## ConnectWise Automate Reviews
 ### 1. Great Performance and Web UI, But Web Feature Gap Persists

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cory S. | Technical Services Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Its a long time program and system that has years of legacy behind it, giving it leg up compared to the competition. UI is good when using via the browser. Performance is great, but the web version does lack what the native windows program has.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Overall there are some issues that need to be addressed. The difference between the web version and windows program are still miles apart. Feature parity seems to be quite a ways away. Support is ok, but can be tricky to get in touch with at times. the UI on the windows program is dated, and looks better on the web version. However the web version is lacking in features in comparison.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allowed me to get patch management and remote access under 1 pane of glass.

 ### 2. Big Gap Between App and Browser Capabilities, Plus Confusing Naming Changes

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt K. | Director of Information Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Simple integrated login / SSO.
Platform/OS interoperability.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

There is a large disparity between capabilities in the installed application and browser-based capabilities.
Naming conventions and changes to naming conventions are often difficult.
Interfaces are generally 'clunky' feeling.
Script deployment is buried and ambiguous.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allowed us to bridge the gap to exit relationships with other platforms. It allowed dispersion of agent installations between platforms to mitigate single-source security risks.

 ### 3. All-in-One Asset Management and Inventory Control Made Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Torrey T. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Everything I need for asset management, inventory control and users is conveniently in 1 place.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

It takes a while to get everything set up correctly. I'm not talking about the refine as you go. I mean the initial set up takes ages.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us track our inventory and which users have said inventory. It was the wild west here before. Now I know who has IT assets and how long.

 ### 4. Robust Features but needs improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob H. | Technical Analyst II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I like ConnectWise Automate's features before it was set to sunset and then moved to other RMMs. It was valuable for remote staff as it offered tools that SCCM lacked, like paste tools and file transfer options, which a standard homebrew couldn't provide.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

ConnectWise Automate had quite a few bugs, with one of the major ones being breaking updates, which sometimes made it unable to remote in due to updates. Also, devices with similar properties would absorb one another. The MAC/Serial address absorption was definitely a bigger issue, and having to redo installs was not fun.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ConnectWise Automate solved the difficulties of SCCM setups, providing more visibility and remote control options. It was valuable for remote staff with tools like paste and file transfer, which standard systems lacked.

 ### 5. Reliable Remote Chat and Patching from Anywhere

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Randall D. | Manager Corporate IT & Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Ability for Chat with remote user without remote desktop connection and ability to patch and keep system updated no matter where the end user is located. Always a relliable connection (only limitations are the internet connection).

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Sometimes it is difficult to deploy client with cloud only connectivity (EntraID) no on prem

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

none at the moment

 ### 6. Highly Customizable RMM Tool That Sets the Standard

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** patrick w. | VCIO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Automate is an essential tool in the RMM marketplace. It's ability to be customized puts it ahead of many of the other rmm tools on the market.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

It feels like a product that is being deprioritized by Connectwise. If it is not monitored or properly configured the information can become unusable. It needs a strong admin to get the best from the product. Lacks ease of use.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Device management, reporting, and control for multiple clients and large scale system support

 ### 7. Easy-to-Customize Support Features with the Built-In Script Engine

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian D. | Free, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2026

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Easy to customize support features and response times by using the built in script engine interface

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Sometimes complex and time consuming research and experimentation needed to get custom scripts working exactly as wanted.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The fact that our internal support cell was only 2 people supporting 10 other internal companies

 ### 8. By Far the Most Useful RMM I’ve Ever Used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

By far the most useful RMM I've ever used. Only downside is the gui is slow to load.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

GUI is slow to load. The website is much faster

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've since moved on to a different RMM. But Automate was and is the defacto standard for RMMs.

 ### 9. Essential Automation Tool for Managing Thousands of Machines

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David V. | Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Automate is the core of our business, and helps us manage over 2500 machines

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The UI is getting dated, and this version of the product is still supported, but development efforts are being applied to the newest version.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing over 2,500 machines with established standards and policies, while also providing a comprehensive overview of client machines and up-to-date information on their hardware and software statuses.

 ### 10. Sometimes it can overwhelm you

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Crystal T. | Network and Compliance Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I love how it monitors everything on a client's site and send alerts when something is wrong.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

But it can be tough to see 400+ alerts at 8am, because of a power blip at our office monitoring servers at clients' sites and it can be the same alerts over and over.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CWA keeps us proactive in protecting and being aware of disruptions, with hardware or within the network at our clients' site. Being able to monitor and get alerts of servers not having enough space, batteries or a UPS needing to be changed out, to Temp sensors letting us know a server room is becoming too warm we are on it before the customer feels any pain.

