## About BuildOps
BuildOps is an all-in-one operations platform for commercial MEP contractors—HVAC, mechanical, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing—bringing dispatch, estimating, invoicing, service, projects, and reporting into one system. A single source of truth unifies office and field data, metrics, and work history. Projects flow seamlessly into service: as-built equipment becomes asset records that power service agreements, scheduling, dispatch, billing, and documentation. Smarter scheduling comes from a live planning board with technician skills, certifications, location, and availability—plus intelligent recommendations and drag-and-drop dispatch to handle emergencies, multi-day work, and long-term planning. Field teams stay audit-ready with photos, videos, and PDFs attached directly to quotes, invoices, and assets, while automated workflows keep work orders, customer data, and billing in sync across project and service. The result: predictable maintenance, stronger recurring revenue, protected margins, and a end-to-end support from the building phase to ongoing service.

## BuildOps Reviews
 ### 1. Streamlined Procurement and Reliable Anywhere Access with Build Ops

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ZACHARIAH B. | Date Entry, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

Every part of the procurement process feels streamlined, and it’s easy to switch between different Work Orders as needed. Support is expedient and helps within the hour until a claim is finalized. I can rely on Build Ops to work from home and the office, and having availability from the internet helps me do my job from any location, making it convenient for the company.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Whenever I ask for support, the initial response is from an A.I. bot that doesn't assist in actually fixing the problem but rather stating why there is a problem. I'd prefer to have my concerns addressed by an actual person first and foremost, and if the person assisting me has to use A.I. tools that is not my concern. As a customer, I feel my time is respected and valued when my initial concerns with a software issue are addressed by a person.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Entering purchase orders is streamlined and efficient, with tools that let me move line items around and transfer purchase orders to different Work Orders. Each step in the process is easy to double-check, which leaves little room for user error.

 ### 2. Streamlines HVAC Operations with Ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

I appreciate how BuildOps integrates with MITRE, allowing me to pull the time directly for payroll each week. It helps track the time that our guys spend on each job, which is great for payroll processing. Additionally, it's quite convenient since our guys can enter their clock-in time and do all their paperwork straight from their company phones for each service call. The projects module is also helpful in organizing everything in one place, and we can easily refer back to job records even years later. The implementation team was very supportive, making the initial setup not too difficult.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

I think sometimes we could improve the fact that they only allow fleet tracking through one program. It would be nice to have open integration so that we could use our analytics. They need to be a little bit more accepting of multiple integration options.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use BuildOps to keep our dispatchers and job sites organized, manage invoicing, and streamline record keeping. It simplifies payroll by integrating with MITRE, allowing time tracking directly from company phones, which keeps everything in order and easily accessible for the future.

 ### 3. User-Friendly and Efficient for Permit Coordination

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jodi F. | Administrative Support Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

I really appreciate that BuildOps is extremely user-friendly and clearly laid out, which makes important information obvious on the customer or specific job screens. The features that include all aspects of the job, including permitting, are very helpful for my role as a permit coordinator. The tags in BuildOps quickly help identify if a permit is required or has been issued, and I can enter permit fees into inventory costs ensuring job costing is accurately calculated. Additionally, BuildOps works well for contract jobs, and I find that the project management area has evolved and continues to improve. I also like the Dashboard feature for technicians and how I can customize Dispatch boards to focus on different crews without having to display everyone.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

I think project management could improve the pay application process, so it is more in line with the industry standard AIA form.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuildOps includes all job aspects like permitting, helping me quickly identify permit status and accurately calculate job costs. It's user-friendly with obvious important information and customizable dashboards. It improves project management for contract jobs.

 ### 4. Streamlined Ops with Rapid Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melisa H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

I use BuildOps for tracking the hours of technicians and creating new work orders. I love the chat feature in BuildOps because if I have any questions, AI or a real member can resolve the issue. It's easy to sign in on any device, and it saves travel times by letting me know which technicians are close to the job. BuildOps has everything, including billing and creating new customers. The initial setup was easy and fast to learn, and I got it quickly. I'm still discovering a lot of new features since BuildOps is always coming up with new features to make the job easier.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Communication from the mobile app to the computer dispatch board doesn't show where the techs are at that time. There's a delay.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use BuildOps to track technician hours and create work orders. It saves travel time by showing which technicians are nearby. I love the chat support feature and find it easy to sign in on any device.

