**What do you like best about Trillian?**

Trillian is cheap and lightweight, with plans for business tier lower than competitors at the person user rate. I like that it has real desktop clients, with many platforms supported, as for my team we have a mixture of different devices used in our day to day.

**What do you dislike about Trillian?**

Trillian has a weak ecosystem, with limited integration support beyond a few options that are out of scope for my team and me.

I like that Trillian is HIPAA Compliant as I work in the healthcare industry. Protecting client information is extremely important, and HIPAA compliance helps to ensure that communications between staff members stay secure.

**What do you dislike about Trillian?**

Setup was a chore, and compared to other platforms, Trillian's interface is very outdated. Setup was not as simple as expected.

**What do you like best about Trillian?**

I like best that this chat is user friendly an HIPPA compliant. It is able to be accessed from laptop, desktop, cell phone; both in office and away from the office. This allows us to set up group messages where we can chat about patients directly.

**What do you dislike about Trillian?**

The one and only thing that I don't like about this is when you are using a group chat you are not able to buzz anyone to notify them or grab his/her attention versus when it is chat one on one you can select to buzz the recipient to get their attention.

**What problems is Trillian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have one messaging service used by employees and physicians both on site and off-site best part it is HIPPA Compliant. The fact it can be used on your cell phone, your desktop, and laptop. Saves time from walking files down to the clinic as they can be sent safely through trillion. Can message group of Radiologists and or physicians about patient and they get messages right away don't have to go check email to get message comes to phone just like a text and pops up on computer like any instant message.

Trillian is a lightweight, reliable platform that runs smoothly even on lower-end devices. It’s regularly updated in ways that genuinely boost performance, not just the look and feel. The chat is clean, intuitive, and works well across both corporate and educational contexts. We’ve never experienced downtime—the uptime has been consistently solid.

**What do you dislike about Trillian?**

One thing I’d love to see is clearer alerts for unanswered messages. With multiple conversations happening at once, having a way to flag pending replies would really help us stay on top of things.

We use Trillian to coordinate with student leaders, handle urgent on-campus issues, and stay in touch with off-campus staff during breaks or internships.

**What do you like best about Trillian?**

It's fairly easy to message people once they've been added as a favorite. I also appreciate that there is an app where I can easily access it by phone when I am in transit. Overall all it's just ok. It's very basic. Zero bells and whistles, but it provides a way to communicate that is quicker than email. In that regard it meets expectations.

**What do you dislike about Trillian?**

I feel the technology and interface is antequated by comparison to other instant messaging applications. Trillian is not intuitive. I still find it challenging to try and add people to my contacts. And being able to simply acknowledge someone's message with an emoji instead of necessitating a full reply would also be preferable. Overall all it's ok. It's very basic. Zero bells and whistles, but it provides a way to communicate that is quicker than email. In that regard it meets expectations.

**What do you like best about Trillian?**

What we love about trillian is it's availability on multiple platforms including Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. This allows us to access our accounts across various devices seamlessly. Our chat histories are always synced no matter what plaform do we access it from and that's some mind blowing consistency. Also we can have personalised themes and chat backgrounds which helps with personal customization, some extra points for that.

None so far. I'm happy with features available in trillian.

For us, it addresses the challenge of managing multiple messaging accounts across different platforms and chat networks by providing a centralized solution. Prior to services like Trillian, we had to juggle multiple messaging applications to stay connected with contacts who used various platforms such as AIM, ICQ, Yahoo Messenger, and more. This fragmented approach was inconvenient, time-consuming, and overwhelming for us. So to streamline our communication channels we switched to trillian.

**What do you like best about Trillian?**

Trillian helps with instant messaging in healthcare, other businesses and individuals. Though we have taken up pro membership, there are free messaging services too provided by them. They have an amazing option for private chats as well as creating channels for our team. Works great when you have to work with your team. Adding contacts is pretty easy as well. Overall an easy going tool helping connect people  well.

None. It's a simple app, no fuss. Have been using for quite some while smoothly now.

Their team is very responsive to any request that I have for them. The layout is easy to maneuver, which helps with some of our less technical employees. Very simple to install on computers. We use it daily in the office.

The ability to download the archive. But they said there is an update coming to allow administrators to do this.

Ease of communicating with the team in various physical locations. Picking up the phone is sometimes cumbersome, so the ability to communicate with my team instantly is huge. Especially with group messages.

Back in the days when push messaging didnt exist Trillian is the platform that best served my needs and the fact that I can link my Facebook and Gmail is a plus because it also saves on the mobile device storage.

The paid version is a bit expesive than the competitors and the fact that my contacts dont use the app also disadvantages it because I end up using it for my mail and social media accounts

Secure business communication and guarantee that the users will get the communication since I can send messages to offline users. The ability to have my message history saved and available at all times is helpful in the business world because you'll never when you might need an audit trail.

Very easy to use. Very reliable. Robust set of tools.

No major downsides. You can format IMs in bold, italics and such, but only if you CTRL+B, CTRL+I, etc. It'd be nice if that was shown as an option. Maybe some better organization of group IMs as well. They get a little messy as they accumulate over time.

