Being able to drag tasks and reorder your WBS is very efficient, and the ability to copy/paste from sheets into the platform saves a lot of time and effort. As an opportunity for improvement in customer support and plan options, I would prefer the portfolio feature to be available in the beginner tier, at least for the Asana Administrator, so they can have a general panoramic picture of the entire PMO portfolio. **What do you dislike about Asana?** In the basic tiers, I don’t have access to create a general PMO dashboard that includes all projects. Multi-homing tasks across our three team projects in Asana means one task shows up in each team's view without anyone re-creating it, and the status update is visible to everyone instead of buried in whichever team happened to be working on it last. I especially like being able to build repeatable workflows for processes such as recruiting, employee onboarding, and project management. Asana also offers integrations with tools such as Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, which helps reduce the need to constantly switch between platforms. Performance has also been a major benefit. Having projects, deadlines, responsibilities, and updates centralized makes it much faster to determine where something stands. Instead of searching through emails or manually updating several spreadsheets, I can quickly identify completed work, outstanding tasks, and potential delays. This has improved both my productivity and my ability to provide timely updates to leadership. From a pricing and ROI perspective, I think the value becomes more noticeable when Asana is being used across a team rather than simply as an individual task list. The platform can also be used to create structured employee onboarding projects, which is particularly valuable from an HR perspective because paperwork, training, responsibilities, and progress can be managed in one place. Basic task management is straightforward, but learning how to fully use automations, rules, reporting, custom fields, dashboards, and more complex workflows takes additional time. This is also a commonly reported concern among Asana users. I also think pricing can become a concern as a team grows, particularly because some of the more advanced reporting, workload management, and workflow capabilities require higher-tier plans. Another area that could be improved is notification management. When you're involved in several projects, notifications can accumulate quickly, which can make it harder to distinguish routine updates from items that actually require immediate attention. It gives me one central location to organize projects, assign responsibilities, set due dates, monitor progress, and quickly see what has been completed and what still needs attention. Asana’s workflows, custom fields, rules, dashboards, and multiple project views make it easier to standardize processes and maintain visibility. From an HR and project management perspective, this is especially beneficial for managing repeatable processes such as recruiting, applicant tracking, onboarding, compliance activities, and other administrative projects. Instead of relying heavily on emails, spreadsheets, and manual follow-ups, I can create a structured workflow where each stage has a clear owner and deadline. The biggest benefit for me is accountability and efficiency. I can identify outstanding tasks or potential delays much faster, leadership can have better visibility into progress, and team members know what they are responsible for completing. Automation also reduces some of the repetitive follow-up and administrative work. Overall, Asana is helping me move from simply keeping track of work to actually managing the workflow. Asana's calendar view now shows every piece of content on its actual publish data, and I attached the doc link right on the task so nobody's hunting for the right version anymore. Also integration with Slack is helpful because we can pull tasks directly from chats within our DMs or channels. With templates, we can also build in common elements across projects that share the same known tasks, so we don’t miss repeatable steps on specific projects. Being able to analyze common points between tasks ahead of time would make it easier to streamline how we create those templates. And if we already had pre-built dependencies, we could use them as a starting point for suggesting due dates, whether we’re planning forward or working backward from a set deadline. **What do you dislike about Asana?** I think what is unfortunate, is the lack of ability to custom assign roles. To have all the members we want to have on Asana it's much higher overhead than what's worth spending at this time, however, if there were tiered roles that we could assign and one person (for instance) would have a basic "view" seat at $5/mo but another who's Admin was at a higher $30/mo, with a middle ground of "regular user" being at $15/mo that would allow more of the team to be on the platform, without necessarily having the ability (or need) to utilize the platform to it's full capacity, while also having the company analyze the performance of who actually needs an Admin seat. Also, interchanging those roles would be helpful for onboarding purposes; for instance if a new member joins, and we want to have visibility into a project without them actually being able to mark something as complete - but rather just a backseat watcher, they could have a view only seat so they could track how the status of a task or project goes along the way and when the team is ready they could be moved into a different tier role at a higher price paid seat. **What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?** Honestly, prior to utilizing Asana, there was no way of tracking tasks and projects. The KPIs were essentially non visible in the sense of being able to track/prove performance of a team member or overall department. As an entrepreneur I have wasted a lot of time and money with poor or inadequate software. Asana was clearly very well-designed, with a lot of nuance and interconnections, and very well built for a seamless and integrated experience. Also, it is very robust YET not very complicated. "Lots of features" doesn't always translate to "easy to use;" Asana met both desires impeccably. The company provides ample, high-quality learning opportunities, in text, videos and webinars. It beats the support of every other software I've ever used. The AI integrations to make customizing Asana to your company and your work flows/style/structure is amazing! Most other software is rigid, and you wind up bending yourself/staff/company around it. Asana gets 5 stars for this flexibility, which is core to truly optimizing our work quality and pace, not just a marketing claim. We just started using it, so have not used integrations yet, but were delighted by the HUGE list of app options, including MS 365, Slack, and more. This will make further customization of Asana to who we are and how we work easier and better! The price: Asana has the highest ROI of any SaS we have ever used, and we've used a lot. In fact, because it is so well designed and built, we will cancel a couple subscriptions due to superiority of Asana, and/or redundancies, so we're saving money in addition to the great price! Due your due diligence with shopping, yet know that it will be hard to impossible to find a better project management app than Asana. **What do you dislike about Asana?** Most software is built for office-type work, and ignores the trades. The work world in general overlooks the trades. I own a landscaping company, and I see this all the time. Moreover, software built for the trades is never what we truly need, no matter how big or expensive. We pay $7,600/year for LMN, and its project management functions are the worst we've ever seen. That's why we're looking at Asana. Asana would strike gold if it built templates etc. specifically for the trades, that we could then customize to our work. I hope you will!