 ### 11. Very Helpful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harry Q. | Junior IT Support Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2024

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Very easy to implement and use on the daily. Easy to add agents and support is good. Many features such as WOL and many intergrations supported.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Takes a while to reinstall agents sometimes.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instant remote support capability.

 ### 12. Ticketing system made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anjuman C. | IT Technician, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2024

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

It makes it easier to view all of my tickets, and colleagues tickets. I am alerted when a ticket SLA is getting nearer to the contracted time and alerts me to update tickets.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Connection issues being intermittent or site being down.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It reminds me to update tickets which send directly to my emails, and alerts me of Priority 1 tickets.

 ### 13. Automate is the goto for any MSP looking for a powerful workstation management solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** maylasia e. | Network Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

the ease of deployment and the remote capapiblites to meet customer needs

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

When a machine has not checked in it can be a challenge getting the software to work again

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the ability to connect to customer sites and workstations from anywhere in the world.

 ### 14. Great product, but became stagnant

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven T. | Solutions Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2024

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

The creenconnect intergration was amazing and the patching, while a little clunky worked great

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

My biggest issue the the difficulty in scripting and the lack of updates from Coonectwise. It felt like a dying software.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It made it easy for us to assist user and the flexibilty with EDFs and reports was very helpful

 ### 15. Great RMM for both Internal IT and MSP

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyson W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2023

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Automate makes connecting with my users fast and easy. We use it daily to connect with end users to provide troubleshooting support. We also have several scheduled scripts that run across all of our workstations to keep products up to date and improve the quality of life for both our users and our IT staff.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The desktop admin client is cumbersome. It takes a significant amount of time to load the application and you must refresh your session every 24 hours. The 24 hour time-out wouldn't be an issue if it didn't close the application when the session expired but rather let you just re-authenticate.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have 20 different office locations spread across the United States with a small IT staff that is not present at each office. Automate allows us to provide support similar to what we could give if we were physically present in each office.

 ### 16. Automation for MSP Success

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benjamin K. | Manager of Systems Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2023

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Utilizing Automate is a skys limit sort of software. If you have on staff scripters or developers, it can make that even better. If you can think of it automate can do it. We've utilized it to be able to fully setup a new machine from scratch for a particular client. Have it running general maintenance tasks and then billing for it. We are able to catch many critical issues earlier and before the client even notices which is a win.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

There is always the question looming if CW is going to do away with Automate and force everyone over to the more expensive CW RMM (Continuum NOC) version of their remote management platform. Automate has a steep learning curve beyond the surface-level inputs. You must know how to utilize various windows script languages and coding languages to really leverage all its features. If you don't know how there are companies that sell block time to setup things for you, at a cost $$.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Giving us a way to manage and operate many endpoints with fewer staff than you would most likely need. At a little over 4000 agents out in the world, it makes our jobs much more accessible. A way to remote in, run backdoor tasks without the client knowing for cleanup and fixing GPO issues. Really its filling a void N-Able left with their atrocious software.

 ### 17. Best RMM tool out there

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris B. | IT Services Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2023

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Alot of 3rd party integrations make it very usefull. Scripting is great and allows us to automate somay things.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

New feature development is slow woudl like to see more in this area.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it extensivly for make system changes/updates and deploying new software. It saves ALOT of tech time.

 ### 18. ConnectWise

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2024

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

It's truly automate system for IT mamagement

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

So far i don't have any complaints about this product

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remotely support - super useful. We also use Automate to do a lot of automation things for the servers like reboot script, update local admin password, install applications, etc...

 ### 19. Automate Automates

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William M. | Helpdesk Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2023

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

It does what it says. Its an RMM tool that not only gives a solid overview of network health and executive summaries but lets you drill deep into each device to solve problems and plan for the future. The scripting and search functionality allow you to manage systems without needing to waste time logging in and doing everything by hand. It does what it says on the box.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The learning curve is a bit steep and there's some functionality on the client version that isn't available on the web version, so I end up having both versions up at a time to do everything I need to do.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automate is the core of our business. As an RMM tool, it is essential to allow us to manage client environments and devices remotely. It makes management easy, which allows us to support more clients more thoroughly.

