**What do you like best about Contractor Foreman?**

I say this over and over, but their customer service is top notch.  Anytime that I have an issue, their chat services are readily available to help me. They have screen share abilities and can walk you through your problems.

**What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?**

The updates. It seems like every update comes with a ton of bug fixes and all of our field employees struggle to get back into the app after an update.

**What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contractor foreman is our whole world basically. We integrate it with quickbooks but we use CF for all job costing and time cards, submittals, and project management.

**What do you like best about Contractor Foreman?**

Fortunately, server issues and pages not loading at all have been infrequent and short lasting when they do happen. 
They are obviously trying to improve, but in the strangest ways. If stability were a known issue, don't make it look better...make it stable. They have started implementing "beta" pages into production environments. You can not opt out and can not turn them off at all. You can still chose...on...each...beta...page, to chose to go back to "classic. But literally every page load you would have to chose this. 
There is still absolutely no heads up that they are pushing some new code to production. You just have to hold your breath and hope that tomorrow isn't one of those "update" days. It will definitely! impact your production. The last update was 3 weeks ago. We are still fighting for them to fix bugs that cost us hours per week of extra clicks, refreshes, manual fixes...per employee.  I know that at this point it's on us...for continuing to trust that they will improve.

**What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?**

Focus development solely on stability and implement any new "features" slowly. Take care of your current customer base before trying to add features that attract new customers. Keep caring for your support team that does seem to genuinely care...until they interact with development...at which point every intentional, conscientious support team member seems to respond with some of the most unsupportive, unhelpful solutions.   

**What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contractor Foreman is an efficient, inexpensive project management tool appealing to a very large and varied construction market. We have been excited to move towards efficiency and simplicity, in order to gain production and administrative bandwidth.

While some of the recent interface updates may appear cosmetic, they are part of a broader effort to improve long-term code stability, performance, and maintainability across the platform.

We also want to acknowledge your concerns about the timing and impact of system updates. While major updates are rolled out quarterly, we do push bug fixes as needed between those cycles. That said, we know the lack of advanced notice can be disruptive, and it's something we're actively working to improve internally.

We’re putting more weight behind reported bugs, both in terms of triage and follow-through, because we recognize how much they affect day-to-day operations. Our team has made internal structural changes to better track and respond to the real-world impact these issues have on our customers.

**What do you like best about Contractor Foreman?**

I have been using Contractor Foreman for over 2 years now and overall, it is great, it has made my work so much easier in many different ways including Creating Purchase orders, Change Orders, Daily reports, Logging my employees Timecards, Etc. There are so many useful functions, and every function is very user friendly, and if there is anything I'm having trouble with I join a live chat on the platform, and they help me figure it out in a very short period of time.

There are very minimal things i dislike about contractor foreman, the only thing i can think of is occasionally the platform will have some issues on their end with but they get resolved very quickly

The mobile app can be a little slow, especially when uploading photos or reports. Some menus feel crowded, and customizing reports could be easier.

This program is nearly everything you need -from a software standing- to run a construction business from start to finish. Or what I'd call, your customer journey.  It is more complete than any other software I've seen and the pricing is so, so reasonable.

**What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?**

very, very few.  they continue to add some features.  I think the only downside is that it plays heavily to general contractors and hasn't quite yet been streamlined for trade contractors.  We have slightly different needs, for example far more jobs going on at once, and a need to get that information into the hands of employees with great ease.

customer management from start to finish.  from estimating to final billing, this system keeps things organized, and acts as a usable, database powerhouse, for internal communications, to make things go smooth.

Disappointing Experience with Contractor Foreman – Extremely Slow and Unreliable

I’ve been using Contractor Foreman for a couple of months now, and unfortunately, the performance issues have made it nearly impossible to rely on for our day-to-day work. One of the biggest problems is how incredibly slow the platform is. It takes forever to load projects, and even simple tasks like switching between tabs or accessing the dashboard can be painfully slow. This isn’t just a minor inconvenience – it has a real impact on our team's productivity.

