Clio helps me get paid. Clio helps me track my work. I think possibly the greatest asset is that it allows me to properly track my time and makes it easy to get emails in there. It does work with some other tools and has some decent, quite a big library of integrations. You can also build your own integration, so that's very helpful. In my work, it has to improve in reporting and analytic capabilities, especially access to structured exports, APIs, or audit logs for deeper analysis. Better integration options with data pipelines and more granular metadata around documents and workflows would also make it easier to track, monitor, and automate legal data at scale. They recently changed their expiration date year code, and you now have to enter all four digits. Not only is it confusing that they didn't let anyone know they were switching it from two-digit to four-digit, but to me is seems entirely unnecessary, especially at the beginning of a millenium. The "matter" approach was pretty jarring when my previous system filed and billed by "client." This made importing information into the system a bit of a process, but something that Smokeball on-boarding staff are very familiar with and helpful in designing an on-boarding plan that made sense out of the chaos. It can also take some extra time to load the web-browser based application and to understand the features that are only available "on the web" versus the options available when you instead use the optional desktop application (my preferred spot for working). Providing access to case information, documents, and billing wherever I am working from without having to remote connect to an in-house server or office desktop frees me to work and respond wherever I go, while custom built workflows keep new client matters moving from one stage to the next without the need to review all my files for any "stragglers." Some features can take time to learn at first, especially when working with templates or more advanced customization options. The billing syncs with QuickBooks, but sometimes the syncing gets stuck, and you have to remember that the syncing is one-way. In other words, if you delete a transaction in 8am MyCase, you need to manually delete or void it in QuickBooks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The billing dashboard is well-organized and user-friendly. Key information is easily accessible, which supports efficient day-to-day use by legal and finance teams. Tracking statutes, developing task emails on a daily basis, forming client list. As far as task emails, I type in a date on a workflow and I can forget about what task I need to do until I get a daily email reminding me of what I need to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

All of my billing is done through Practice Panther, and the client portal is great for sending and managing client sensitive information (death certificates, social security numbers, bank accounts, etc.). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don’t like that the statement options are tied to the matter screen. For example, we list INITIAL, INTERIM & FINAL on all our statements, and we have to change that on the matter screen. Once you change it, all reprinted statements are marked with whatever the last Phase was that you entered on the matter screen.

Also, in General Ledger (when you enter a check), it would be really helpful if you could copy and paste. When you have an entry with multiple accounts where the cost will be split up, you add the accounts (or they are autopopulated from the last check) and then you should be able to split the amount evenly across the accounts by highlighting them and copying and pasting. TABS handles everything for us: billing, timekeeper entries, issuing checks for payments, and the firm’s general ledger accounting. We also use Practice Master for case management, along with all of our productivity and hour-recap reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Filevine could improve its speed and overall performance, as occasional lag can interrupt workflow efficiency. Enhancing the search functionality would also be very beneficial, making it easier to quickly locate specific documents or information within large cases. Additionally, more flexibility in customizing workflows, reports, and notifications would help teams tailor the platform more closely to their specific needs. I would like to see them add billing, both per client and on a project basis, and it would be nice if it could actually track across devices. I use my tablets and even my phone for work and that's not tracked. It's not a big deal -- I am working on my tablet most of the time, but if my computer is down for some reason and I'm using my tablet, it would be nice to have it track. Memtime automates time tracking, cutting billing from days to hours and reducing non-billable hours. Its activity-based suggestions and good documentation make timeline management easier, allowing me to focus more on my projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Although Amberlo meets my expectations and I generally find it very easy to use, there are a few minor elements that could be refined in the future. At times, one would wish for some functions to load a bit faster, especially with a larger amount of data. It would also be useful to have a few additional options for customizing views, which would allow for even better adaptation of the program to one's own work style. However, these are rather minor suggestions than actual drawbacks, as the system operates stably on a daily basis and fulfills its role without any reservations. Amberlo primarily solves the problem of information dispersion and the necessity of using many different tools. By integrating case management, documents, clients, scheduling, time tracking, and invoicing in one place, it eliminates organizational chaos and the risk of errors. The program also improves internal communication and allows for quicker access to necessary information, resulting in real time savings. Automatic time tracking, document generation, and quick invoicing eliminate repetitive, manual tasks. As a result, work becomes more organized, faster, and efficient, allowing the user to focus on the substantive part of their activities instead of administration. There are some things that litify can do and from my understanding its in the works. We file alot of documents to the court and if we can implement a few of those options into litify to be able to file within litify that would save us alot of time and problems. One downside of Lawmatics is that the interface can feel clunky and unintuitive at times, especially when navigating workflows or setting up automations. Many users also mention a learning curve, it can be overwhelming at first and takes time to fully configure and use effectively. Lawmatics is mainly solving the problem of disorganized client intake and missed opportunities, things like unanswered inquiries, delayed follow-ups, and scattered client data. It centralizes everything and automates responses, so fewer leads fall through the cracks and conversion rates improve.

For me, that means less manual admin work and more consistent follow-up, which directly helps turn more prospects into actual clients while keeping the whole pipeline visible and easier to manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
