One feature I dislike is that in order to connect a PayPal purchase to an email automation, I have to use Zapier. Active Campaign was the best tool for what we needed - powerful, easy email with the ability to track high-level contact and deal data. **What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?** Two things - (1) The Chrome tool seems to have problems when tracking multiple Gmail inboxes - you can't auto-exclude a given inbox and (2) The email open tracking seems to overstate the number of email opens. Part of which might be the nature of email opens. The automations are elegant, the analytics top-notch, and the customer service is a life-saver (frankly, w/o the customer service representative that's available to answer my many questions, I'd give active campaign a 7 or so). Like so much in this industry, if you put the time in to learn it, you get your money's worth, and I'm looking forward to using the platform to its full potential particularly when it comes to its e-commerce side and the CRM functionality. And although I can't necessarily prove it, I suspect my emails sent via Active Campaign have a higher deliverability rate with providers like G-mail, Yahoo, Hotmail, and the like. And after all isn't that the whole point of email marketing -- to get into people's in-boxes to begin with? **What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?** Like all ESPs, the ramp-up is a bit confusing; but unlike the others, AC has at-the-ready CSR to augment their super-informative podcasts + videos + blogs, etc. There are lots of integrations, but SalesForce is not one of them (yet, apparently). The tutorials, videos and help were very useful and in less than a few days I was ready to send my first campaign. Within a week I was ready to send my first automation. After evaluating several products this was by far the easiest to use during my trial, and I quickly converted to the paid version. **What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?** The only small issue I had was a delay in speed one day. This was on a holiday so I assumed they may have been undergoing maintenance on the site. They said it was fixed, and it definitely is, no problems at all with page loads. No proper social media integration. Contacts have to be added manually - one at a time to do this. This takes time. Also, I'd like to be able to add the year to an automation. Additionally, they provide a nice discount to non-profits. Previously, I had used Infusion Soft as my CRM and was spending $400 a month (as opposed to $100/month) for the exact same functionality that I needed and a more intuitive design. Granted, I spent about 20-30 hours learning the ins and out of Infusion Soft. However, Active Campaign can be picked up in less than half the time. Last, I was very impressed with their onboarding process. Active Campaign gives you 5 onboarding sessions at no cost to make sure you truly understand the system (I believe Infusion Soft costs $1,500 for onboarding). They also imported my data from 4 different spreadsheets, which included data from Constant Contact, a membership platform called membership works, and 2 other .csv files. The importing process was seamless and they responded with 24 hours if I had any problems. **What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?** I wish they had a 24-hour chat option like many CRMs. They give you the option to email and will get back to you within the next day, but it's a little irritating when you get stuck with a small bug and can't fix it right away. **Recommendations to others considering ActiveCampaign:** If you're a small business, use Active Campaign. You'll easily save thousands a year by not using something such as Infusion Soft or Hub Spot. Honestly, I would use Active Campaign and jump straight to Hub Spot if you're business reaches that scale. As someone who has tried many different CRMs, I've been the happiest overall with Active Campaign. **What problems is ActiveCampaign solving and how is that benefiting you?** -automated reminders for a 4-week course we are doing with our clients. (both text and email) (otherwise, we'd need to send over 20 emails a month manually at specific times) - targeted email campaigns based on specific tags (rekindle members who have not been active in the past year) ### 45. I was using Mailchimp, which had given me the ability to send my daily inspirational quote to my subscribers for 5 years. For that purpose, it was great. But with a growing list and interest, came the need for me to start automating. That's when I realized I had outgrown Mailchimp. I took a good 3 to 4 months researching a new email marketing/automation platform. I read reviews, I watched tutorials on YT so that I could see the guts of several platforms. I asked around. The reply was consistent: AC is very robust and the easiest to use. So I finally made the decision for AC, and I am so happy I did. To start, the actual sale process was a real treat. I first signed up for the free trial, within a couple of hours someone called me to check up on me. Did I need anything? Did I find everything I was looking for? Did I want to accomplish something in particular? WOW Thanks, I have a Spanish-speaking audience, can I make everything in Spanish? "Of course" she said, then she put me in touch with Cristina, their bilingual expert. Cristina called right afterwards. She was super friendly, and got me to fully sign up in the right plan. She set me up with Shiv, for my onboarding sessions. My experience with Shiv was outstanding. He was personable, friendly and extremely helpful. He made it easy for me to follow along, and to even come up with my own automations and strategies in no time. Just comfortable and fun! Some time afterwards, I had an emergency. A crucial automation for my membership site launch would begin on a Sunday, when suddenly something triggered it to go live the Wednesday before. I immediately submitted a ticket to the help desk. And I also emailed Cristina as she had offered help anytime. She got back