We’ve had to repeatedly clear the cache to try and improve the speed, but even that doesn’t seem to help much. It’s frustrating to have to wait several minutes just to get simple tasks done, especially when we’re trying to stay on top of multiple projects and deadlines.

Contractor Foreman is meant to streamline workflows and improve efficiency, but its sluggish performance has the opposite effect. I’m constantly finding myself wondering if there’s a better alternative that actually works in a timely manner. At this point, I’m really disappointed with the overall functionality, especially considering how critical these tools are for managing our work effectively.

If the speed and reliability issues aren’t addressed soon, it’ll become more of a hindrance than a help for our company.

That’s definitely not the experience we want for our users.  

Performance and reliability are top priorities for us, and we take concerns like yours seriously. While we continuously work on optimizing system speed and responsiveness, we understand that delays in loading projects and navigating between tabs can have a significant impact on productivity.  

We also completely understand and share your frustration regarding the slow loading speed, especially with the Project module. While it may seem like we are not actively addressing this, that is far from the truth.  

Since November 2024, we have been working on a major server migration to a new, more powerful server environment. This upgrade will bring significant speed improvements, allowing us to execute PHP threads and MySQL queries much faster compared to the EC2 instances and RDS database currently in use.  

But we’re not stopping there. As you may have noticed, we have been gradually rolling out UI improvements across the system. While the Project module already has the new UI, it is still running on older PHP code. We are currently in the process of rewriting it from PHP to React, which will provide a major boost in performance by optimizing the way data is fetched.  

These two enhancements—server migration and the React rewrite, are expected to eliminate the loading issues that large accounts with high project volumes, like yours, have been experiencing.  

What’s Next?
-The server migration is expected to be completed within the next 45-60 days.  
-The Project module rewrite will begin in the coming weeks and could be part of the Spring update.  
-We are also evaluating whether to release the Project module update as a separate update to speed up improvements.  
-Given that your account has more projects than most, our team is reviewing its performance to identify any immediate optimizations.  

We’d love the opportunity to work directly with you to troubleshoot and explore interim solutions that might help alleviate some of the performance concerns while these major updates are underway. **What do you like best about Contractor Foreman?**

I really enjoy the ability to track a job's cost. I really like the ability to customize reports. I also really enjoy the Change orders, as well as the ability to upload things into contractor Foreman so easily. It is also very easy to use. We use this product daily and it has helped our teams with completing projects. Implementing Contractor foreman was very easy as well and integrating it was even easier to do. Customer support chat is helpful as well.

**What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?**

I do not like how you area unable to customize more things to tailor the system to the need for the company. I also do not like how a lot of features are not usable on the app and your phone will not let you use the web to view.

Contractor Foreman has been solving the problem with organization. With having so many jobs for everyone to focus on things can get mixed up with files on a computer so its nice to have the cloud and everything for a specific job located in the project itself

As a relatively new software, changes are constantly being implemented to keep the software at the cutting-edge. It also has a great app, and many of the features are really easy to use.

To save data storage costs, photos are stored at low resolution which can be a real issue when trying to look back for a small details. A specific feature to store and read drawings would also be very useful - at the moment they are just stored as files.

Primarily it serves as a central place where everyone necessary can store and access important information relating to the scheme. If used correctly, it aslo ensures that all information accessed is up to date.

We use contractor foreman for almost everything. From estimating jobs, tracking employees time, purchase orders, change orders, billing, invoices, etc. Best part is the mobile app which I found to be better than most of the others out there. Customer service is amazing. I can connect to a human usually within a few minutes online and if they cannot help me they will escalate the issue and someone will get back to me by email.

Intergration with Quickbooks can get annoying to set up, and rarely a item won't transfer over. Would also like a few minor things updates like more control to fix time cards, having estimates auto populate expiry dates, or being able to set defualt tax for different modules.