 ### 5. Efficient Scheduling, Needs Better Reporting

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brad C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

I really enjoy using BuildOps as our operations platform in the commercial HVAC industry. It's great for scheduling and recording technician notes, which are then passed along to our customers. I appreciate its capabilities for generating service quotes and invoicing as well. What I like most about BuildOps is the dispatch board and scheduling within their platform. I also find their visit summary reporting for jobs quite useful. It helps us get our technicians to where they need to be, inform them of what's needed, track their time, and support our customers effectively. Additionally, I appreciate that it integrates with our QuickBooks Online.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

The reporting in BuildOps is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. Not only is it the least intuitive report creation process, but when one finally does get reports created, the information is not reliable. This is a huge issue for us as business owners. I am still very surprised that they don't have better basic reports, that all companies need. The canned reports that they do provide are incomplete, and provide inaccurate and/or inconsistent data. This is hands down the biggest issue with BuildOps, and it is mission critical information. That was also before my time, but I heard that the onboarding process was a challenge. I also personally know 5 other business owners that have struggled through the onboarding process with BuildOps.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuildOps helps with scheduling, recording technician notes, generating service quotes, and invoicing. It assists in dispatching, time tracking, and supporting customers efficiently.

 ### 6. AI-Powered Billing and Custom Filters Make Job Tracking Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

I like the AI feature for generating customer billings. The simple job headers are helpful for quickly seeing a job’s status. The ability to customize filters is a huge help, especially since different users need different informatio. . I

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

The procurement layout is a lengthy process with 3-way matching. It could definitely be more efficient with some guidance from actual users. I know other customers have compatible accounting software which makes it easier for them. We rely on export files to upload into our software which does not always work. Many upgrades affect our version that causes issues. There always seems to be quirks within different areas that require BO support. It feels like the software is being created as we work thru it. A button or box added throws everything off. The contract module is not user friendly or tailored to our industry also.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m not aware of any specific problems they’re working on right now. The software is updated regularly as improvements roll out, so it feels almost like a living environment that’s constantly changing and evolving.

 ### 7. Fragmented Information Makes Workflow Challenging

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ted G. | SSR, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

ability to drag and drop attachments into jobs/quotes, and the ability to create data queries/dashboards

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

it's a little too segmented...bits and pieces of information are scattered throughout many places and things that should go together are not always found together. The recommendations are probably the thing I dislike the most because the service summary that the tech wrote is not always attached to the recommendation.

It needs to help the user connect these pieces together more efficiently. For example, if a dispatcher creates a new job for a property, then BuildOps should alert them if there are open quotes for that property. That way, we could possibly prevent sending a tech out to a site to troubleshoot the same unit that we already have an open quote for (this happens).
Or, if a tech tries to submit a recommendation for a quote, but the customer has a comprehensive agreement, then there should be something that alerts the tech to the fact that the repair is covered by that agreement and does not need to be quoted.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buildops provides a centralized filing system where all job info can be found, regardless of who worked on it before, which benefits anybody who is trying to determine what work has been done/has been quoted but not done yet/etc.

 ### 8. Effortless Job Management with Top-End Usability

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jonathan r. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

I like BuildOps because it keeps everything in one place, simplifying the process of looking up jobs and keeping job attachments organized, which helps me keep up with the schedule. It lets me track the progress of jobs, see if they are fully built, and maintain visual records of every job, all in one spot. What I like the most is the ease of use, which saves me time, and as they say, time is money. I've noticed improvements since I first started using it.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

It lags at some time. Sometimes it lags. Other than sometimes, it could kinda lag.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuildOps keeps everything in one place, simplifying job lookups and scheduling, and makes it easy to track progress and keep records. It saves me time with its ease of use.

