## ConnectWise Automate Reviews
  ### 1. Great Performance and Web UI, But Web Feature Gap Persists

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cory S. | Technical Services Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Its a long time program and system that has years of legacy behind it, giving it leg up compared to the competition. UI is good when using via the browser. Performance is great, but the web version does lack what the native windows program has.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Overall there are some issues that need to be addressed. The difference between the web version and windows program are still miles apart. Feature parity seems to be quite a ways away. Support is ok, but can be tricky to get in touch with at times. the UI on the windows program is dated, and looks better on the web version. However the web version is lacking in features in comparison.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allowed me to get patch management and remote access under 1 pane of glass.

  ### 2. Robust Features but needs improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob H. | Technical Analyst II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I like ConnectWise Automate's features before it was set to sunset and then moved to other RMMs. It was valuable for remote staff as it offered tools that SCCM lacked, like paste tools and file transfer options, which a standard homebrew couldn't provide.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

ConnectWise Automate had quite a few bugs, with one of the major ones being breaking updates, which sometimes made it unable to remote in due to updates. Also, devices with similar properties would absorb one another. The MAC/Serial address absorption was definitely a bigger issue, and having to redo installs was not fun.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ConnectWise Automate solved the difficulties of SCCM setups, providing more visibility and remote control options. It was valuable for remote staff with tools like paste and file transfer, which standard systems lacked.

  ### 3. Easy-to-Customize Support Features with the Built-In Script Engine

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian D. | Free, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2026

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Easy to customize support features and response times by using the built in script engine interface

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Sometimes complex and time consuming research and experimentation needed to get custom scripts working exactly as wanted.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The fact that our internal support cell was only 2 people supporting 10 other internal companies

  ### 4. Sometimes it can overwhelm you

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Crystal T. | Network and Compliance Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2024

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I love how it monitors everything on a client's site and send alerts when something is wrong.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

But it can be tough to see 400+ alerts at 8am, because of a power blip at our office monitoring servers at clients' sites and it can be the same alerts over and over.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CWA keeps us proactive in protecting and being aware of disruptions, with hardware or within the network at our clients' site. Being able to monitor and get alerts of servers not having enough space, batteries or a UPS needing to be changed out, to Temp sensors letting us know a server room is becoming too warm we are on it before the customer feels any pain.

  ### 5. Connectwise Automate has been through many ups and downs, but still remains in the top of the class

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** William P. | Cloud Project Manager, Computer & Network Security, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2022

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Automate can be unwiedly for new users, but it is more or less capable of ANYTHING. I see that as a net positive despite any complexity barriers. Many other RMM tools cannot do all of the things that Automate can do.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The aforementioned complexity can be a real barrier. The MSP I am a part of hires out a third party service simply to assist us with managing and deploying all of the aspects of Automate that we need.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automate can connect to almost anything, deploy almost anything and be a support system for an entire IT department. That is no small feat. We receive alerting and data that is crucial to us.

  ### 6. Allows us to Automate many tasks...

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe W. | Lead Cloud Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2022

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

The product is full of many Automation features such as monitoring and scripting however when manual intervention is needed it does have a lot of extra tools such as command prompt and file explorer etc.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

It doesn't integrate very well with 3rd party ticketing solutions, many IT providers will likely already have their own helpdesk/service desk platform, but Automate wants you to use it's own built-in ticketing system for alerts.
Also the lack of mobile apps is frustating.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to monitor a variety of devices, if issues arise the system automatically takes action, but there's a variety of manual built-in tools if required.

  ### 7. Perfect for the small MSP

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2017

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I enjoy the ticketing aspect of it entirely. It allows me to pull reports when needed to view how much some techs are working verse how much time some customers are consuming.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The reports are a little hard to get detailed as you'd like. I usually have to export them and then edit them instead of doing it prior. If this could be incorporated as a module, that would be wonderful!

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

It's a good ticketing tool that has a lot of other uses as well such as a knowledge base. It doesn't let you see your own queue however so keep that in mind.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with our need for constant note-taking. Helpdesk can pull up clients easily and notate them and then go back and pull them up later is a considerable assistance.

