## datapine Reviews
  ### 1. Great predictive analytics features for budgeting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2022

**What do you like best about datapine?**

Overall, I believe datapine is a great solution. They have a range of functionalities that have made our lives way easier in many aspects. That said, I think the predictive analytics feature has been the most valuable for us. This module of the tool is very easy to use and it proves to be highly valuable when it comes to budgeting as we can identify trends and relationships in the data and make decisions based on that. It is also quite helpful in identifying potential risks and loss drivers so we can prepare for them in advance.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

So far, we’ve really enjoyed using the tool and have not encountered many issues. If I have to say something, there could be more support material on how to generate mobile dashboards. Although to be fair, their support team is always available to help.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

datapine simplified our analytics process from the extraction of data to the generation of reports. It has been faster and more automated than other traditional tools often used in finance.

  ### 2. All in one BI tool with powerful features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2021

**What do you like best about datapine?**

I especially appreciated the fact that I can run advanced SQL queries and visualize them really easily. Their dashboards are very intuitive and fast to generate, and they offer several charting options. We need to visualize a lot of complex data on a daily basis, so being able to add a secondary axis or mix different chart types into one was a prime benefit from using datapine.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

Their trial period is kind of short considering that we are a big team and we needed to test every feature carefully before investing in the tool. However, their customer service team immediately extended our trial period when we asked them.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

Take advantage of their customer support. For example, if you have a type of data source that is not covered in their connectors you can contact them and they will make sure you can connect it to the tool.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using datapine our analysis process was done involving several tools, some for generating queries, others for visualizing the data and generating reports, etc. To solve this, we were looking for a tool that would let us automate some processes to cut down the manual work and make our work more efficient. With datapine, we were able to connect data sources easily and generate reports with just a few clicks. The software updates the sources automatically so we didn’t have to worry about manually updating them and you can generate interactive dashboards within seconds. We could perform all the analysis from harvesting to visualizing in one solution.

  ### 3. An integral reporting solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2021

**What do you like best about datapine?**

I especially appreciate how intuitive the tool is. Anyone in my team is able to create dashboards really fast and use them as support for several meetings. They also provide quite a few templates that make it even easier to generate reports. It has definitely made our work more efficient.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

Their SQL box is still too advanced for most of our non-technical users; however, we get along fine without it.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

Take your time to explore the tool in detail as they offer valuable features such as predictive analytics to generate forecasts based on your data.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We decided to implement datapine to support a big project related to sustainability in the automotive industry. We knew that we would need to deal with data from several channels that would need constant monitoring and datapine helped us with that. The fact that the tool provides real-time data through dashboards that are easy to create and share has made it an invaluable solution.

  ### 4. Intuitive data management tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2021

**What do you like best about datapine?**

Generally speaking, datapine has been an optimal solution to deal with the development of large projects. Data sources related to suppliers, budgets, scheduling, and performance can easily be connected and then displayed with dashboards that are quite easy to create.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

Although the tool is pretty straightforward to use, they do offer some advanced features for more technical users that we couldn’t explore so far.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

Take advantage of their automation features, we never had to create a report or manually extract our data ever again. The tool provides you with everything.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to make the analysis process more efficient and faster. With remote working being a permanent thing now, we decided to invest in a tool that was going to keep everyone connected with the data, but overall be interactive and user-friendly. It has certainly not disappointed us.

  ### 5. Easy to use predictive analytics features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2021

**What do you like best about datapine?**

Working as a commercial buyer for an FMCG company means I have to be constantly monitoring the performance of several stores. For this reason, I was looking for a solution that would automate the process so I could have more time to focus on the other part of my job, and that’s exactly what I found with this tool. datapine has data connectors that allowed us to get all our internal and external sources of information in one place. With just a few clicks the heavy workload was done automatically and we had real-time data to start working with.

The tool also includes predictive analytics features that are fairly easy to use. Being able to predict trends and future outcomes, like product demands on each store, changed the way we deal with inventories and production.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

Some advanced features are a bit overwhelming at the beginning for non-technical users. For example, some people in my team struggled with custom fields for advanced charts or the SQL mode. Nevertheless, they offer several tutorials on their site so you can learn to use the tool in detail.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

Make sure you test all the features in detail to extract the maximum potential out of the tool.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The major benefit of using datapine is having one central point of access for all of our data sources. The fact that the tool is easy to use has also facilitated interdepartmental collaboration since everyone can create their own dashboards and access the data.