to me real quickly and got me Shiv again to help me on Thursday. Shiv even called me that Friday night —from his home, on his personal time— to make sure everything was working as it should. Well.... need I say more? Actually, yes! I feel that not only the AC team has my back, but that I have *friends* working with me. Cristina and Shiv have truly been outstanding in their support. So has Cris, with his excellent service during Office Hours, and instructive In Person Study Halls. He's a wealth of knowledge on marketing and automation strategies, tips and ideas. And, he's entertaining and great fun to listen to. I like there are tons of great features, automation recipes already created for you. Just pick and implement. They have Office Hours, One-to-One meetings, Courses, Podcasts, etc. All sorts of education and trainings to help you get the best of the platform, and grow your business. In short, I am just so happy with my AC friends! And the bottom line: I'm happy my new business is blossoming in the right direction thanks to this excellent platform. And, I have only scratched its surface! **What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?** I do not dislike anything. The system is intuitive and easy to navigate. I would like to have the support live chat back, they used to have it. (And nothing like an instant response, right? ) . If you send a support ticket you obviously need to wait. My experience with help tickets has been mixed. I've received a response fairly quickly most of the times. Other times, it's taken a week or a bit longer. **Recommendations to others considering ActiveCampaign:** Sign up for the free trial and see for yourself if this is the right platform for you. Also, the Automations builder is very easy to work with, makes sense, and has a ton of options for triggering actions, segmenting contacts, assigning deal values, and more. What truly impressed me though was the customer support, from the beginning stages of vetting out the platform for use, through my trial period, and during my onboarding. I worked with Drew Bilek during my exploratory phase and Shiv Chibber for my onboarding, and both were more than helpful. Drew worked with me to make sure my questions were answered, and assisted me with my trial. Shiv provided an all-star onboarding experience—he really listened to my needs and what we wanted to accomplish with the program and our business and tailored his onboarding training to fit. Really a wonderful experience with ActiveCampaign. **What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?** I'm still in the early phases of using the platform, and haven't tapped into the full scope of functionality that they offer, but I honestly haven't found anything so far that I didn't like. The UI is very friendly, the functionality makes sense, and when I do need help with anything, their support team is easy to access. **Recommendations to others considering ActiveCampaign:** If you're looking for a great email platform and CRM that gives you a ton of automation control, ActiveCampaign is for you. They're geared toward small businesses and have 5 star support. Their support team is honestly one of the best I've ever dealt with, and they will listen to your exact needs and get you the answers you're looking for. ActiveCampaign is great if you need help setting up any campaigns and they'll even provide great insight into strategy for your business. **What problems is ActiveCampaign solving and how is that benefiting you?** ActiveCampaign is helping us build timely automations based on different steps of our sales process that not only make sense, but help us organize our contacts and segment them so that we can understand their needs. Their Deals pipeline also is providing a great visual cue to how much revenue we have at each stage of the customer journey. While we aren't using the pipeline on a traditional sales outreach use case, Shiv helped me find value in it by working with it in the context of our specific business needs. ### 49. ActiveCampaign is so robust and when I'm stuck on a certain piece of an automation Support is always ready and eager to help me find a resolution. They are probably my favorite component of the AC experience I've had so far. **What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?** There are some integrations that are limited and require Zapier to bridge the gap - and at an additional expense, but that's fairly common when comparing other e-marketing platforms now. **Recommendations to others considering ActiveCampaign:** Just do it. Especially if you're a start-up and are considering using the Free MailChimp - just invest the $15/mo for the base-level of AC. It'll start you off in the best direction for getting comfortable in this robust platform, AND it'll give you access to automations, where MC requires a paid plan anyway. **What problems is ActiveCampaign solving and how is that benefiting you?** Saving so much time by automating repeat processes such on leads/submission form follow up, onboarding emails and documents, and a nurture sequence for off-boarding. With a clean easy to use interface, great documentation, and amazing training and support setup was a breeze. **What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?** The popup modals. When a modal is active it somewhat frustrating to highlight information in a form field and have the modal hide because your mouse click might have accidentally been outside the modal and the backdrop. Having to go back and trigger the modal from the automation workflow again to get back to where you left, while not the end of the world, is frustrating and annoying. **Recommendations to others considering ActiveCampaign:** I would highly recommend ActiveCampaign if you are a small business looking to implement marketing automation into your workflows. **What problems is ActiveCampaign solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Active Campaign, we are now able to free up more from our Sales team tracking and sending email follow-ups.