  ### 8. IT operations gets better

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gerardo D. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Friendly user interface. It has plenty of remote tools such as remote restart, monitoring, and send commands to computers

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Sometimes it gets a bit glitchy, and you have to close the window and reconnect it to complete the task. It also needs to get updates more ofter

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving monitoring task never being more manageable, also bulk installer to all computers on my company has been improved and with the benefit of all computers are up to date is a big plus

  ### 9. All in One package you need

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rommel L. | Sr IT Suppport, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2021

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

- Features that I like the most are Remote capability, Backend CMD/Powershell without user intervention, monitor the machine health and generate report, patch & updates management.
- Very customizable and programmable.
- Scripts can be made and do apply immediately to the machines
- Can create OU and specific policy for each unique setup.
- Can do the Weekly/monthly reports about the assets
- Connectwise support 24/7 and really good to resolve the issue

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

- Thick app slow performance
- Kinda delay reflection at the web app for any changes that you made.
- A lot of bugs and upon changes/patches there will be a new issue arises
-Not for non-IT usage

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

-Remote capability
-Assets management
-Centralized and controllable patches and updates
-Customizable policy and setup
-Providing support to end users

  ### 10. ConnectWise Automate Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I like the functionality of the scripts. We are able to have systems reboot over night, push through windows updates and send us monitoring alerts.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

It can be very difficult to set up. The default interface is cluttered and has too many options.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are more efficient as we can automate tasks to run overnight or during the day without manually having to do them. This saves time and money.

  ### 11. Handy software, but a little rough around the edges

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert L. | Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2016

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I like the scripts that come with automate and the ability to add scripts to help with ongoing maintenance of devices. This can and has saved time doing routine maintenace.

The alerts are also handy and create a good history of what is going on with a device. Is an alert a one-off issue or is it repeatable and requires some proactive action to keep my clients systems running optiminally. These 'alerts' form tickets which I use as a reporting tool to show my clients what has been worked on over the past 30-days.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Two things that I dislike

1. back in 2017 Connectwise changed their reporting tool. They have got rid of reporting that was designed off of Crystal Reports or similar. Was easy to understand and create your own reports. Now the reporting tool is some other engine that has verfy little documentation on how to create new reports.
In addition, their scheduled reports do not fire off correctly. Since day 1, I have received reports titled for one client, but the details of the report is for a different client. It's 2020 now, and as of nearly two months ago, I kept getting on support's case about this matter and that it's never been fixed and that it's a security risk. Since support finally worked through two calls to 'fix' the issue and left the ticket open should the result come back the same (which it did) it's now been moved "up the chain" - have not heard anything back from support or development yet.

The second issue is suport. I mentioned in an earlier reivew that there is no longer an 800 number to call for support, you have to either open a ticket via a portal and do email correspondance or you need to open a chat session and at times can take well over an hour.

If I'm doing a roll-out to a new client, i stand by my opionon that if I run into a problem, I want to call someone for support so I can complete my roll-out and move on, not waste time at a client site or have to put the roll-out on hold for one or two days. By which time, it's next to impossible to replicate the issue becuase when support does reach out to me, I'm not able to get on my customer's site.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Connectwise does have a lot of training available.

If you cherish talking to a live person for support, this really won't be your cup of tea.

If you like to design your own reports, maybe you'll have better luck then myself to get reports designed.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding failed drives and getting alerts for them before the drive actually fails. Finding bottlenecks in memory as well and boosting computer memory to make the system respond better.

  ### 12. A Pretty Good Monitoring And Management Platform For A MSP

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2019

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

As a MSP, we need a tool that allow us to monitor and manage many endpoints simultaneously at a very efficient level because our customers needs to be focus in their core bussiness, and not in the maintenance of theirs desktops and laptops.

ConnectWise Automate (Formerly Labtech) give us that and more, gived us the solution for thats repetitive tasks that take forever.

The integration with CW Control (Fornerly ScreenConnect) and CW Manage is very nice and smooth.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Its not a plug and play solution, you need to learn how to use it, and you need to learn a lot, the university give you some help, but still you need a connectwise consultant to implement it.

If you want to be a master administrator of this solution, you need the official courses, and are very expensives.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

This tool is not a one person administration, you will need a least two persons to deploy and mainten it.
Make all the personal that is going to use it, do the connectwise university course before it beging to use it, this will help to get a better understanding of CWA.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It reduces the attention and resolution time of all incident reported by our customers, and this is because we can do many background tasks without the final user even notices.

  ### 13. CW 3rd Party Patching

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler W. | Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2019

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I like how it's integrated into CW Automate. It's very easy to set up and create different policies.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

I dont like the small selection of apps that you can patch with it. It's limited to Adobe, Firefox, Chrome, Java, and a couple others. It's not very expensive, but Ninite has a much better selection.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

It depends on what you need to patch. If you need just the basics, this is a great tool. If you need more than Adobe, Java, chrome ,etc, then other tools may suite your needs better.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keep all of our clients up to date with all patches, especially security patches.