 ### 9. Efficient Documentation, Slight Update Challenges

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** josh l. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

I appreciate BuildOps for its ease of accessing information, which allows me to easily access customer information and build rapport with customers. I also like the organization of documents, which helps in documenting work performed for customers and creating job history on units for both internal and external use. These features make BuildOps valuable to me as they provide a way to support the customer in need.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Sometimes, when BuildOps completes updates, some functions prior to the update disappear which becomes aggravating.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuildOps provides an easy way to document work for customers and creates job history on units. It allows for easy access to customer information, helping build rapport and support customers effectively.

 ### 10. Use BuildOps only if you want to constantly fix the integration

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

Most helpful is the concept of the integration into Quickbooks. The issue is the BuildOps is inconsistent in how the information is integrated

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

What is least helpful is the constant need to correct the information which migrated and the inability to correct anything that has migrated. If it has migrated you have to void and start over. BuildOps is not an accounting software, but it limits what you can change. They are concerned about the intefrity of their software, not the integrity of QuickBooks

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

After numerous months of trying to get things corrected, I am starting over .

 ### 11. Simple to Use with Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** amanda G. | Office Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

Build ops have been easy for me to learn since fairly new to the system. I like how simple some things are to work through. I love that our rep Jorge is fast at getting back to me if I need help.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Only thing at this time that I dislike is that some things change without knowing. For example when entering a Non productive time to the dispatch schedule overhead is gone now.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed to dismissed a job from a quote to make that job a project. Jorge was able to send me a video on how to do that and how to remove the techs time on the job and add it onto the project. He was very helpful and patience with me.

 ### 12. Quick, Accurate Support Whenever I Need It!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Connie M. | CFO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

When I have a question, concern, or request, I can get a quick and accurate response.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

i would like for more items to sync with QuickBooks, but there really isn't anything that I don't like

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

syncing issues, they are so quick to fix them, but they are rare. We don't have too many issues when using BuildOps

 ### 13. Paperless Benefits and Easy Access to Job History

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** B&L GLASS N. | field ops mgr, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

the paperless enifets and the ablity for my workman to look at previous jobs done at that address

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

the time tracking for my workman is very discontected

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ever problem i have always seems to get elevate to engenering and i dont really see the fix or get informed after that

 ### 14. New BuildOps user

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zach T. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

We find the program to be extremely easy to use once immersing yourself into its work flows.

The reporting capabilities are next level compared to using spreadsheets and Quickbooks and the field reporting in projects is incredible.

AI customer support is extremely helpful, and typically live human support if needed happens in a timely manner.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

We are finding some data inputs (PO’s) to be limited and external system integration to be subpar.

The timesheet/ time tracking system is a step back 20 years for our company.

Implementation at a non-enterprise level is challenging. There is extremely limited access to your IM and initial contact does not give clear instructions or expectations. The Videos for training were extremely helpful although I think some are not updated.

The AI features with purchase orders that were presented by sales are clunky at best, we may have missed the fact that they are in Beta. We are excited about this feature once perfected.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to buildops our cost reporting, wip reports, scheduling, time tracking, and project information were in several different programs on multiple computers and in many different spreadsheets. BuildOps is putting most of this information into one platform that is easy to assimilate and view. I do not see this as a time saver for my company, but it will definitely improve our reporting and reduce human error.

 ### 15. Powerful Analytics, Needs API Improvements

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cameron B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

I like the Snowflake data share feature in BuildOps because it allows me to create other workflows and reporting based on our BuildOps data.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

The APIs are incomplete, and that sucks. More of the app’s functions need to be exposed on the public API.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuildOps allows us to do analytics on our ticketing and quotes systems, and the Snowflake data share lets me create other workflows and reporting using our BuildOps data.

 ### 16. Great Search and Custom Filters, but Deleting and Credits Need Improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

Easy to search through jobs, quotes, PO's etc.