I love the way how we can work on this software because we can have better communication with each of the employees and potential clients. After all, if we can improve each service and the quality of technical support through text messaging, it has a maximum of features that allow us to have control of everything immediately and automatically.

Specifically and without inconveniences I have nothing against the application since it led us to have constant communication and without any problem with employees and clients, it has a great user interface since it is very easy to use and has a great advance of modernity

Trillian is an aid in the field of communication through text messaging since it includes us in the maximum amount of information that is in the cloud so we can count on each one of the contact lists and make video calls without any inconvenience, your instant message it is really fast, practical and easy to use.

This software is similar to slack in its features and appearance and is far less expensive to make HIPPA compliant than slack is.  It's fully featured, offers group and private group channel-based chats, and even provides an emergency contact option which is helpful to our healthcare workers.

**What do you dislike about Trillian?**

The second panel is a bit complicated to get used to initially, if you have used slack before it will quickly get familiar but there are enough differences to be confused with it at first if you are not tech-savvy.

**Recommendations to others considering Trillian:**

If you're looking for a HIPPA compliant or even just a data secure chat messaging system for your teams with the ability to create dedicated private channels similar to slack, this is a much more affordable option with a few additional features beyond what slack offers.

We're using Trillian to communicate across internal teams and with practitioners while maintaining HIPPA compliance standards.  It is a fantastic alternative to more expensive solutions.

I really like that it is instantaneous. I also appreciate that you can enter a quick little status such as "in a meeting" or "Out of Office today". I work for a virtual school and this is what we use to talk to our staff members instantly!

**What do you dislike about Trillian?**

I really hate the whole "add me as a friend" thing. I completely understand that this platform isn't necessarily meant directly for businesses. But I had SUCH a struggle when we'd get a new team member, and they wouldn't add me back on Trillian, so I would have no way to get in contact with them. Another weird thing is, on Microsoft desktop app at least, there's no indication that someone has added you as a friend, so they'd never get the notification. On my personal Macbook, it changes my status for when I am active. But for my microsoft desktop app, it does not change instantly.

I really like that you can see the status of other people based on if they are idle or not. I also like that you can customize your own status. I appreciate having it on a mobile app. The biggest problem we've been able to solve with this is getting in touch with someone right away, so thank you!

I find Trillian easy to use and pretty intuitive. I like that you can set your status and mute groups as needed. It works great for our team, as we have to divide the workload between different departments across buildings.

I wish we could change the avatars for the specific groups we created. But, other than that, I don't have many complaints. The visual user interface is easy to use, but not super modern looking.

I like that it is available on my desktop, laptop, and my cellphone; this way I am always able to get messages from co-workers don't have to be at my work desktop or logged into my laptop to get messages.  I like that you can have groups set up by departments at the office for example all of the lab technicians simply set the group and then just select group title to send to that department.

**What do you dislike about Trillian?**

I honestly haven't come across anything that i don't like or that I have any issues with at this time.

I would most certainly recommend that your company tries this software before trying anything else as it truly has many features designed to fit most businesses needs

We can send messages through our company and knowing that this is a private chat we can message secured information on this platform. For instance, we can message the Financial aid office from registers office students' information including but not limited to; Name, Address, DOB, .and SS number and not have to worry about this information being hacked by anyone. **What do you like best about Trillian?**

I have used Trillian for a while and like the way I can have it on multiple devices with the option to receive, send, and sync between all of them.  I can even read and respond to messages on my Apple Watch while I am out.   I use it within the office to communicate with some of our at-home staff, and we find that the notifications for the messages show up and alert without being obstructive.

**What do you dislike about Trillian?**

The recent price hike would be the biggest dislike and the moment even though I understand why they did it.  Other items would be photos come though one by one and not a group.  Same with sending photos, you have to do them one at a time.

**Recommendations to others considering Trillian:**

I have used Trillian for years as a replacement for AOL instant messenger before using it in my business and can say that it has passed the test of time.  The program and service are better now as improvements keep getting made.  If you are looking for an alternative to WhatsApp or Teams that is simple for communication, this is it.

**What problems is Trillian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Trillian here to communicate with my team while they are working outside of the office.  It helps us to keep communication flowing privately without calling each other all the time. While we are on-site with clients, it's not always convenient to take a call to answer a small question.  With Trillian, we message it.

**What do you like best about Trillian?**

Trillian is helpful because it automatically saves the conversations that you have with your teammates. Sometimes when we are chatting about an assignment, close the window quickly when the conversation is over. Trillian saves a copy of your conversation locally, so I am able to go back and double-check what we had chatted about even if I am offline.

**What do you dislike about Trillian?**

If you have the notifications set up to notify you when a teammate changes status, they can sometimes get in the way of other actions that you maybe doing.  It can be distracting.

**What problems is Trillian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trillian enables our team to communicate instantly, even though the majority of us are spread out throughout the country. We can have private chats or group chats, and it is like we are all in the same room together.

Trillian is available in a web-based version & a desktop application (in the event something more feature-rich is necessary); compared to other similar applications it is not only long-lived but superior.  A lifetime license is available and interoperability appears to be an ongoing priority.