  ### 14. Simple to use once you understand the logic

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luke P. | System Administrator, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2018

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Connectwise does some things differently when it comes to patching. Once you understand the approval work flow it is pretty easy to start using the patching platform connectwise offers

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

I dislike how the patching section of connectwise seems to be very resource intensive and can be sluggish at times. There is also a learning curve which makes using the project challenging at first

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Be sure to know the architecture needed to support automate connectwise as the product is an absolute bear

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of management, managed from a central location, we no longer are using 3 different wsus servers across forest domains to manage updates for our 10,000+ workstations

  ### 15. Definitely a time saver

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason M. | Network Administrator, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2019

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

The connectwise third party patching has increased our productivity tremendously. We no longer have to worry about our client falling behind on typical third party software.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Sometimes there have been some hiccups with the software. They have been fairly limited but we have had issues where computers will get stuck in a loop trying to install software.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to focus more on other areas of our company. We dont have to spend as much time worrying about out of date third part software.

  ### 16. Automate Saving one computer at a time.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2018

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

The remote tools are the best. I can do anything from remote sessions to editing the registry remotely.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Depending on your level of access you have to go through a bunch of menus to get where you want to go. It will not keep you from editing the Registry, you just have to go though a bunch of sub menus to do it. While people with higher access only need to right click

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Make sure to give permission to Agents that will allow them ease of use to get to what they need.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote management. We have a lot of remote and mobile machines.

  ### 17. Great Software---Hate Commercialization though

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2018

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Its amazing what Connectwise has done with this software. The fact that I can have 40 locations and manage everything in one portal, from the helpdesk to the assets, to the policies implemented, its an amazing software for that piece.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Truly, the only thing I don't like about ConnectWise Automate is that the software has been commercialized even more since ConnectWise purchased/combined with Labtech. It was always great feeling like we were part of something "up and coming" but now its just huge and never-ending it feels like.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We solved our lack of company-connectedness by implementing ConnectWise. We were able to make all of our locations feel that headquarters hadn't forgotten about them and their IT needs. Tickets were responded to in a timely manner, necessary visits to these sites could be justified by the amount of interaction each site was having, as well as being able to set one person as the main contact at each site, was a great additive.

  ### 18. Great patch management

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2019

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

It's simple to use. The interface is great and easy to navigate. Pushing patches to clients is quick and easy to do. Seamlessly integrates with all other connect wise products.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Compared to other products it's lacking some newer features

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Client patch management. Easy management of multiple clients

  ### 19. You get out of it...what you put into it

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard A. | CEO and Chief Cultural Officer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2016

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I have yet to find a critical feature MISSING from Labtech - they've thought of everything. The integration with ConnectWise is as good as it gets (and getting better every month) and our team would be lost without it.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

What I like, and dislike, are related. With all of the features and capabilities that come with this robust RMM tool - there comes a responsibility and investment to learn it. And, there's a lot to learn. Not for the faint of heart and not for a 1-man band. That said, I would likely say the same thing of any other RMMs -- so the upside Labtech offers outweighs the learning curve...if you take the time to learn it well.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Identify a potential dedicated RMM ADMIN on your team - or outsource it (even better). In order to realize high ROI from this investment, you need expertise...don't underestimate that variable.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Patching, scriping/automation and agent monitoring are key 'wins' - and we seem to get smarter and smarter each day about new ways we can automatically remediate issues as they arise - which ultimately improves our efficiency and scalability.

  ### 20. Powerful Management Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Service Coordinator, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2018

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

All the information we can get for any machine at any customer.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Automate is a very slow loading program. It's not visually appealing either.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Need to fix loading speeds.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick access list to any machine. We use it to deploy software and updates. Use 3rd party integration to get more assistance as well.

  ### 21. Connectwise works pretty well.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Celestino F. | NOC Technician, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2017

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

The ability to connect almost instantly to client computers/server is amazing

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The new interface is clunky and looks to be built for tablets. We force it to load the old interface which has more information at a glance.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

I use this software on a daily basis to monitor our many clients and their servers, desktops, and other network devices. The ability to create scripts that will auto-trigger when specific events emerge makes it that much more beneficial.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to build custom scripting for specific issues had cut troubleshooting/repair times way down.