The ease of making filters customized to an individual person etc.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

It seems very difficult to delete anything and credits are difficult. Would be super helpful if we could create a dashboard custom to what each person in each dept needs. We always have to create workarounds, doesn't seem to be a lot of solves.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

AI generated summaries are helping with efficiency and customer understanding

 ### 17. BuildOps for service management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Facilities Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

Easy to use. Easy to integrate with ERP system. Constant updates and improvements to software. Mobile app

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Requires techs to learn a new platform. These techs are great in what they do, but lousy with technology

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automates many process that were once manual and on paper. The mobile app is fantastic for our techs! Saves time which generates $$$!

 ### 18. Intuitive UI That Streamlines Employee Tracking and Invoicing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2026

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

It meets our needs to keep track of employees and invoicing.
Its user interface is very straight forward and intuitive.
Integrates well with other software

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Occasionally the syncing is a little slow for our pace of business.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps in dispatching techs efficiently, track service calls, customer equipment and enable proactive communication with customers

 ### 19. Great Field Management Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Disha H. | Owner / Operator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

BuildOps has been a great experience for us! The implementation team has been awesome with helping us get set up and supporting us even after going live. They’re super responsive and make things a lot easier to figure out.

The software itself has so many features that really help create a better flow and system for our work. There’s definitely a bit to learn at first, but once you get the hang of it, everything starts to click and makes a lot of sense.

Overall, it’s been a big upgrade for our team and we’re really happy with both the platform and the people behind it!

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

One thing we’ve noticed is that sometimes there are a lot of repetitive inputs instead of just a one-click option. Also, while we’re still working on the integration with our financial software, managing two systems can be a bit time-consuming. That said, once the full system is created, it will be much smoother.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Forms: having forms completed live by the techs is a big benefit

 ### 20. User-Friendly Platform with Impressive Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shari B. | Service Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

I really appreciate how user-friendly and intuitive the platform is, and I’m also impressed by its robust reporting system.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

I dislike the PO module as it does not serve our particular business model to our needs.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuildOps has significantly improved the way our office and field teams communicate, making our closeout, invoicing, and reporting processes much more efficient.

 ### 21. An FSM / Operations Software Built by People Who Know the Industry

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mackenzie K. | Systems Engineer Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

I love the workflows in BuildOps. While no field service management or Ops software is going to check 100% of the boxes (or meet every single unique workflow), this one comes very close! I can see the thoughtful development of each of their modules - they were designed by people who actually understand the chaos of what goes on in the service and construction business. In addition, I like how knowledgeable our customer support managers have been. Great people to work with!

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

The only negative note I have would be around some of the flexibility of the DBMS. It's only small issues, though, and is probably not a problem for anyone not working in the database management or systems engineering world.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuildOps streamlines our workflows, provides actionable data for CI, and continually rolls out new features that improve the way we do business

 ### 22. Great Multi-Window Support, But Laggy Updates Disrupt Workflow

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Theresa S. | Admin, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

you can have more than 1 window open and project open at a time.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

it lags and really is not a live update. updates in the middle of the day

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are option in BO#'s that are not in projects. Projects are not as easy friendly for techs and to retrieve information

 ### 23. Streamlined for Ease of Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kasia L. | Operations Manager, Facilities Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

BuildOps has truly streamlined our operations. The platform is incredibly easy to use, which has made a noticeable difference in how efficiently our company runs—especially when it comes to dispatching. The dispatch software is powerful, intuitive, and has significantly improved our team's ability to manage field work in real time.

Their customer support is also top-notch. Every rep we’ve worked with has been knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely helpful. The tech support team deserves a special mention—they’re quick to respond and resolve issues efficiently, which is exactly what you need in a busy service environment.

Overall, BuildOps has become an essential tool for our business, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to streamline their field operations.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

While BuildOps has been a great asset overall, there are a few areas where I see room for improvement. Some features could be a bit more customizable to better fit specific workflows, and occasionally, updates roll out with small bugs that take a little time to get addressed. That said, their support team is always responsive and helpful when these issues come up, which makes a big difference.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before BuildOps, we were using a program that just couldn’t keep up with our needs. Since switching, everything has become more streamlined. Dispatching is fast and easy, and we get live service reports from our techs in the field—no more waiting for them to send in paperwork. This real-time visibility has made a big difference, especially when it comes to invoicing. We’re able to bill customers faster and keep our operations moving without delays.