Contractor Foreman gave us a working mobile app! We have tried other options like Sage 100 Contractor's mobile app that just didn't work at all. It also comes wih built in estamation software that once we have set up, and got the item database all set up too, we have been able to make very professional estimates extreamly quickly.

I'm finally able to get a real handle on what's happening in the field and in the office, all thanks to its streamlined platform.  The real-time notifications are a lifesaver.  I get instant updates on employee chats, project tasks assigned to my team, and even time card changes.  Knowing where everyone is and what they're working on has drastically improved our communication and efficiency.

What I really love is how Contractor Foreman tracks our labor.  It seamlessly integrates with our payroll company, making job costing a breeze.  This has saved me countless hours of manual data entry and helped us get a much clearer picture of our project expenses.

The "1 build" feature is another huge win for me.  Being able to manage proposals and job costing all within a single screen is fantastic.  It keeps everything organized and ensures accuracy, which is critical for our bottom line.  No more switching between multiple programs or spreadsheets!

If I could add one thing, it would be a built-in material calculator within the "1 build" section. The ease of use and the linking of modules to avoid multiple data entries. We've been using Contractor Foreman since late July 2024. We use both the website as well as the mobile app. The combination of those two working in tandem in real time helps us continually work efficiently between the field staff and the office. Communication is easy with just a few clicks and we are there.

**What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?**

We use service tickets in Contractor Foreman since 99% of our work is done on a daily basis. The one thing that doesn't work for us is the fact that the service tickets are not connected to the time cards. We clock into a project that has a service ticket but the time does not get recorded in the service ticket. It gets recorded in the project. It would be really nice if we could just clock into the service ticket as well as the project.  Or if the project is clocked in, we would like to be able to choose/attach a service ticket in that clock in.

**What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We usually have more than one visit to a project which means we also have more than one service ticket outstanding for a project. These multiple trips are now being documented in Contractor Foreman as separate service tickets so we can manage outstanding work that needs attention. Before we started using Contractor Foreman, we kept a running list but it seemed that some items never got completed. Now we are managing those items better and our list has greatly shortened.

Contractor Foreman has a decently helpful AI bot to help with any issues you have, but as soon as you need a human's help, you are instantly connected to a support agent. And I mean INSTANTLY. Of the many times I needed help, I received help from a human right away! I always had confidence useing the program knowing that if I ran into issues, it could easily be resolved quickly and efficiently. Best customer service from a program like this that I've ever experienced.

Contractor Foreman doesn't have every feature imaginable. So if it doesn't have the specific features your company needs, then it may not be the best fit.

The calendar has never really worked successfully with the google calendar. When I report an issue, it seems like it refreshes for a day or so, then not working again. 
We just don’t use the calendar feature anymore.

CF is fairly easy to use and for our small company the price is right for us. It has everything we need to track our Project, Contractors, employees and vehicle and much more. Many setting that can be added and/or removed as you wish. Connects to Quick Books as well. It has quick chat assist that is very helpful that appears to be real humans, at this point.

CF has a few quirky things that are not very intuitive. When inputting invoices you have to start from scratch every time. I cannot find a way to input multiple invoices to the same project without having to put the project in every time. It has a lot of type, mouse, type, mouse actions that should be fixed by autofill

**What do you like best about Contractor Foreman?**

The 'cost items database' is the most useful tool to me as a solo tile contractor because it is a library of common materials, labor, equipment and subcontractors I use on almost every job. I've built the database myself by adding each material manually but am aware they have created a database that populates automatically, which would be great for larger construction companies or commercial work. Templates for estimates and invoices is a huge time saver as well when linked with the CID. I bring my laptop and sit with the client and offer an estimate before I leave and they have an idea what everything will cost, has increased my win rate significantly. It helps make me look professional. The customer support seems great, when I've had to use it the team member was very helpful, knowledgable and quick to assist me. I use the software for each estimate which lately hasn't been many during the holidays but on average I'm sending a couple estimates out a month.