  ### 6. Leave the pains of manual reporting in the past

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2021

**What do you like best about datapine?**

I particularly enjoyed the fact that the tool gives you full control over your dashboard’s design thanks to white labeling features. This allowed my team to create specific dashboards for each brand with its logo and color scheme, making them look way more professional. I also really enjoyed the different sharing options that the software offers. You can share your reports with a live URL with different viewing or editing rights, this way you choose what information each of the recipients is allowed to see or change.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

The 14-days trial is okay to test the software features but not enough to see if implementing the tool brings benefits to the company. However, they are willing to extend it if need it.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

If you have a problem or question do not hesitate to contact them, their customer service is fast and efficient.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main benefit that my team and myself have gained from this software is the time efficiency of the reporting process. With datapine we are able to visualize data from several touchpoints into one place, saving everyone countless hours of manual data collection. In addition, the reports are fairly easy to create, with just a few clicks you have an interactive dashboard that displays all your KPIs in one place.

  ### 7. An excellent BI tool for managers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civil Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2021

**What do you like best about datapine?**

My favorite thing about the tool is its user-friendly interface. It enabled everyone in my company to start working with the data available and significantly reduced the risks of errors. The dashboards are easy to create and they offer a wide range of simple and advanced chart options to visualize our most important KPIs in the best way possible. I was especially impressed with the predictive analytics feature. I just had to insert the required data points and the tool was able to predict future outcomes in my data with neural networks technology, something that I haven’t seen in many tools so far.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

Even though the tool is straightforward and easy to use. They could offer more tutorials for advanced features such as SQL coding so that the less experienced users can familiarize themselves with it.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

Take your time to explore the tool. datapine has many features, some more advanced such as an SQL box where you can write your own codes. I advise taking advantage of all of them during your 14 days trial so that you can fully understand how your business can benefit from the tool.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being in charge of multiple projects at a time is not an easy task. Many aspects need constant monitoring like scheduling, suppliers, progress status, and more. We wanted a tool that could facilitate the process of data in all stages, from collection to analysis, and datapine was the perfect solution. The main advantage that we found in the software is that it became our single point of access for all our databases, which enabled us to perform advanced analysis with all our information in hand.

  ### 8. Analytics at its best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Moritz H. | Data Scientist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2020

**What do you like best about datapine?**

I was impressed with the ease of use, analytical features as well as creating dashboards to present my work to our non-technical colleagues. In the past years, I have encountered numerous tools and datapine is one of my top choices simply because their user interface is clean, but the software power enormous. I was especially impressed with their predictive analytics features where you need to simply insert required data points, and the tool will generate a prediction with a selected confidence interval. Up until now, I haven’t seen many tools that made that feature so easy (literally, all I need is a few clicks). Also, the SQL box enables me to write my own code, and if I want a visual interface, I can quickly switch between modes.

Additionally, conditional formatting, numerous filters, and the interactivity level of the dashboards, from drill-downs (my favorite) to widgets and chart zoom, always manage to impress me since I can build data scenarios quickly as long as I connect my preferred data source.

The analytical power is undoubtedly one of the best.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

I hope their analytical features will continue to evolve as it would be good to have other languages included such as R, not just SQL. I would love to see more statistical possibilities, for example, factor, or cluster analysis.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

Consider your use case first and bear in mind the trial lasts 14 days so you have plenty of time to explore the basics of the tool.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted to test a tool that will give me the best options for advanced analytics calculations. Although other tools offer similar possibilities, datapine has the easiest interface to work with, and I could completely eliminate 20 other steps that usually cost me a lot of time. It’s great because although they offer advanced capabilities, average business users can benefit from the tool as well.