 ### 24. A Frustrating and Unproductive Experience with BuildOps

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dustin T. | General Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

A sales pitch that promised everything we wanted...... Sales pitch is the key word

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Our experience with BuildOps has been deeply disappointing, to say the least. We signed on with the expectation of streamlining our operations, but instead, we were met with a clunky, poorly-managed implementation process and a shocking lack of communication that has left our team frustrated and our business in a worse position than when we started.
The primary issue has been the implementation, or rather, the lack thereof. The initial sales pitch promised a seamless transition and a powerful platform tailored to our needs. The reality was a disjointed and confusing process with little to no guidance. Key features we were sold on were either not ready or required complex workarounds that were never properly explained. The burden of getting the system off the ground fell almost entirely on our team, defeating the purpose of investing in a supposedly comprehensive solution.
Beyond the initial setup, the overall process has been incredibly poor. The platform itself feels underdeveloped, and navigating its various functions is anything but intuitive.
What has made this entire situation unbearable is the complete breakdown in communication from BuildOps. Emails go unanswered for days, if not weeks and sometimes never answered at all. When we do manage to get a response, it's often generic and fails to address our specific issues. Questions we ask get danced around and a phrase we heard a lot was “Let me check on that for you” which we learned would mean I don’t know or I don’t want to answer that because you as the customer will not like the answer. We felt abandoned and completely ignored.
If you are considering BuildOps, I would strongly advise you to look elsewhere. The promises made during the sales process do not match the reality of the product or the company's ability to support its clients. The lack of implementation support, poor processes, and abysmal communication have made this one of the worst vendor experiences we have ever had.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None, after a great sale pitch, we are unable to use the product due to poor implementation.

 ### 25. Effortless Job Management and Quick Quote Conversion on Mobile

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Facilities Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

It is a mobile app with fillable forms, timekeeping, the ability to look up job histories, manage assets, and easily write a service ticket. The best part is the ability to enter recommendations for quotes which can be rapidly converted into pull-through work.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Sometimes the software will misbehave when in locations with poor service.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuildOps makes it easy to enter service tickets and time without having to manually fill out both.

 ### 26. User-Friendly with Excellent Tag and Filter Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bob B. | Manager of Controls and Electrical Divisions, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

The tags and filters make it very user friendly

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

There isn't a drag and drop on the pricing tab of quotes

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm not having any problems at this moment

 ### 27. The best solution for commercial HVAC.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

We have tried out multiple operations management programs in the last 5 years and BuildOps has been the most robust. We are able to manage sites with hundreds of pieces of equipment easily. The interface is simple yet detailed and it's easy to find what you are looking for. We no longer lose track of jobs and invoicing. The support staff is really great and our customer service representative is on top of any issues that pop up. Would highly recommend this product.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

We would like to be able to send statements to customers directly from BuildOps, but at this time that is not an option. We use an outside accounting firm, so out access to Quickbooks is difficult.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuildOps is great for managing jobs that are open for long periods of time. We used to lose track of job statuses and BuildOps has solved that for us. The project management tool helps us keep track of costs and labor hours so that we are able to make timely management decisions. We don't have to run lengthy reports to get a high level project report.

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

The buildops system is very easy to navigate through.
When we started using it we thought we would do it slowly but the system was so easy to use we jumped right in, making the integration simple.
The technicians transitioning to the system was simple and they accepted the process seemlessly. I was expecting some pushback.
It was a very easy transition.
The support team responds in a very timely manner and our support representative "Jorge" has been a huge pleasure to work with.
We use this system daily and not having the paper is wonderful. Reviewing jobs is so much simpler then i thought it would be.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

The followup system is not efficient. If we want to follow up in a couple weeks on a job, there is nowhere for us to do that unless we see it daily.
Building a quote form that is professional looking has been a challenge. However, support has been working with me on that. I feel this is something we can figure out.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Removal of paper from our daily processes.
Ease of doing business.
Putting information all in one place

 ### 29. Convenient All-in-One Tool, But Glitches Need Fixing

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

It puts everything in one place and makes things easier.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

BuildOps can be very glitchy at times and can be difficult to get things done because of that.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is putting everything in one area, and it is easy to find information on customers.

