What do you like best about SYNCHRO Construction?

Very easy to use PROVIDED you understand how it works. The interface is not the best but once you get used to it, it is like a dream. Synchro is extremely powerful at what it does i.e. linking your model to your schedule Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SYNCHRO Construction?

Interface can definitely be improved. Synchro can do a WHOLE LOT but it is hard to find because the interface is so cumbersome. Synchro SITE cannot run bigger models even with 3D filters in place. Need to get Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering SYNCHRO Construction:

Biggest recommendation: TAKE YOUR TIME AND GO THROUGH THE TRAININGS. Syncho is a GREAT software and can do a whole host of things. Bentley's support for this product is also on point. However, to become a power user you need to know the ins and outs of this software and how it thinks. Given that the interface for this product is not the best, it does take time to get used to however, once you do get used it to it you can customize it however you want. What problems is SYNCHRO Construction solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Synchro for basically two things: 4D Construction Sequence Animation, and Visual Production Tracking.

Using the 4D Construction Sequence Animation is extremely beneficial for pursuits and in the construction stage to truly understand how your building is going to pan out. This can help you catch gaps in your schedule and help your plan for execution and create a comprehensive logistics plan for each phase of the building depending on how you see the flow of workers and materials in or out.

The Visual Production Tracking piece is absolute gold. We created custom statuses depending on the way we wanted to track our items. We then proceeded to perform daily VISUAL production tracking on the job site i.e. marking things complete ONLY if they are truly complete. This took all the guesswork out of production tracking. We were no longer giving the client guesstimates of where we were in terms of completion because we could really SEE where we were in the Synchro model. This helped us keep our fingers on the pulse of the project, generate trust, give us a mental sense of peace and help trigger conversations which usually go unsaid. What do you like best about SYNCHRO Construction?

Synchro is very quick to learn, handles a large number of model formats and the performance is very fast on complex models. It can stand on its own a scheduling software, so you don't have to rely another program to create / modify your schedules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SYNCHRO Construction?

It can take some time to really grasp how resource trees are setup. Setting up the synchronization with some version of Primavera Project Planner can be time consuming as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering SYNCHRO Construction:

Get in touch with the Synchro team and try it out. The depth of features is very surprising and their support, including the free Synchro Academy, is great. I have never had a reason to complain with their support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is SYNCHRO Construction solving and how is that benefiting you?

Visualizing a project schedule can be tricky; with the right models Synchro makes it easy. It's an incredibly useful tool for project planning and scheduling. Once a project has used Synchro, they're very unlikely to want to use anything else. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about SYNCHRO Construction?

The program has a lot of tracking tools, from fabrication to accounting. Although, it is extremely time consuming the results are rewarding. Has a free scheduling module. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SYNCHRO Construction?

Although it has many features, they are rarely used. The main thing we use Synchro for is to create 4D animations. Time management is key when using this software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
