"Powerful, Flexible CFD Simulations with ANSYS Fluent"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?

I have been using ANSYS Fluent for a while now, mainly for the CFD modules and simulations. I really like how powerful and flexible it is. It provides great perfomance. With Fluent I work on both simple analysis, complex and heat transfer modules. The Physics models are extensive and once you get a hang of it you can get very accurate results. The UI is also good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?

The interface is good, but it does take some time to get used to. The learning curve can feel a bit steep in the beginning. If they can tweak the UI to be a little more user-friendly, it would be much better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User-Friendly GUI Transforms CFD Simulations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?

I like Ansys Fluent's easy GUI, which is very user-friendly and makes it accessible for new users. The names of the options, like 'fixed support,' are easy to understand compared to other software like Abaqus, which uses terms like 'Encastre' that can be confusing for newcomers. The initial setup of Ansys Fluent was smooth, and overall, it's a tool I'd rate highly in terms of usability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?

I wish there were more mesh refinement options to make the software easier to operate, similar to Siemens NX. Also, the ability to generate a fully quad mesh for complex geometries would be an improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Versatile, Accurate CFD—But a Steep Learning Curve"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?

Ansys fluent is a good, easy to use, CFD software which allows users to quickly implement design changes to CFD solutions for rapid, accurate, results. The tool is very versatile, allowing for CFD simulations in a range of domains including aerodynamics and fluid dynamics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?

The tool does take a long time to learn properly, and the overall interface with data collection can be clunky at times when compared to tools such as starccm Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful software, but expensive"
4/5
What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?

Fluent is a user friendly software, with powerful and stable numerical models. It can perform any kind of CFD simulations and has a complete and extensive manual, explaining also mathematical details. There is a lot of scientific literature that can guide the setup of a simulation and that can suggest the accuracy level that can be reached for specific simulation cases. You can also get useful information on mesh type, sizing etc, saving a high amount of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?

It's very expensive. Since the software is very powerful, the cost may be justified. However, such power is not always required and in this case cheaper alternatives may be evaluated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Fluid Flow Analysis Software!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?

It's a really nice and mostly used software for fluid flow analysis projects. I used to analyse my project on "Earth Air Heat Exchanger" where it helped me to create environment to approximate physical conditions. It gives great results, and the results also help in experimental analysis. I used fluid flow with heat transfer in this project and performed transient thermal CFD analysis. Overall, it's a great software to perform different fluid-related analyses. Ansys Fluent is great for simulating how fluids like air or water move in different situations. People like it because it's good at handling tricky problems and works for lots of industries. It's easy to use once you get the hang of it, and there's helpful support from Ansys and a community of users. Its multiphase flow simulation capability enables precise modeling of interactions between different fluid phases, which is pivotal in industries such as oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, and food processing. The turbulence modeling feature is vital for predicting turbulent behavior and indispensable in fields like aerospace for aerodynamics or HVAC system design. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?

There no perticular thing. But it requires heavy system requirements. For simple analysis it works just fine. But when you will go for some complex analysis it hangs a lot if your system doesn't have higher specifications. Learning it can be a bit hard at first. The cost is a downside too, as it can be expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A professional CFD platform"
5/5
What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?

I've been using ANSYS Fluent frequently in most of my analysis projects for nearly more than 2 years. The user interface is so professional and easy to learn, although the process of numerical simulation is so complex, the user interface makes the process easy and sequential. It provides all the needed features (more than needed too for researchers and amateurs). I don't face any problem while installation and implementation. I used to use the student version although it is limited but was sufficient for students, then I had access to a full version. Another important note is the customer support on the website and forum, you will find answers to problems from professionals and also you can post your problem and you will find many to help you. I usually use ANSYS with other software like SolidWorks, this integration gives the freedom to design, test, and edit mechanical parts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?

ANSYS Fluent usually consumes RAM and sometimes makes me disappointed when it runs into a problem before saving my project, I lose my work in these events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Advancing the field of physics using computational techniques"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Ansys Fluent?

ANSYS has a vast variety of tools to simulate almost every problem close to the real world environment. The best thing about ANSYS is that it is the best tool for beginners as well as advanced researchers as it has some predefined parameters alongside it lets you use the user-defined parameters also. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ansys Fluent?

The learning resources from ANSYS are very limited and it's tough to utilize that knowledge in the actual simulation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