 ### 30. 3 Months in - Build Ops New User

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

Build Ops is a fantastic cloud-based software that is supporting us for our service and construction management. Build Ops has supported us more in the usability, flexibility, and visibility across the departments. Our old software was very segregated and hard to connect information through different modules.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Build Ops is currently set up for very large organizations. They claim this is done intentionally with the idea of smaller organizations scaling up as the years progress. We can appreciate the idea behind this, but until we reach that point, we have actually seen more administrative work in certain areas. Build Ops anticipates having certain staff members in specific seats to meet their workflows.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Build Ops has significantly supported out billing processes. As in we have been able to process jobs, to invocing, and getting those out to the customer almost instatnly compared to befire this would take at least a week or two after work was completed.

Build Ops has also given our company as a whole a lot more vicibility on the various departments. Out software before was very old school and wanted to keep information segregated by module.

Build Ops being cloud-based has made accessing the software significantly easier. We no longer need to rely on various VPNs and remote setups to access our previous software. This has sped up and improved the overall process of accessing our work.

 ### 31. Very Good Program

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel S. | Accounts Receivable Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

I really like how I have my own dedicated support rep that I can contact with any questions of issues.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

The permissions are not tiered enough. there are too many all or nothing categories.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Buildops allows us to have one centralized platform to manage all aspects of our business.

 ### 32. BuildOps Keeps Us On The Same Page

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon B. | General Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

BuildOps keeps my entire team on the same page. Very easy to use for both the office staff and field workers. It was relatively painless to integrate with our accounting software, as well.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

There are a few bugs, nothing game breaking. The team has quickly provided workarounds for the time being.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us by putting our business under a single pane of glass. It's integrating scheduling, project management, invoicing, & reporting with ease.

 ### 33. Great product/platform, great partner for our business, great results for us!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

My favorite parts of BuildOps are the reporting capabilities and the continual product improvement/updates the platform provides us. We previously were unable get this level of insight into our construction projects and service jobs, nor were we able to properly manage the workflows of our people/processes within our old system. BuildOps is providing us with valuable, real-time insights and an actual useful platform to help us complete our work, and not something we need to work around. Additionally, their customer service (especially our CSM Tom Foley!) are excellent to work with.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

While I do love all the updates that BuildOps is working on, I believe they show the signs of a rapidly growing company where a feature will be worked on, released, and then not iterated on for a while, and instead possibly be replaced. Additionally, I believe that their investment/purchase of CRM+ was not well researched on their end, as it has MINIMAL functionality between the two systems. I know that they are working on a new platform/full integration between the two, but the CRM+ team has not been very forthright in sharing those details with us.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a full MEP shop in the commercial market, with a service department. As one could image, we are a unique beast in the market. Our old system did not enable us to work/manage multi-trade projects as a single project, which means we did not get easily accessible insights into how the OVERALL project was doing, only the specific trades. This created silos and operational issues for us as departmental project managers/foremen did not have insight into how other départements were progressing on the same project, meaning we routinely had multiple material orders and equipment rentals for the same projects that could have been consolidated together and/or charges that could have been less with a clearer view of the overall project.

Additionally, we previously had a terrible time getting our service jobs invoiced in a timely manner. We were at around 45 days to invoice previously, and are now averaging a 0 days to invoice our customers. This has lead to faster cash collections and a more stable A/R process for us.

 ### 34. BuildOps has increased efficiency in every part of my business.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David H. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

BuildOps brings almost every part of my business into the same software environment. It also reduces data entry significantly.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

I'm not sure you can call it a downside but it takes a whole to set up and get going. It's necessary to make sure you're utilizing the software fully so not really a downside but it did take a few months to implement.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main advantage of BuildOps is bringing a bunch of disparate software solutions into the same program.
We were spending lots of time doing double or triple data entry. We would make a work order in QuickBooks then manually dispatch it to a tech via paper. If the job needed a quote we would put it into our estimating software and then type up the quote in Microsoft word. Then we'd go to Outlook and email the quote to the customer. When a quote was accepted we'd go back into QuickBooks and turn the quote into a worker which was dispatched to a tech via paper to perform the work. The tech would write down all the materials, labor, and job description on a paper invoice. We would take the invoice and manually enter it into QuickBooks then generate and mail or email an invoice. If the customer wanted to pay with a credit card the process was time consuming for the office staff.