  ### 9. All our data sources in a central place

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Korbinian H. | CTO & Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2020

**What do you like best about datapine?**

From a CTO perspective, datapine enabled us to store and unify all our data in one central place (cloud) and have access to advanced analytics at any time (SaaS BI). They do offer also an on-premise solution, but we opt for SaaS and we were extremely satisfied regarding the reliability and query speed. The centralized location enabled us to access our data from anywhere. As we have fairly large datasets we need to work with, datapine offered us a fast connection to our internal and external data sources and we weren’t disappointed. The heavy workload is done automatically, and the tool can comfortably handle enormous amounts of data. We could easily utilize their connectors and integrate any kind of data source. Now we have one software that handles and streamlines all our data management requirements, including departmental management, from finances to sales. From a management perspective, it definitely saved us a lot of time and enabled us to handle all our data from a single place. This centralized approach enabled everyone to access the data, build KPIs and dashboards as well as reports on our own.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

Some members of our team needed more time to get acquainted with the product so I would prefer more tutorials and detailed Q&As. Their customer service is very good, but more materials that we could use internally would be great.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

Simply try it and you won’t be disappointed. It will take you some time to get used to it if you have no analytical background at all, but in the end, the product is of great quality and worth the investment.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted a single software that can handle our data in a cloud setting and easily connect our data sources. The value we got cannot be compared with other tools since datapine is focused on the best possible user experience and can certainly compete with other, even bigger players in the field. The benefits we experienced are diverse: one point of access while our managers can build their own dashboards, reports, and analysis without any spreadsheet or manual calculations.

  ### 10. A marketing analytics solution that delivers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2020

**What do you like best about datapine?**

The possibility to create advanced visualizations and dashboards for all my marketing data without
restrictions. I can simply connect my data sources and create as many charts and dashboards as I
need, whether on an ad hoc or strategic basis. I can assign viewers and share my reports with
anyone who needs to get the information and automate the whole process, if needed. They have
great dashboard templates, which make it quite easy to build professional KPI dashboards. You also
get auto-generated dashboards, for example when you connect your google analytics or twitter via
API. The interface is very intuitive and easy to use so I like it as a marketing analytics solution that
really delivers on what I need.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

At this point, the only thing I don’t really like is the advanced SQL mode. There you can write
manually SQL queries, what can be quite a challenging without in-dept SQL skills. However, until
know I was able to make all needed analyses using the drag and drop interface.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

If you need a tool that will join all your (marketing) sources, then datapine is the tool to go. Besides,
the support they offer is fast and productive. In short, it’s worth giving it a try.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our problem was mainly disparate information. We were using multiple tools to manage our data,
and our team had difficulties to unite all the information to actually produce a report and
recommendations. We didn’t know how big our data-potential is, and we couldn’t know since many
files and presentations were slowing us down. After implementing datapine in our workflow, our
entire business information is accessed from a single point, making our work faster and more
accurate.

  ### 11. Excellent for tracking financial performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2020

**What do you like best about datapine?**

I’m amazed by the automation features. I can track the financial performance on a detailed client level, accompanied with great visuals and automation possibilities that saved me numerous working hours. All the relevant metrics I compiled into a single interface and I have a clear overview of the development as well as potential issues before they occur. If I need to customize your tracking, the simple drag-and-drop works great. I am also a fan of their intelligent alerts, especially of the neural network algorithm.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

Somehow, a 14-day free trial is standard for most SaaS tools. However, especially for enterprises this trial period is too short. There are too many decision makers involved. Luckily, on request, they extended our trial period.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

I would definitely recommend datapine to financial professionals that need to regularly track the performance of established metrics.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have seen greater efficiency since my tracking has become much more automated and easier to follow. Each metric is updated automatically, and I don’t need to spend time on extracting information manually or developing visuals with older tools like PowerPoint. Also, I can easily share and send my reports at a specific time, without needing to worry about updates or accuracy of information. The tool is really one of a kind.

  ### 12. Best interactivity options we have seen

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2020

**What do you like best about datapine?**

Since we gather and consolidate large amounts of data, the possibility to create stunning
visualizations and directly interact with each dashboard is one of the best features we have seen.
The interface is extremely easy to use, and we were able to create dashboards that we use for
weekly and monthly meetings, but also on an ad hoc basis. Numerous charts, drag and drop, and
simple sharing options are making our work with data more effective than ever before. I’m very
satisfied.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

I would like to have more options in the mobile version. While there is an app that you can
download, it’s still not as robust as the desktop version. I hope they will continue developing even
more mobile features.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

If you want a software that is adjustable for both analysts and average business users, datapine
should be on your list. We have tried other solutions before taking the final decision, and we cannot
stress how much we’re satisfied.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to completely eliminate static reporting and scrolling through slides and sheets. When
there was a specific question, the team always needed the time to look for the answer, export the
data again and again, calculate manually, and postpone the answer. That was taking a lot of time
and effort. When we introduced datapine and dashboards, the answers were immediately accessed,
and the team increased its efficiency.

