. **What do you dislike about DonorSnap?** The customization of reports should be easier but I do know they are working on this. **Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:** Fill in every field possible when entering info because you don’t want to have to go back to upload. The nice though is that if you decide you want to cumulatively add in fields you can use the mass upload through excel, it can be a little cumbersome but easier than going into each contact individually. **What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?** Keeping track of the donors and what they have given is a good feature for what we need as a Foundation. **Official Response from Dennis Mueller:** > Apryl, Thanks for responding to the survey and providing feedback. We started developing a new reporting tool early this spring that will allow you to take any of the standard reports and customize them with any additional fields you have in your system. I love the ability to customize my dashboard, forms, reports, etc. I appreciate having help videos and PDF outlines of the videos. **What do you dislike about DonorSnap?** Although there is a large amount of information in the help tab, the search function is not user-friendly or intuitive. I find I waste lots of time trying to find the answer to seemingly simple questions on the help site. Maybe the answer is there??...but I almost never find what I need. The "SUM" and "MAX" features aren't well explained. **Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:** I always recommend DonorSnap. While I knew the product help was mostly on-line (and the on-line help is great), the customer service via email is quick and good. **What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?** No problems. It would cut down on time opening the notes tab or other tabs if there is nothing there yet to access.. **What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?** The reports available are helpful for letting our CFO know specifics of what is happening. ### 9. It also allows us to easily receive donations and manage memberships. Also, online tutorials are excellent and requests for help are quickly responded to. **What do you dislike about DonorSnap?** Because it is so comprehensive, it is sometimes a bit difficult to navigate. I would also like the ability to "undo" changes, which would be useful if something gets messed up (like by one of our volunteers). **What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to keep track of constituents and our interactions. We use it to track donations and volunteer hours. It is very easy to set up different reports for different donor information. **What do you dislike about DonorSnap?** There is nothing I have come across yet that I dislike. If I come across something that I am not sure on, I click on the Help Site and can usually figure it out from there. **Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:** Definitely give it a try. You will not be disappointed. **What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to keep track of donors as well as volunteers and their hours of service. It is very easy to create and run any report needed for these purposes. I found that we don't need as many spreadsheets as we previously had because we are able to customize reports to fit our needs. ### 11. Nothing is too complicated; and the database software is helpful for keep up with incoming donations. **What do you dislike about DonorSnap?** The trainings were a bit cumbersome and if you had problems, it's really hard to contact anyone from customer service. While it is less expensive than other softwares, simple things like sending out thank you letters feels a lot harder. I hope that they can streamline soon and make the site more user friendly. **Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:** Knowing that Excel is free makes paying for DonorSnap really questionable. I think it's nice having a program that's "in the cloud," but this is something that could be remedied with Google's version of excel. I think DonorSnap needs to rethink their program and software and move into the softwares and programs of today. It's just not that innovative. However, if you consider yourself old school, then this may be fore you. **What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were looking for a way to keep all of donor numbers up to date and keep track of who has been contacted and who hasn't. **Official Response from Dennis Mueller:** > As your name is not on this review, I'd invite you to contact me directly at DMueller@DonorSnap.com I'd like to follow up on your comments about difficulty contacting anyone from customer service. Our stated response time to a support query is within 4 hours and our average during the working day is less than one hour. So I'm not sure if this what you are talking about or if you want phone support? We do offer that but charge $40 per month. Maybe that would be best for your organization. Also, with respects to comparing to Excel, again I would like to talk to you and maybe see if there is more features you could take advantage of. For example Excel does not have the ability to: - Track Pledges - Acknowledge Donations - Send Email and Track their open/deliver activity - Develop custom mobile friendly forms that will feed the data into your database - Integrate with both Quickbooks Online and Quickbooks Desktop - Track Volunteer activity - Produce annual Donor Statements and either print or email them. - Produce LYBUNT or Lapsed Donor reports. We loved using the Mass Email Campaign! **What do you dislike about DonorSnap?