With BuildOps, we input the work order and digitally assign the work to a tech. The tech can track time, materials, labor, purchases, before/after pictures, job related documents, and other important items through a very well designed app. If a quote is needed the estimator can put all the info he needs (pictures, list of materials, etc.) into the app while they are on site or back in the office. Then the quote can be emailed directly from BuildOps, which then tracks the email's status through being opened, read, and responded to. The customer can approve the quote directly from their email. Once approved the quote is turned into a work order through just a few clicks and digitally scheduled with a tech. The tech tracks everything in the field and all that info can then be turned into an invoice with only a few more clicks. The invoice is emailed to the customer directly from BuildOps and they can pay online from a link in the email (this requires setting up payment service through another provider called Payabli that is partnered with BuildOps). The online payment is incredibly easy to use and it saves us a ton of time versus taking credit cards over the phone.

There is also a fantastic portion of the program that handles larger contracted jobs that take place over months and years. Again, it streamlines almost every process we do throughout a job like this. From budgeting to assembling submittal packages, pay applications to job cost tracking, BuildOps makes every process and workflow faster, more consistent, and more organized.

All of your info is stored in a logical, easy to access format. If you need to know what type of light fixture you installed for a customer four years ago it's quick and easy to find in the system.

Of course you have to put in the time and work to get everything set up and customized properly and follow through on things like taking pictures and saving documents into the system. All of these things are well designed and easy to use which makes them fast and second nature after fairly minimal practice.

The program has great reporting and tracking features that will let you monitor any KPIs you might be interested in. It also frees up so much time that was spent addressing tons of small items throughout the day.

 ### 35. Intimidating as first but totally worth it!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** lauren c. | Office Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2024

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

My favorite part of build ops is the customer service. I have never received such in depth customer service. They even follow up a few days after they answer your question to make sure they provided sufficient help. Which is really useful for a software--sometimes you get some assistance and realize once you are in it that you have more questions.

I love that I can use the same system to track my POs which helps the office know what is going on with the techs in the field. This allows me to categorize my open jobs and see which ones have parts ordered, if I am still waiting for them, and if they have been receiveds.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

We are still working to implement the service agreements portion. It seems a little in depth with the set up. Which goes both ways, a little more difficult to set up but the metrics it is going to provide us with once it is implemented will provide us with valuable info that will help the business thrive.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Greatly increases communication between techs & office. Detailed PO system makes all the difference! Easily know where we are wtih various jobs at a glance.

Some of the answers on the "About your org" page are not accurate--it wouldn't let me enter our actual website 4seasonsky.com and wouldn't let me move on without choosing something

 ### 36. Does What Most HVAC Companies Need, but Can't Find

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Doug H. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

We love that BuildOps can handle our service and planned spec business departments with one app. In the past, we looked at going digital and would always need two different programs to serve each side of the business. We enjoy the web based nature of BuildOps that allows us to access it from anywhere. Quickbooks integration has also been a huge benefit for our accounting department and allows us to get through payroll more quickly each week.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

The only downside of using BuildOps is that it is new in the market and not many techs have used the program in the past.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuildOps gives me great visibility into what is going on with the entire company. It also keeps all of our quotes and PO's organized.

 ### 37. BuildOps has consolidated all of our operational data and processes into one platform.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben P. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

Having all of our operational datasets on one platform has greatly streamlined our processes. No more searching for missing timecards or supplier invoices. When it comes time to create an invoice, everything is right there where you need it.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Some of the navigational features are not very intuitive on the web version. Usually when drilling down for more granular information, you have to navigate away from the page you were working on...sometimes 3-4 times.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main reason we implemented BuildOps was to get all of our data into one platform. This has greatly streamlined our end-to-end process...from job creation to invoicing.