  ### 13. Smart Dashboard Analytics Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2020

**What do you like best about datapine?**

There are a few things, that I really like when using datapine:
a) they have a lot of data connectors to connect all your different data sets easily
b) a clean analyzer section where you can visualize your data via drag & drop
c) powerful analytics features such as predictive analytics, conditional formatting or detailed
comparisons vs different kinds of other time periods
d) a bunch of dashboard templates, that help to build your own dashboard with a clean design
e) interactive dashboard features to view your data from different perspectives and present your
data in a really compressed format
f) during the initial contact and onboarding their customer support was supportive and I felt really
appreciated, even we are one of their smallest customers, I guess.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

It would be great if they could offer a longer trial period. They offer a 14-day free trial,
that’s a little bit short to evaluate the software in every detail, especially when you have many other
regular tasks to do.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are several benefits we achieved since we implemented and use datapine actively:
a) gapless KPI-Monitoring & Reporting
b) Reduce amount of manual work / task to a minimum
c) Using forecasts / predictions for our strategic planning
d) Faster, data-driven decision making
e) Efficient cost-management that resulted in higher profits

  ### 14. Great, easy-to-use product and friendly customer support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2020

**What do you like best about datapine?**

The product offers all the analytics features we need to build and share our KPI dashboards with ease. Everyone within the company has now access to the relevant data he needs to make informed decisions. Whenever we were in contact with their customer support/data team, they were super friendly and helpful.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

When we started working with datapine, we needed to invest some time to get used to the software and how to take advantage of all its features. But in my opinion, this is standard, if you already don't have extensive experience with professional BI tools. But all in all, datapine is quite easy to use.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With datapine, we have now one central point of access to all our relevant company data, as we were able to connect different data sources from different business divisions. Therefore, everyone is working with the same data basis, which makes the whole process less error-prone. Thanks to their great dashboards, information can be presented in a professional, compressed format with lots of interactivity. This has led to more informed decision making within the whole company.

  ### 15. A unique tool that handles all of our data!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2020

**What do you like best about datapine?**

The main advantage of the software is that it became our single point of access for all of our business information, and we don’t need other tools and solutions to manage our data. We can easily connect different sources whenever we need them, and their support is brilliant.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

We think there should be more tutorials about the advanced SQL mode since we don’t have an in- house analyst to help us out.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The overall experience with datapine was positive and productive. They helped us with the setup, explained the basics, provided resources, and enabled us to perform analysis on our own. Every question was answered in a timely manner, and their support has been great!

  ### 16. Amazing Dashboards

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabian L. | Independent Virtualization Blogger, Consultant & Instructor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2020

**What do you like best about datapine?**

The product has a simple interface and enough charts to present various metrics, and help me in my strategic and operational process monitoring. I can create appealing dashboards and prepare myself for meetings much quicker but also automate reports, therefore, I have more time to focus on the data itself and other tasks. All the information on the dashboard is pulled in real-time so I don’t have to manually calculate values or lose time in Excel. I find this highly effective in my line of work. My clients are impressed with the product and the results I bring with interactive dashboards and reports, therefore, any business questions that arise, we can immediately answer.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

I would like more tutorials about how to use their SQL box so that I can build my own queries in the future.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted to have better presentations for our meetings since, in the past, most of us created slides that couldn’t be adjusted once the meeting starts. datapine is a great dashboard software where we could immediately zoom and drill into various parts of the dashboard, so our presentations became more effective.