** We used the Contribution Statement this year and it was great but the only thing we did not like about it was the look and not being able to add our logo and change the font. I also wish there was a simple way to clean up donor files. It would be great to be able to transfer a trait from one user defined field to another, if that makes any sense. **What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use DonorSnap to pull mailing lists, send thank yous, track sales, and track donations. The report query tools allow you to customize data and export exactly the fields needed at any given time. The software is user-friendly and affordable. The online on-demand tutorials are EXTREMELY HELPFUL. **What do you dislike about DonorSnap?** It would be helpful if the program could work with MailChimp. I know there are interfaces for Constant Contact but we don't use that software package for email distribution. We would also like to add more to our mail merged letters in terms of graphics and photos. **Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:** Do it--you won't be sorry. Great value for the price. **What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quicker turnaround for thank you letters. Data resides in one place and multiple users can access it without being in the office. Huge time saver! **Official Response from Dennis Mueller:** > Thank you for your review. We have looked at working with MailChimp since it is a nice product for nonprofits. However, they are a bit ( a lot) more difficult for developers to interface with. Constant Contact is open to everyone and provides a support team to assist with interfacing. Mail Chimp is selective and often doesn't get back to you for weeks to provide you a key for development and once you have that, there is minimal back end support for developers. We initially started to try and use them but after several months became frustrated and chose Constant Contact. You can add graphics and photos to our internal email tool. That makes it hard to get an overall view of their history. **What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?** Keeping record of donations, and donor management. ### 19. They now have it!! **Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:** DonorSnap is worth the change from your existing software. Importing data is a snap. Customer Service is always available to help in any way. So user friendly! **What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to run reports to sort our database for any scenario needed. There should be different ways of integrating the different pages. The text size needs to be bigger. **Recommendations to others considering DonorSnap:** Update the layout! It is a little wonky and hard to read! **What problems is DonorSnap solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having our membership list shared with several trustees allows us to work from anywhere. It syncs to our Quickbooks, which looks to be helpful, although a little cumbersome. You aren't the first that has commented on both the flow of navigation or the font size. We did spend time this winter working with both a UI (User Interface) and a UX (User Experience) consultants to design a new layout for DonorSnap. The developers have started the coding process and we hope to be able to release it by the end of this summer. As for syncing with Quickbooks, I'm not sure it will get much more streamlined than what we currently have. We are dealing with the parameters provided by Quickbooks for directly integrating into their software and also trying to ensure that there are checks to protect against accidentally posting erroneous or garbage data into your Quickbooks. That is why there are the validation steps involved. With the all-in-one data architecture we can keep informed about any aspect of resource management: donors and donations, donor cultivation/contact and ticklers, volunteer management, in-kind gift management, grants management (some). I like your heading "Powerful CRM for a shoestring budget"... We do pride ourselves on being one of the lowest cost providers. The reality is we spend very little on marketing, advertising, trade shows, etc... Ultimately those costs have to be passed along to the customer. We try to focus on customer service and quality of offering. I'd tend to agree with you about the interface comment. When we originally started I emphasized the "steak" and not the "sizzle"... Get the functionality that users want with the simplest interface... As we've grown, we are now to the point where we are taking a totally new look at the interface. We spent the Winter working with UI and UX consultants to revamp the DonorSnap look. We've started the development process and plan on releasing the new look the end of Summer 2018. You'll be happy to here that one of our two big initiatives for 2018 is a ground up development of a reporting creation tool that will allow us to easily roll out new reports that your organization will be able to modify to make fit your specific needs. In addition to us providing more report templates you'll be able to create Private Reports, Quick Favorites, Scheduled Reports (allowing more deferred data filtering than we currently have), multi table selection, multi level grouping and more. Look for this to be introduced by the end of summer 2018. Peer to Peer is on our radar but probably not until 2019 as we are also working on a completely new User Interface this year.