 ### 20. Top CRM and HelpDesk Solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott B. | System Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2023

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Where to begin? There are so many capabilities of client management tools we use on a daily basis. CWA is our go-to for Agent access, pushing Windows Patching and third-party updates. We have monitors in place that help us be PROactive instead of REactive.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

You'll have issues if the agent stops responding, which runs on the workstation or laptop. The only flaw currently is the lack of knowledge we sometimes encounter when opening a service ticket with support.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Staying ahead of issues, allowing patching to deploy on our standards. Keeping an eye on crucial agents running critical client systems with monitors and alerts in place. Ease of organizing clients by site and location. Training modules for staff and teams to use effectively.

 ### 21. Solid, Powerful tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew W. | Technical Support Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2023

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

The software really allows the business to implement a huge range of customizations and business processes. If you're willing to put the time in the software can be fantastic

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The first level support for Connectwise Automate is poor. For software designed for MSPs they certainly start out assuming you know nothing about computers.

The software UI is also very clunky and new features are pretty lacking at this point.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote monitoring and management of a wide variety of Windows workstations and servers.

 ### 22. Connectwise Automate has been through many ups and downs, but still remains in the top of the class

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William P. | Cloud Project Manager, Computer & Network Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2022

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Automate can be unwiedly for new users, but it is more or less capable of ANYTHING. I see that as a net positive despite any complexity barriers. Many other RMM tools cannot do all of the things that Automate can do.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The aforementioned complexity can be a real barrier. The MSP I am a part of hires out a third party service simply to assist us with managing and deploying all of the aspects of Automate that we need.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automate can connect to almost anything, deploy almost anything and be a support system for an entire IT department. That is no small feat. We receive alerting and data that is crucial to us.

 ### 23. Wonderful Remote Access Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Travis V. | IT Technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2023

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

ConnectWise's remote access software is a great addition to any IT department. The portal is very user friendly and allows complete control and detailed information on the machine being worked on.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

I do not have a negative thing that I can think of about the ConnectWise software. It is very versatile and allows you to manage the device off of one screen instead of needing to transition.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ConnectWise is allowing our IT department to easily manage and configure devices from a remote location instead of needing to have them in hand. This allows for the warehouse and sales team to not have to physically see IT in person.

 ### 24. Allows us to Automate many tasks...

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe W. | Lead Cloud Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2022

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

The product is full of many Automation features such as monitoring and scripting however when manual intervention is needed it does have a lot of extra tools such as command prompt and file explorer etc.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

It doesn't integrate very well with 3rd party ticketing solutions, many IT providers will likely already have their own helpdesk/service desk platform, but Automate wants you to use it's own built-in ticketing system for alerts.
Also the lack of mobile apps is frustating.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to monitor a variety of devices, if issues arise the system automatically takes action, but there's a variety of manual built-in tools if required.

 ### 25. Best Prebuilt automation scripts solves most of the IT Needs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Murugesh P. | Sr.systems Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2023

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

1. Single central patch management system
2. Customized policy for specific (dynamic ) needs
3. Endpoint Management (incredibly remote connect) for support
4. Distribute software remotely on specific time deployment

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

1st-time installation of the screenconnect client (3MB takes a longer time to install) . Sometimes hangs on the non-administrator system instead of prompting a password.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Remote connecting endpoints for Management when the devices are in a different location
2. To get to know the latest event products from home connectwise

 ### 26. It can do ANYTHING, which is the problem

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2022

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Any ideas you have any how to run your MSP and patch management it can handle. Any nuanced is you have, it should be able to accommodate. It has a good amount of integrations and can act alone for managing your company.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

I was warned that it is a BEAST to learn. I extremely understood how much involvement would be needed to learn how to even deploy on a small number of clients. They have resources and consultants and a university to learn how to use the product. After 2 months I gave up. I can't imagine training someone in my company how to do all I learned.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is great for patch management and support. You'll probably need to use Manage as well to get the full effect. Screen Connect is a great product and plays perfectly into CWA.

 ### 27. CWA: All in One

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven L. | MSP Service Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2022

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

ConnectWise Automate is perfect along side ConnectWise Manage. Automate takes the stress out of remote support and scheduled maintenance. Remote access and endpoint management is made easy.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

ConnectWise Automate doesn't necessarily have downsides. You need to be familiar with the tool to use it. For remote access, I prefer to use ConnectWise Control.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ConnectWise Automate continues to work on their notifications sent to ConnectWise Manage. You can customize how and when you want to see alerts. Maintenance mode has been super beneficial.