**What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?**

As far as the functionality the software is great and maybe a bit much for me since I don't use a lot of the modules regularly, but there really isn't anything to dislike about it. It feels kinda antiquated on the design side. Some of the email options when sending estimates is lacking like not being able to send myself a copy of the estimate, but it really isn't necessary since everything is kept in CF anyway. Overall it is great software. I used a couple other softwares before finding contractor foreman and haven't wanted to change since.

keeping track of contacts and leads is huge and linking them to projects and estimates is essential to staying organized during estimating. Also keeping track of my time is a great habit i've started to help in my estimating and the software makes it easy to log in and track my day. It is also great to see what my margins and profits are where I can adjust if I'm not profitable.

So far we have been realy liking the Time Cards Module and the forms and checklists. We are slowly introducing this software to our field guys to make it an easier adustment for them and the team in the office. I love the help chat that they offer. As someone who typically like to talk to humans (not AI) I actually really like the Ai integration to the help chat. It make me feel comfortable asking more questions and the best part is you have the option to talk to a human. We are looking forward to using all the modules in full come the new year and integrading it with our payroll system.

So far my only concern has been to make it easier when clocking hours for subtrades. Either I am not understanding that section fully or I may just need further assitance in that department.

The thing I like the most is how I can track our projects in one single plataform. It makes project management, cost tracking, and time management much easier. It has really help the management and the team to keep everything organized and on track.

I only wish they had an accounting module BUT they do intergrate with Quickbooks so this works out in the end.

We needed a program where all of our employees could access any project and be able to view the work in progress, plans, pictures, etc. Contractor Foreman does exactly this and it gives everyone a clear schedule on where they need to be at daily. I can also schedule my service techs much more efficently now, no more double booking them! It sends notifications to our customers when we are on the way, the techs can see the history for any given customer and it generates invoices on site, this is a total game changer for us!

Contractor Foreman is pretty much a one stop shop for us. We use it daily. It has so many features which every type of employee is able to utilize for their specifc role. Personally the estimating, invoicing, projects and tracking of the specics in all of these make it easy to keep track of labor, materials, subs, ect. Even with finding "issues" its easy to get support and add input to Contractor Foreman itself, for new and upcoming edits to the site.  Highly recommened!

Cant edit estimates after sending, if a custoemr askes for something modified must create an entire new estimate even if something minor.

CF is easier to use compared to past programs I've used. It is truly intuitive and I appreciate that the developers are consistently trying to improve the program by listening to customer feedback. Customer support is top tier as I've never seen such helpful chat support before. They reply within seconds and 9/10 times provide me with the help I need. We use CF everyday which makes it an integral part of our workflow. The financial features are definitely life savers as we can see them at a glance with the graphs and charts automatically updated.

There are some restrictions when it comes to organizing stuff but it's probably from my end as an employee which has less access.

Contractor Foreman does a great job at creating a clear, functional and customizable dashboard from which to navigate all aspects of project management. I love that there are so many modules, each with a specific focus. The support & training aspect of the program has been exceptional. The live chat is always available and if my issue isn't able to be solved through the bot, I am routed to a human. Additionally, their responsiveness through email has been quick and accommodating. I love that all modules contain integrated training videos which are very helpful and easy to access. We have also had positive experiences with their 1:1 training and live webinars offered throughout the week. Although there are some issues with the software and some bugs present, they are very upfront about providing a forum for submitting bugs and suggestions to the platform. And their acknowledgment of these bugs and suggestions combined with their willingness to fix and implement them is very refreshing.

**What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?**

The deliverables could be more polished. The customization could be more intuitive. There are some simple functions, such as viewing and printing documents/estimates/forms, that could be more straightforward and apparent.

**What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contractor Foreman is helpful by having all aspects of a project covered in one place. I love being able to jump from projects to daily logs to estimates to the directory quickly and easily. it is also a huge benefit to have great functionality between desktop and mobile interfaces, so that the field crew can easily upload information that is regularly accessible to the office staff.