  ### 17. datapine is an easy-to-use BI solution to skyrocket your sales performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aditya G. | Head Of Sales, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2019

**What do you like best about datapine?**

We needed software that will serve as a one-stop-shop for our sales efforts. The quality of our sales performance skyrocketed as soon as we started working with datapine. As a Head of Sales, I have to manage, analyze and report on numerous operational and strategic goals while respecting high-quality standards. The speed was also an issue since our disparate departments in various locations couldn’t keep up with regular reporting requests and data was often out of date. I needed to predict the future of sales, but the quality of our operational processes couldn’t deliver 100% accurate data at any given point in time which made my work harder and affected sales as a result. After testing various vendors with a free trial, we decided to sign up with datapine and we’re still their clients, 100% satisfied.
I was completely surprised by their powerful features – from analyzing huge amounts of data, interactive dashboarding, and customized reporting. I could easily connect my sales related data sources and with a simple drag-and-drop visualize and monitor all our important sales KPIs such as sales growth, customer lifetime value, upsell & cross-sell rates etc. They also offer quite useful dashboard templates, that I used when creating dashboards for the whole sales team. Therefore, the initial setup was fast and easy.
Reports are another key component that made the whole sales department work faster and more accurate. We set up multiple sales reports with different purposes, that everyone can access easily. Thanks to the interactive features they offer, it is for every user quite easy to ask important sales questions and answer them ad hoc. Usually, I would have spent days on creating a comprehensive strategic report with outdated data, now it takes me few minutes to prepare for a C-level meeting with live data which I can use on our big screens as well. Now I have confidence that we work with high-quality information, all generated with one tool that made our sales performance much better.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

At the beginning when we joint in 2017, they didn’t have a convenient solution for mobile dashboards / reports to access your data on-the-fly. Thankfully they published in 2018 an app, that solves this issue. I really like the app and use in on my smartphone and tablet.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

If you search for a powerful and easy-to-use BI solution, you should take a closer look at datapine. You can test it 14 days for free and they offer free product demos, too.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We solved the problem of outdated reports and ineffective, inaccurate data analysis. Since we use datapine everyone in the team is able to make data driven decisions and our sales performance skyrocketed.

  ### 18. datapine helped us to get data-driven in every business aspect

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankur G. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2019

**What do you like best about datapine?**

I own a medium-sized business and employ various departments and roles. I needed software that
can consolidate all of my data and enable departmental managers to use it for their purposes. My
search ended with datapine since their features provided everything I was looking for.
My HR department can now manage employee performance and hiring processes on a much more
data-driven level. Analysts use their coding knowledge to build their own queries, and the marketing
department easily creates automated reports from all the channels we invest in. I have the
possibility to just log-in to the tool and see all the data visualized on my screen and monitor how

each department is performing. I also gained a wealth of knowledge about creating a more data-
driven culture, and our meetings are filled with dashboards which we can easily adjust to answer any

question at hand. We also use TV dashboards to see the data on a bigger screen and I must say, no
more PowerPoint presentations are allowed.
My team can easily create dashboards, send out reports, analyze all the figures we collect, and even
predict the future based on our past and current data. That makes my decisions much easier and
quicker while my confidence in our data management significantly increased. I can speak for my
whole company when I say that dashboards, reports, and analytical features from datapine
improved our performance and made my business more profitable. I can focus on issues
immediately and I don’t need to wait for a report from anyone longer than a few minutes. In fact, I
can build my own just by drag-and-drop my values, and automate it in my schedule.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

We didn’t use BI software before and of course, using datapine instead of Excel / PowerPoint is way
more expensive, but for us, totally worth it.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have now fast and uncomplicated access to our business data in one central analytics platform and everyone within the company is enabled to make data driven decisions.

  ### 19. Modern business intelligence solution for the whole company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2019

**What do you like best about datapine?**

I work as a business intelligence manager in a medium-sized enterprise and the amounts of retail data we generate on a daily basis are enormous (online and offline). We have tried many analytics solutions on the market and finally signed up with datapine because of their intuitive interface and advanced analytics options. Most of the department was in favor of them, but I was a bit skeptical at the beginning. I was wrong. datapine not only provides me with an intuitive interface where I can simply visualize data by drag & drop and can share my analysis results on an interactive dashboard with colleagues outside from my department, but I can also easily switch to the SQL mode and write my own database queries or copy & paste existing ones.
A great tool is actually their predictive analytics feature. I’m constantly amazed by how simple it is built, but how much insight you can get just by clicking on a few required fields. You have to insert your specific data points to let the software calculate the forecast, and choose your model quality. I can directly see what’s going to happen in the next months and offer much more effective recommendations than I used to. For me, it works perfectly, and I don’t need to build complicated (predictive) data models on my own.
Another feature we use a lot are their data alerts. There we usually use the “neural network” or “pattern recognition & forecasting” alert for our most important KPIs. These intelligent alerts notify us automatically via email, for example, if the revenue of a specific product or product category is underperforming or when a product is getting significantly more bad user reviews. For us, these alerts work quite well, of course from time to time you also get a questionable alert, but most of the time they are quite accurate, and we save a lot of time, as manual monitoring/analysis is less needed.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