 ### 28. Connectwise Automate has greatly streamlined and improved our service offerings.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason W. | NOC & SOC Team Lead - Senior Data Center Network & Telephony Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

We like how customizable it is and have not seen an IT challenge that it could not help us with. From Path Management to scripting to inventory it just works. We reviewed several other products and this product had the most robust product as well as the support.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

My only real complaint is sometimes the data isn't current and you have to poll for updated information from the endpoint. but this is due to the timing of the polling and the workload of the server.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patch Management was our main reason for getting this product. We manage thousands upon thousands of endpoints and this product allows us to get this done with minimal staff involvement.

 ### 29. Good enough for now

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew C. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Provides us the ability to script a significant majority of the necessary tasks to onboard a customer's computer.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The User Interface is from the early 2000's

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of the standard stuff like computer monitoring. The biggest part of what we use it for is automating the onboarding of customer's computers. We've taken a process that normally takes 3-4 hours and gotten it down to 5-10 minutes.

 ### 30. Good System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2023

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Connectwise is a good system to connect all you device on one place.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The add in and having to script your own scripes

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Everything is in one app

 ### 31. Comprehensive but Complex Remote Monitoring and Management

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2022

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

The product includes functionality to automate patching and remote computer management functions. Its built-in dashboards provide information about computers' status. As a managed service provider, Automate makes it easy to manage computers in multiple environments concurrently.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

We found the implementation complex, requiring technicians to complete a battery of courses during onboarding and involving significant time with an implementation specialist. The learning curve has been challenging, and six months after implementation, we're still not realizing the time savings that the system is designed to facilitate.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Automate is designed to perform a variety of functions on remote endpoints. Note that you will want to dedicate staff to designing, configuring, and maintaining the system. Consider reporting and automation requirements. Unlike some RMM's, Automate does not maintain its own patch database; it relies upon Windows update (but does patch third-party software). To that, patch reports are based upon successful installations and not a comprehensive list of missing patches. Report design is involved, and there are limited fields upon which you can query the database without building advanced custom reports.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We switched to Automate to replace an on-premise remote monitoring and management system, subject to frequent reliability issues. By moving to ConnectWise's SaaS environment, we have eliminated the need to maintain our on-premise system and have realized reliability gains in terms of service availability.

 ### 32. ConnectWise Automate makes remote PC management easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2021

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

There are several high points.
It is easy to locate a PC.... you can search by last logged in user, by computer name, or from a list
No action is required from the end-user to connect once setup this is a plus over a similar tool
There are several useful options once connected. A helpdesk technician can easily copy files to the remote PC.
It also has a tool box tha you can add comon files to so they will be available for easy acess as you connect to different computers
There is a wake lock feature to keep the PC from going to sleep while you are connected.
There is also an auto-reconnect featre if you have to reboot.
It can also push down updates to remote machines
There are a number a scripts thatcan be run on a remote PC in the back ground with out havng to connect or bother the user.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Sometimes it will randomomly not be able to connect even though the agent is running on the remote PC. This is not happen often but is frustaitng when it does.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2017

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I enjoy the ticketing aspect of it entirely. It allows me to pull reports when needed to view how much some techs are working verse how much time some customers are consuming.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The reports are a little hard to get detailed as you'd like. I usually have to export them and then edit them instead of doing it prior. If this could be incorporated as a module, that would be wonderful!

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

It's a good ticketing tool that has a lot of other uses as well such as a knowledge base. It doesn't let you see your own queue however so keep that in mind.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with our need for constant note-taking. Helpdesk can pull up clients easily and notate them and then go back and pull them up later is a considerable assistance.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I like the functionality of the scripts. We are able to have systems reboot over night, push through windows updates and send us monitoring alerts.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

It can be very difficult to set up. The default interface is cluttered and has too many options.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are more efficient as we can automate tasks to run overnight or during the day without manually having to do them. This saves time and money.