  ### 22. Great Tools for business

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2017

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

It is nice to have so many tools together when working with customers to resolve issues. Easy to tie records together for billing, customer contacts, scheduling and on and on.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Do not like that the direct email back to the contact is not easily readable in the tickets. Have to email as part of a time entry for the information to show in the notes thread.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Getting the proper setup and configuration for your environment will help in the long run. Do not rush to get something out but really think about what you want the tools to do for you.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primary work with customers to resolve reported issues. Tracking of the customer trends and repetitive issues are easily identifiable through the tools

  ### 23. Product allows for automation of simpel IT tasks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Riccardo F. | Business Process Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2017

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

This is a great product for allowing automation of simple IT tasks, like restarting a service, installing certain scripts, etc.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

It can sometimes have issues and cause the CPU or memory to run hot.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This helps us from having to touch every computer, etc. It also allows us to fix things on the fly.

  ### 24. Truely the best. You get what you pay for in life, we pay a little more for Labtech, but worth it.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean P. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2017

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Amazingly powerful! The Scripting engine can do so much, and the monitoring is extremely customization. But those who need it working out of the box, the ignite package is the quick and easy way to go to get you running very quickly.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Support requests are a little slow for e-mail and phone calls, but their chat is great for little one off questions.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Remember you get what you pay for, many RMM's are free but there is a great deal of setup involved to get it running where it is really usable. Labtech has their ignite "out of the Box" setup which is pre-configured with almost everything you would need for most systems. Setup of additional monitors is very easy. The scripting ability is very powerful, but it does require some time investment to learn the scripting in's and out's. Once you get just some of the basics learned it opens up a world of possibilities.

Labtech is constantly finding minor bugs and resolving them, and pushing the updates out to the partners. Which makes it easier to not worry about flaws. Initial support requests after your setup can take a day to get processed into an engineer, but their engineers are some of the most friendly and easy to talk with people. It's always a pleasure to work with them when we need to.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Name a Problem and we're trying to solve it for a client. Something that several of our clients like is the ability to put self help options into place for them. They click on our Company tray icon, select the self help menu option and can select customized self help options. From re-mapping their main network drive to downloading and installing software onto systems when employees switch workstations. Fewr calls to us, and happier clients.

  ### 25. Connectwise - MSP Gold

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sergey K. | IT Helpdesk II, Medical Devices, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2017

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Connectwise ticketing and labtech integration was amazing.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

A little clunky with a little too many features at times.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Great software to allow for scripting and automation on managing client systems.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MSP sized problems for many clients with built in time tracking, ticketing, and pricing for workers with user logins, and manageability being all excellent traits of this software.

  ### 26. Connectwise Automate

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2018

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Extremely powerful platform with ability to set and forget once configured

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Configuration is difficult - migration from existing platform has been complicated

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Spend as much time as possible planning before implementation

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring/Alerting for MSP
Gained granular data insight into endpoints and ability to automate based on alerts

  ### 27. One tool to rule them all!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Donovon C. | Service Desk Analyst, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2017

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

LabTech seemingly grows in importance and vitality every update. It allows complete control of your companies resources, from computers to servers and nearly everything in between. Scheduled commands give you access to powerful scripting engines that make repetitive tasks as simple as a right click. Auditing and reporting are built in and it is now easier than ever to manage your company's resources.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

With so many features, there are always going to be some bugs. Especially in an application with such a large scope. We've had issues with certain scripts not always running successfully, especially post upgrade or update. From time to time the screen connect ad on will require a re-install on a client machine. An agent will require a force update. Some minor bugs, but nothing that is completely unusable.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Give your implementation team adequate time to familiarize themselves with the software before rolling it out. We have a dedicated person who's job is primarily to ensure that LabTech and over vital systems are up to date and performing correctly. This has been vital knowledge to have when asking training related questions, and has provided me with the tools needed to expand my own use of the software. Additionally, it is helpful to look into the integrations available with LabTech. There are so man, such as the Shadowprotect integration, that really make the software invaluable.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to use Labtech to manage patching for servers and desktops, monitor backups, monitor server uptimes and alert us when servers or sites go offline. We are able to install software simply by installing the agent and moving the computer to the correct container. We have been able to report on the software installed or the resources available for a client on the fly. We are also able to provide our clients with services such as detecting changes in a file system via LabTech ticketing.

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2017

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

ConnectWise is very user-friendly and from client acquisition to billing, flows through from start to finish seemlessly.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

It does have its limitations. Notes and alerts for clients could be improved and customization could also be improved. CW chat is sometimes not helpful.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An all-inclusive hub for Sales, Service, Procurement and Finance to be able to work together to satisfy a MGS client. Easily flows through to our accounting package (QuickBooks).