In the beginning, we were not sure if we maybe want to use their on-premise version. Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible to test the (customized) on-premise version in the way you can test their SaaS solution with a free trial. But at the end of the day that was not a big issue, as we decided nevertheless for the SaaS version.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

It’s a great all-in-one analytics solution, that offers easy-to-use features for business users as well as some advanced features for data analysts. Also, it was really helpful to ask non-technical business users for their feedback already during the buying process, which was quite positive.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Thanks to datapine we have now all relevant data sources unified in on a central point of access and can make comprehensive data analysis and share these results easily with other departments. With innovative features (some I already mentioned) we automated a lot of processes and the amount of manual, time-consuming tasked decreased a lot. From the other departments, we received just positive feedback about the shared dashboards/reports, especially as they are able to take a closer look at the data on their own using interactive dashboard features such as drilldowns, global filters and chart zooms.

  ### 20. A True Self-Service BI Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2019

**What do you like best about datapine?**

I’m not an analyst and I don’t have any SQL knowledge so I must say; I was a bit skeptical at the
beginning. I also wasn’t involved in the buying decision, therefore, I had limited opportunities to
choose which solution we are going to implement.
I was pleasantly surprised. The onboarding was extremely easy while the support from the
datapine’s data team was extremely helpful by guiding me in the process, answering all my
questions and doubts. I quickly started to use datapine on my own, building marketing and sales
analysis and other related fields of business development. I’ve easily connected all of my data
sources with a small help from the IT, and used their dashboard templates to build multiple
dashboards that were shared with C-level executives and other members of the team.
I used their dashboard templates quite often and I must admit how intuitive they are. Also, the
integrated icon library and advanced filter options (I was able to set up predefined filters for
different employees, for example). The sharing of the dashboards is also extremely simple, I could
send automated reports or simply copy the link and send it via e-mail. I could also choose to protect
it via password. Their data alerts feature sends me a notification each time something unexpected
happens based on my set business goals and specific KPIs. I don’t have to manually check my reports
or dashboards all the time, so this feature is extremely helpful if you manage lots of data.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

There are some features you need to get used to. For example, if you set up calculated fields the first
time. There you have access to a lot of predefined functions that are a bit overwhelming at the
beginning, but you get used to it quite fast.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

If you search for a powerful and easy-to-use BI solution, you should take a closer look at datapine.
You can test it 14 days for free and they offer free product demos, too.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We solved the problem of inefficient data analysis and making decisions based on gut feelings. With
datapine we make better and faster business decisions.

  ### 21. Our top choice for automating processes

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2019

**What do you like best about datapine?**

I needed a solution to cut down hours spent on reporting. Each week and month we have a management meeting on which we discuss our operational and strategic initiatives, depending on the team involved. We used spreadsheets and the time spent on generating reports, analyzing, and discussing, was simply time-consuming. Our productivity was affected, and we needed an effective solution to automate this process with visualizations that will communicate clearly and on-point each part of our business, without the need to outsource this task or burden my team even more. I wanted a self-service solution and, with datapine, got it.
I was pleasantly surprised in many ways since datapine managed to completely eliminate spreadsheets, and with a few clicks, I was certain that my reports will be on time each week, each month, to the specified person on the team. I only needed to open them before the meeting and discuss the results.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

It took me some time to get a grasp of all of their features. For example, I don't use (or know) SQL, but if I would ever need it, I know I can utilize their advanced features as well.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

I can completely recommend using datapine, especially if you're a business owner looking for increased productivity. Their customer service is also helpful so you won't be lost or forced to do everything by yourself.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automation of reports that we can discuss in our management meetings (weekly and monthly). I didn't want to scroll through spreadsheets to look for information, and I didn't want to burden my team to generate a visually comprehensive and detailed report. It was just taking too much time and effort. datapine saved us a lot of hours and increased our productivity level since we can concentrate on other important tasks to grow our business.