 ### 38. Continues to improve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2025

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

We use BuildOps for nearly everything and it handles what we need it to. I use BuildOps all day every day and from the purchase order process to entering Jobs and taking it an Invoice everything works well. Most importantly it continues to get better and the team seem to listen and make updates that have made things better than when I first started using it. The support team has been great as well in fixing any bugs when they have occured.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

One area I am looking forward to seeing get improved is the audit and version control. The team has said it is coming soon but right now it is something that is still missing.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BuildOps has made the invoicing and job proces much eaiser than our old system. It's very user friendly and intuitive.

 ### 39. BuildOps has made office work so much simpler, I am so glad we switched over.

I love how user friendly BuildOps is. It has saved me so much time with office work. I also have really loved the customer support. They are really quick to respond and always super helpful!

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

I would like to be able to bulk invoice/email from BuildOps.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Invoicing, keeping projects and jobs organized, better notes from technicians and overall just better organized.

 ### 40. To the roots

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Molly H. | Dispatcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2024

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

User friendly. Coming from HouseCall Pro and Sage, this was an easy upgrade. BuildOps allows everything to work faster, and more efficiently. People end up running out of work because of how quickly things are getting done. The little updates here and there are not life-changing, but they are things we specifically asked for that were heard across multiple accounts. It feels good as a consumer of this program to be heard! Support is speedy and always helpful. I like that I can always reach out to someone with any questions. One of my favorite thing about BuildOps is not being limited to only using my work computer. I can use it anywhere so I can use it every day on my phone or laptop if I'm at home.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Switching from Sage to BuildOps was rough. There were a ton of hiccups that caused financial issues that we did end up recovering (which is good). We have an account manager who ignored us after two weeks of having the program. There's always a learning curve with new software, so to be expected. I wish there were more training options for technicians so they could be as aware of the software as the office is since most techs were seasoned to understand Techtool/Sage over a new system.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Speed of doing work. Accessibility for features to have as much information about customers/properties as possible all in one place.

 ### 41. BuildOps Experience

There are certain pieces of information that I think should show up in certain areas so that I don't have to switch back to a different page to see it.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It streamlines a lot of the workflow

 ### 42. it has been very challenging to setup the integration with QBO

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Linking it to QBO. The setup process takes 6 to 9 months

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Techs can setup each job themself and don't have to contact me

Keeps track of everything in a well-organized manner. It allows me to stay on top of our jobs, POs, invoices, and everything in between easily. User friendly on almost every aspect. Customer service/support is quick to respond and helpful. I use it every day both from mobile and from a computer and the transition between the two is seamless.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

The service agreements module is somewhat confusing and not as user friendly as the rest of the software.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us stay organized and keep track of everything.

 ### 45. User friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about BuildOps?**

Buildops support has been the most helpful. The dispatch board and being able to see our employees workflow has been great.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

The inventory control system needs serious work. Companies need to be able to add new inventory items that actually go in as inventory items not non inventory.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has cut down time on paperwork for Road Techs and office. We are better able to track, communicate and schedule jobs and everyone that needs to be able to see that information can.

After BuildOps has been properly integrated into operations, the reporting is second to none.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Currently, there are some gaps in what is searchable within the main GUI, however, everything is completely accessable through the reporting module.

**What problems is BuildOps solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use BuildOps to manage projects and our service teams. We are able to be more organized and see key metrix with the reporting module.

The team at BuildOps come with knowledge and great personalities. The follow up and support is great.

**What do you dislike about BuildOps?**

Overall there is nothing big on the dislike list, there are a few places that still require some work - Defaulting tax, vendor section could be better

The key factors that convinced me to choose BuildOps were its seamless integration with mobile devices, the user-friendly and comprehensive dispatch board, the efficient customer setup process, and the streamlined invoicing capabilities. Additionally, the management and accounting teams were particularly impressed with the BuildOps integration with QuickBooks, which would greatly facilitate our financial processes.
