I am a big fan of Amazon and AWS to the extend of me buying books on Amazonian ways of working and I am AWS certified.

What I like is that Lamda is fully managed by AWS. I don't have to worry about updating the underlying machines, network connection as AWS do that. Tasks are automated so Lambda is great for scheduled jobs that perform cleansup or process data from online forms on a website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I was the kid who took clocks apart as I like to see how things are made. AWS Lambda does not allow you to see how the system operates, which annoys me. It does let me to have less time on operational task time, which is good as I can spend more time on application code.

One other negative is when the applicaiton load increases costs increase proportionately, so costs can and do end up costing more than similar cloud services usch as EC2. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think AWS Lambda is simply the best in the industry regarding event-driven serverless computing platforms. I am amazed by the very well constructed background architecture that allows uninterrupted detection of an event (let's say file landing on the server) and the respective subsequent processing. I can run my code without any server or any installation that too virtually with whatever kind of application it is or the service in backend furthermore with 0 administration.