I love that Contractor Foreman is open to suggestions. They have an entire section dedicated to customer suggestion inquiries where I can check the status of my recommendation to see if it is requested by others. It also has comment sections for advice and feedback from other users. To date 3 of my suggestions have been implemented. 

While there have been some bugs, they have been transparent about the steps they're taking to rectify the issues. It is the most affordable program for all the features we needed and then some. 

I also like that it is integrated with Company Cam. 

I do appreciate their focus is on continuous improvement at the request of their customers.

Inconsistent knowledge from the customer service representatives. Some know exactly the issue while others can't give straight forward advice.

**What do you like best about Contractor Foreman?**

One of the best things I like about Contractor Foreman is that it’s specifically designed for construction. The system allows me to keep track of submittals and RFIs in one central location, making organization seamless. It also helps me manage change orders and track progress billing, including holdbacks—features that were crucial for my business needs.

**What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?**

The biggest pain point I have with Contractor Foreman—and honestly, with any construction software—is the ability to estimate and control costs effectively within the system. I need a way to create assemblies, like defining that a toilet installation requires materials A, B, and C and takes two hours. Then, I’d like to multiply that assembly by the number of toilets on a project for accurate estimates. Having the flexibility to assign different material types to these assemblies is also crucial. To be fair, I haven’t found any software that can fully address this, so I keep resorting back to Excel.

**What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me manage communication and files internally, all in one centralized spot, which is a huge time-saver. I also really appreciate the ability to forecast a construction schedule using the Gantt chart feature—it’s an excellent tool for planning and staying on track.

Easy to use with a lots of features that help the managment of our projects, with great customer support.

**What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?**

The lack of multi-currency. The schedule module needs to improve.

**What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most important is reduce the use of excel. We now have our schedule, change orders, subcontractors and expenes in one place.

**What do you like best about Contractor Foreman?**

Contractor Foreman offers an all-in-one solution for managing construction projects, with tools for scheduling, estimating, budgeting, time tracking, document management, and more. It also supports helpful integrations, such as QuickBooks, to streamline accounting. The mobile app ensures accessibility from anywhere, very helpful on-site. It's user-friendly interface and cost-effectiveness make it ideal for small to mid-sized contractors.

The support team is responsive and dedicated, while some bugs may not be resolved immediately, they make every effort to provide timely solutions. For teams willing to invest time in learning the system, it can significantly enhance efficiency and project organization.

Training available is a great tool to learn a bit more how to use the software.

**What do you dislike about Contractor Foreman?**

Sensitive files are visible in the Daily Logs through Associated Files after update 11/2024, they were visible before but they've fixed it, now every file attached across different features like invoices, payments, and other confidential files has become visible to all roles that have access to the Daily Logs, including those who shouldn't have access to this information. I even have a ticket since February 2024 without a solution.

Also to limit information access, we had previously hidden the Directory from Site Managers, because they were able to view details like subcontractor information and bills through the Contacts' History (now Documents), there hasn’t been a resolution so far.

The daily log feature has become a headache to navigate following the latest update. Users now need to exit one log entirely to view or check another, resulting in a significant waste of time and reduced efficiency.

The platform is easy to use, but occasional bugs, updates and a steep learning curve for advanced features may require patience.

**What problems is Contractor Foreman solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time Management! and with templates, cost codes and other features, we've increased efficiency, cost savings, improved team coordination and more.

We have had an outstanding experience with Contractor Foreman. The ease of having all of your projects at your fingertips is outstanding. We love that our clients can stay up to date with all aspects of the job by reviewing reports, RFIs, and viewing pictures. It is great that all staff, from the GC to the Superintendent, can contribute, and they can do so every day with easy implementation and integration.

The training that has been included in our package has been great.  The one on one trainings are really helpful in getting us started in the right direction. We are looking forward to using this to get rid of our scheduling program and to really track down our job costs. Customer support has been very responsive.

It is a lot of information to learn at one time.  It would be helpful if CF would have a specialized class on each of the modules rather than us using one on one trainings which are limited.