  ### 22. datapine helped us to make our reporting more effective

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2019

**What do you like best about datapine?**

Our challenge was to improve our reporting of the results of quantitative market research studies. The usual workflow was to analyze first the data with SPSS / RStudio and then put together a PowerPoint presentation with the results, that was shared internally. Especially if you need to look at the data from many different perspectives and different filters (age groups, different products, locations, etc) we needed to create one PowerPoint slide just to answer one specific question. Believe me, that was a lot of slides. With datapine’s interactive dashboards we were able to show the analysis results on one single dashboard with all the filter options we need. This makes the presentation of the analysis results way more effective and interactive. Moreover, especially for ongoing tracking studies where you get every month the same data (for example for the customer satisfaction, NPS, etc.), we save a lot of time, as the complete process is now automated.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

The only “bad” thing that is worth a mention is, that you need to know SQL for some advanced analytics features, as not all queries can be done by drag & drop.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Like I mentioned the challenge was to present our analysis results in a more effective and interactive way, that also gives the recipients the possibility to drill-down on their own into the analysis results or looking in a meeting spontaneously at the data from a different perspective. Thanks to a lot of interactive dashboard features and convenient sharing options this challenge is mastered.

  ### 23. Disappointing Service

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neil S. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2019

**What do you like best about datapine?**

It does the job it says on the tin - certainly not the best option out there though especially at their price point.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

Our main gripes with Datapine are their contract models and their customer service. They are clearly driven by money over customer satisfaction and this is confirmed by their subscription model that essentially traps you. You sign uip to a six month contract - however need toi give 8 weeks notice if you no longer wish to continue. There are no communications about an upcoming renewal and there is no visibility in your account about any sort of dates around this. You also have to provide written notice to do this. All very sneaky tactics employed by Datapine to lock as many people in as possible.

When we reached out to Datapine to see if they could do anything to help us (this is 1 weeks prior to a contract renewal and not 8) they were very unhelpful, did not care at all and responded with very passive aggressive communication.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our business use case for Datapine was to display data on screens around our office. There many options of this out there that won't try and rip you off, offer a better service and have a better product.

**Official Response from Heiko Tröster:**

> Dear Mr. Neil S.,

thank you for your honest review and for using datapine for your data display. We do believe that customers are important and we do constantly improve various areas, including our communication with our prospective clients. We’re sorry you experienced issues with your contract since we dedicate ourselves to provide the best possible customer experience, including detailed information about our subscription possibilities and the time needed to cancel the cooperation.

  ### 24. Stay away

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan E. | Founder & CEO, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2018

**What do you like best about datapine?**

Once upon a time, the product offered some capable features.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

Their product at one point was competitive but little has changed over the years except for their ever-increasing pricing. Tableau and Power BI is far more powerful, cheaper and easier to use. Be wary, they require 4 months notice just to cancel their contract. Give them anything less and they will renew you automatically for another two years. (unheard of)

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

stay away

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reporting of various KPI's

**Official Response from Heiko Tröster:**

> Thanks for your review! We're very sorry if you encountered difficulties while using our software since we want to make sure each customer receives the best possible service and experience. We're constantly improving our UX, also by listening to our customers' feedback which is extremely important in the current and future development of our product. We're dedicated to offer a truly self-service tool, and regularly develop new features, such as our recent self-service predictive analytics, somehow unique within the market. Our software has changed in the last years, but the focus on our customers is always one of our priorities, therefore it's quite a misfortune that you didn't reach out to us before your cancellation.

We also try to deliver our contracts with clear termination time and we advise each customer to contact us if there are any doubts. In your specific case, the longer cancellation time was because of a 2-year contract, that included pricing discounts as well.

  ### 25. The #1 software for data visualization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaylin E. | Sales Marketing Manager, Consumer Electronics, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about datapine?**

The BI tool, great for collecting data and visualization. I like that it's an easy software to use and reporting and UI are amazing.

**What do you dislike about datapine?**

The software is quite slow and I have to reload the page a few times until it works.

**Recommendations to others considering datapine:**

Definetely woud recommend this program to every person working in the sales field.

**What problems is datapine solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to understand more about our data and we use the insights. I like that our company has improved a lot since we use this software and it even makes the job easier and faster.