  ### 29. The best ticketing system!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martin M. | Cloud Project Manager, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2017

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

ease of access, easy to learn. keeps ticketing and inventory organized neatyl

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

slow loading sometimes. When reinstalling, takes a while to clear the cache to get it running again.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

a little pricey but a lot of modules you can add to make your life easier!!

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

keep track of client issues, keep projects organized, running reports for how we are doing

  ### 30. LabTech Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David T. | Systems Administrator, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 27, 2016

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

LabTech is a lot like other managers of this sort, but the thing I like most about LabTech is that once it is set up it is easy to see all the computers on the network at once and connect to them. It looks very forward once it is set up but there are a lot of hidden intricacies below the surface.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

I dislike that LabTech is not very upfront about how to get everything setup and deployed. The patching could be a lot more straight forward than it is. Also, when used in conjunction with screenconnect the deployment tools can be confusing to use depending on the size of the organizations or are trying to deploy to.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

If you are in an environment where you can stick to just using SCCM; I would just do that. We don't really use the ticketing functions of LabTech so I can't really speak to how it works there.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LabTech can solve a lot of business problems; we are currently using it to manage almost all of our clients workstations. It can be used for a lot more than this, but we feel this is what it excels at.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling techs
Automating workflow
Billing/Invoicing
Managing Sales and marketing campaigns
Tracking Sales opportunities

  ### 32. Preferred Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keith R. | Medical Doctor, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2017

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Being able to easily access information about systems without having to enable logging. It also alows for quick and efficient reporting to our clientele.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

It's a very complex program that does require some time to get used to. It has a grand multitude of features which make it very worth it in the long run.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Very reliable with constant updates and a very lively support. They are very accurate and can always be depended on.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because it is always getting updated, it's found to be quite reliable as a RMM. It has the integrity of a matured and reliable program so it can easily be depended on and it also easily can run along side other products.
It solves the problem of inaccurate billing cycles which continually becomes a persistent issue with other products.

**Official Response from Lesley Meunier:**

> Hey Keith, thanks for the review. ConnectWise Automate (formerly LabTech) can be a little overwhelming due to the robust offering of features. But we are glad to hear that you have mastered it!

  ### 33. One of the best tools that keeps getting better

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

Ability to mass deploy customized scripts. Monitor extensive features of and roles of servers and workstations. Quick, reliable remote desktop connections. Automation of mundane tasks including Windows Updates and scheduled server reboots.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Inconsistent assistance from dedicated support. Upgrades often "break" well-working features with esoteric solutions. Classic software idiosyncrasies especially during re-installation of package on existing machines.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Great tool for MSPs, highly recommend and investing in tool with dedicated in-house person for innovation.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2017

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I find this product to be created for the managed service customer in mind. I like the work flow that can put into place and the tracking and auditing of tickets.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

The work flow is great but can get to be very messy at times. Changing the workflow or setup of boards after the company is up and running can be difficult without a full over haul.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We run projects out this now and use CW to create project plans instead of MS project.

End user support and fixing windows server was the most work I did.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

It was used for ticketing and had all the history, knowledge base that grew based on solutions determined by existing staff. Also had good customer interface for service related issues.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

I thought the solution was a bit pricey and wasn't able to pass along the expense to our customer base. So the basic customer was given a different option and our Gold level customer was handled with ConnectWise.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Been a few years and I had a god experience.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It would free up staff time from routing requests and route automatically based on rules setup.

  ### 41. Good RMM Tool for Your MSP

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher M. | VP of Sales & Marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2016

**What do you like best about ConnectWise Automate?**

I've worked with Kaseya in the past and while there are a lot of similarities I think the user experience and ease of use is better with LabTech. The price point on LabTech is better and they have put more of an effort to add more features as of late.

**What do you dislike about ConnectWise Automate?**

Even though they make strides with new features it always feels like a struggle. They are really good for a while and then they seem to get complacent and no new features are delivered for a bit. I had the same experience with Kaseya at different times. Maybe I just have strong expectations for a major tool in my business.

**Recommendations to others considering ConnectWise Automate:**

Do your research. Labtech may be right for some organizations but not others. Make sure their R&D roadmap fits with what you are looking to accomplish. For us, they allowed us to be scalable without large capital investments.

**What problems is ConnectWise Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is our main line-of-business tool. It allows us to remotely monitor, manage and remotely connect each of our clients' endpoints from a central tool. This allows us to be effective in our service to our clients.