The full-scale multi-location reporting off of SQL Queries really makes it easy to create simple reports for your NOC operations

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Some features are harder to take advantage of, and harder to program. Works best if you have someone dedicated to the Connectwise automation programming and support or support through a 3rd party.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having full multi-location alerts, with full multi-location control, support, deployment... in an easy and fast and comfortable to use. It made updates, access, support and deployment a breeze

Automate as an RMM is feature rich and allows for remote management and monitoring of diverse endpoints, integrates with Connectwise Manage and IT Glue very well

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

It has limited support for Linux and OSX systems, there is no management capabilities with mobile devices

We use automate to remotely manage and connect to our clients systems

 ### 42. Beware of Connectwise Automate

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2020

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

The tools are good. I really like how fast I can connect to a client when they call. It has so much potential.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Terrible. Your RMM tool is really important and you want a company that is trying to help your business grow by having great additions for the platform and services that you can then offer your clients and perspective clients. Connectwise has wanted to extract as many dollars out of my pocket and have no intention of having a business relationship what so ever. In my 24 years in the industry I have never had a company treat me this way but they did and continue to. I have heard from 30+ other companies ceo's saying similar things that there is not partnership just a money grab.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Run the other way. They are losing clients like you and me every month. I thought it would be a great partnership but I was completely wrong. They were purchased by another company that I believe is trying to take it public and money talks and no action or care. You want a company that helps you with the platform and they get you setup and have a nice day. Everything after that is at a cost. There are other companies that have unlimited support and there is a reason they have an easier platform that is built in the last 5 to 7 years and built to do what we have asked for from the beginning so if you still make the move to Connectwise Automate you can only blame yourself.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because I can't count on Connectwise to be a valuable partner with my company I am having to change once again to a new product and go through the learning pain of a new platform. I wish there was a way to make it right but over a year of getting nowhere we finally have had to move on. A real shame I thought we were with the leader.

 ### 43. Simple and powerful tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yoriesly d. | Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2020

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Screen connect is very fast and easy to use to remote controls remote machines

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Sometimes there are issues with duplicate agents for Thin Clients or VDI's. In addition to that there are bugs that needs to fixes for Mac iOS so you will be able to use all the features the same way as for windows devices.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

I really recommend CW to other small or large scale organizations that is interest in automation, control, easy management and that want a system who is capable to improve your day to day task.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the benefits are the scripts and patching, these two features are very convenient for large organizations where most of the systems are base of automatization. I'm able to patch more than 1000+ servers with Automate, as well as run scripts that facilitate process, services and schedule tasks.

 ### 44. Handy software, but a little rough around the edges

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert L. | Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2016

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I like the scripts that come with automate and the ability to add scripts to help with ongoing maintenance of devices. This can and has saved time doing routine maintenace.

The alerts are also handy and create a good history of what is going on with a device. Is an alert a one-off issue or is it repeatable and requires some proactive action to keep my clients systems running optiminally. These 'alerts' form tickets which I use as a reporting tool to show my clients what has been worked on over the past 30-days.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Two things that I dislike

1. back in 2017 Connectwise changed their reporting tool. They have got rid of reporting that was designed off of Crystal Reports or similar. Was easy to understand and create your own reports. Now the reporting tool is some other engine that has verfy little documentation on how to create new reports.
In addition, their scheduled reports do not fire off correctly. Since day 1, I have received reports titled for one client, but the details of the report is for a different client. It's 2020 now, and as of nearly two months ago, I kept getting on support's case about this matter and that it's never been fixed and that it's a security risk. Since support finally worked through two calls to 'fix' the issue and left the ticket open should the result come back the same (which it did) it's now been moved "up the chain" - have not heard anything back from support or development yet.

The second issue is suport. I mentioned in an earlier reivew that there is no longer an 800 number to call for support, you have to either open a ticket via a portal and do email correspondance or you need to open a chat session and at times can take well over an hour.

If I'm doing a roll-out to a new client, i stand by my opionon that if I run into a problem, I want to call someone for support so I can complete my roll-out and move on, not waste time at a client site or have to put the roll-out on hold for one or two days. By which time, it's next to impossible to replicate the issue becuase when support does reach out to me, I'm not able to get on my customer's site.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Connectwise does have a lot of training available.

If you cherish talking to a live person for support, this really won't be your cup of tea.

If you like to design your own reports, maybe you'll have better luck then myself to get reports designed.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding failed drives and getting alerts for them before the drive actually fails. Finding bottlenecks in memory as well and boosting computer memory to make the system respond better.

