Solid Edge mainly uses its own native file formats. The most common ones are .par for part files, .asm for assemblies, and .dft for drawings. It also supports importing and exporting other formats like STEP, IGES, and STL, so you can still work with files from other CAD tools when needed.

Solid Edge uses proprietary file formats with specific extensions similar to other 3D CAD systems.  Those are:
.ASM = Assemblies
.PAR = Parts
.PSM = Sheet Metal
.DFT = Draft