**What do you dislike about Trillian?**

There are circumstances under which connectivity via Trillian can be found insufficient (e.g. new features not included with a given chat network provider's API, lack of API connectivity offered by a given provider, etc.); under such circumstances there does not appear to be anything which Trillian can do to help...

Try out IM+ and see which meets your needs.

Continued connectivity despite extraordinary stress on networks, applications, and even sustainable economics is something which Trillian has proved to help mitigate.

One stop shop for many message apps to be centralized in 1 main app.  Great if you have many friends and family, and colleagues using different apps.

there were many times where the messaging didnt work for certain applications, seems as though they dont want people going thru Trillian to access those chats.

Trying to consolidate the number of different chat technologies that people are using.  Great also for specific profiles and saving those settings which would allow cross platform import of those settings

not much anymore used to use this a lot but there isnt much use for it now with more robust applications. as a simple chat tool this works great, probably one of the best out there. its good cross platform and easy to use

Good for chat only if that is all you need then this will work if you need more features then there are other and better options. doesnt have the features we needed or want basic chat application. we needed a more robust solution I was familiar with this from years ago when the IM apps were popular. **What do you like best about Trillian?**

The best feature is we can access multiple chats together with ease, we can share live images through camera, we can share any documents, files or pictures with ease. Other good thing is no one can chat until we accept the request to chat, so you can decide with whom you want to connect. Moreover, other good things renewal process of the account is easy and convenient. I can chat with multiple people at a time. Moreover the other advantage is when you use this messenger on your cellphone through its app, inspite you have closed that app, it gets opened automatically with zero error and give us the notification of new messages. The accuracy of prompt response is superb. Compare to all the other messenging apps I have used so far, I found trillian to be best so far.

**What do you dislike about Trillian?**

Connecting with new contacts is little confusing. We need to enter the details of Trillian id. However, inspite of entering Trillian id, it does not add the required contact. There are few errors in this I guess. This is the only drawback I found so far, but ignoring this small issue this is indeed great app.

**Recommendations to others considering Trillian:**

This is definitely a good messenging app. It works great and helps us to connect with lot of people with ease. Great software to use in a business for connecting.

Various problems in and out that occurs in any company could be easily resolved by sending a quick message through this messenger. Sharing screenshots also help you to track anything or respond to any errors you have while doing your work.

Runs on all platforms, is HIPAA compliant, Is extremely customizable at the admin side and then at the users side.  Interface handles graphics and html links and audio.  Great Im for business - simple and does the job its suppose to

One way messages not yet set up - we hope they will add for a one to many one way message blasts.  We need to blast all users quickly with FYI's.  Word has it will happen in next release

**What do you like best about Trillian?**

As a long time user of Trillian, I would say the thing I like best is that its so intuitive to use. I am the company administrator, and I have almost never had to instruct employees on how to use the software.  Its also super easy to manage users and group using the admin tools on trillian.im.  Anytime I have needed help or a question answered, Trillian staff have always responded immediately and have always taken ideas for improvement seriously and in fact, welcome those ideas. The new SMS to text features are fantastic!

**What do you dislike about Trillian?**

Can't think of anything I don't like honestly. 

**Recommendations to others considering Trillian:**

Just give it a shot.  You will be glad you did. 

**What problems is Trillian solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, using Trillian has saved a ton of time administering messaging accounts for users (60+). Other messaging platforms don't have an admin interface where I can create users myself, manage passwords, manage what groups they belong to, etc.  With Trillian, I add a user to my company, and boom, everyone sees them instantly. Other messenger platforms I would have to create individual accounts and then log into those accounts and search for people and then add them as a friend, etc, etc. If an employee left, I would have to somehow delete the account which was always more painful.   Trillian is a lot more business friendly in this aspect. I also like that its available on other platforms, like Android so when I am away from my desk, my messages appear on my phone.  Its pretty nice.

Get anyone you can in your office to use it.  Having the team all on the same page together has made our work so much more efficient and really improved all of our communication skills.

A lot!  Our email inboxes are not overflowing with simple office conversations.  This has been able to keep us on task and much more efficient in completing tasks and getting questions answered in a timely manner. We have multiple Administrative Assistants using Trillian.  Sometimes we are working on the same projects and need quick and efficient communication....Trillian makes this happen!

CONSTANTLY BEING ON THE PHONE, AND INTERRUPTING THEM ON THE JOB SITE.  IF THEY ARE CARRYING MATERIALS THEY CANT STOP AND ANSWER THE PHONE, BUT  WHEN THEY STOP THEY CAN SEE THE MESSAGE WE ARE RELAYING, WHICH CAN BE IMPORTANT TO THEIR APPOINTMENTS.. DOGS, GATE COMBOS, ETC..

Admin side is very simple and easy -- I like that we have access to chat history of all employees. 
As a user, I like the simple screen snipping tool -- it makes remote collaboration very easy. I also like the small collection of animated emojis!

There's not anything I dislike, actually. The tool serves our purposes perfectly. It is just simple enough to not clutter our work day with unnecessary distractions and yet has all the functionality we need