 ### 45. Great for many things

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arabella C. | Information Technology Technician, Telecommunications, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2019

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

The most helpful thing about connect wise automate is that you can see all the computers specs without actually doing a remote session into the clients computer. In addition, it's helpful to be able to sort computers by company or by group. In addition, I like that we can use connect wise on computers that don't have the agent installed, by using our link to start a remote session which becomes visible in our side in the support sessions viewer.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

One downside of connect wise is that I have found that a few clients are unable to use the agent. We haven't figured out why. In addition, in the past five months, connect wise has gone down twice, which caused us to have a lot of down time and were unable to help customers while connect wise automate wasn't working so we couldn't do remote sessions.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

I can't think of anything off hand, the service is pretty straight forward. If you can't use it without direction, then you shouldn't be using it.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We solve many problems with connect wise automate, as an IT Managed service provider, having a reliable screen sharing software and the ability to push scripts without doing a re mote session is amazing. Basically our entire business revolves around the use of connect wise automate. When it goes down, we go down.

 ### 46. Good desktop app but web sucks

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexis T. | Customer Success Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2019

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I like the full view you can get into endpoint machines. the reporting is comprehensive and generally useful. the 2FA is a much needed upgrade, so nice job CW>

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

the desktop version is very slow and can bog down my machine quickly. The web version has about 1/4 the functionality of the desktop app. Reports are clunky and hard to refine for usefulness. A lot of unneeded white space really racks up the page count.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Be sure to get the monthly consulting if you decide to use this product. it makes a big difference in the learning curve and can provide a lot of value in features you didn't know about before.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connect Wise Automate lets you have a clear view into endpoint machines and servers. it's an easy way to manage all 1500+ endpoints managed by our company and is more secure than competitors. Support is wonderful.

 ### 47. How to use ConnectWise to his effectiveness

**Reviewed by:** Stella N. | Compliance Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I like the fact that I can schedule, track, bill and transfer to QB from ConnectWise without any issue

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The fact that we do not get any notifications prior to any new update

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

This is the most easiest platform to use and not costly as well

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing people working under us as well as all the projects that we do for our clients

 ### 48. Endpoint Management has never been so easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jereme S. | Proactive Engineer , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2019

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

The ability for scripts, management, patching, and grouping in this software is INSANE. The ability to simply click on a device an have total control over it remotely with no downtime for the user is critical for our MSP.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Installing the agent is clunky. It's a necessity, however can be cumbersome at times with onboarding clients.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

I highly recommend getting the whole suite for ConnectWise as it integrates seamlessly with eachother. If you're an MSP, ConnectWise should be at the top of your list to implement.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Device management and patching. The scalability of scripts goes as far as you can imagine. There are no limits.

 ### 49. Automate the monitoring of your equipment with ConnectWise Automate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor M. | Sistem Engenier, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2019

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

What I like most about ConnectWise Automate is that it keeps me up to date with the current status of the computers on my network, without the need to go from computer to computer, checking this in the first place because it allows you to set up monitors that measure the status of the devices. Equipment according to the parameter configured in it, secondly because it allows you to visualize all the monitored equipment through the same console, which makes management much faster, in addition to offering the possibility of executing commands remotely within the monitored equipment to solve minor problems without having to establish a remote connection.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

What I don't like about Connectwise Automate is that sometimes the application becomes too slow, especially when setting up a monitor or generating a report, and the other negative aspect is that there are times when it doesn't update the console automatically, so it's necessary to refresh the tool's cache to update the status of the equipment. Otherwise, the tool works very well and the monitors alert at the indicated time, thus helping to prevent damage to the monitored equipment.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

The recommendation is to request your trial version and start monitoring your equipment, I guarantee you will be hooked on this powerful tool.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main solution offered by Connectwise Automate is that it allows, through its centralized console, the management and monitoring of the devices on my network, in addition to taking action in case of a misconfiguration or any security alert within the device. The best part of all this is that it is very simple to implement and deploy, just enough to install an agent on the computers to be monitored and that's it.

 ### 50. Necessary software for any MSP

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle G. | Managed Services Supervisor, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Connectwise automate was completely worth the price. It is the only way that we could become a successful MSP.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The on board process was a little clunky.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Without any type of automation software like Connect wise Automate it will be very difficult for any MSP organization to succeed. This software solves most of the small easy to fix issues before the end user even knows they have an issue.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Connectwise Automate we have been able to automatically solve issue along with automating preventative measure for our supported systems to run smoothly.
