**What do you like best about Slack?**

What I like about recent improvements in Slack is how much more intelligent and organized it has become with AI features. Slack AI helps quickly summarize long conversations, catch up on missed threads, and surface key decisions without scrolling endlessly.

I also appreciate the improved workflow automation through Workflow Builder, which reduces repetitive tasks, and the stronger integration ecosystem that connects tools like Google Drive, Salesforce, and Zoom more seamlessly. These updates make team communication faster, more searchable, and far less noisy, especially in large channels.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

A few honest areas where Slack could still improve:

One big opportunity is reducing information overload. Even with AI summaries and filters, large workspaces still get noisy quickly, and important decisions can get buried in long threads or active channels. Better default “signal over noise” prioritization would help.

Another area is consistency and reliability in advanced features like huddles, file handling, and integrations. Some teams still report occasional glitches or workflow friction when switching between tools or using heavier features at scale.

Slack’s growing AI layer is powerful, but it could improve in transparency and control—for example, clearer visibility into what Slack AI is summarizing or prioritizing, and more granular user control over AI-generated insights.

Finally, there’s room to improve work tracking inside conversations. Messages often turn into informal task systems, and without structure, accountability can get lost unless teams deliberately use Lists or external tools.

Overall, Slack is strong as a communication hub, but the next step is making it feel less like a stream of messages and more like a truly structured workspace

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Slack, I was able to communicate effectively with my teammates. Whenever I have a question, I can simply search for a specific word in the channel, and if someone has asked it before, I can easily find the answer in the chat history. I recall a time when a provider asked me whether a certain type of service was covered. I tried reaching out to my supervisor but didn’t get a response, so I used the search box in the relevant channel. I quickly found the information I needed and was able to give the provider an accurate answer. Some of my colleagues had already asked that same question in our channel. Slack really helps me deliver better service and satisfaction to my callers.

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Slack is a highly collaborative platform that has become central to how our team works together. It is easy to use, with an intuitive interface that requires very little onboarding. Since adopting Slack, our productivity has noticeably increased because conversations are organized into channels and threads, keeping discussions focused. Communication is effortless, and I especially appreciate how easy it is to exchange visual information alongside text - sharing screenshots, images, and files happens seamlessly. The huddle and call features are excellent for jumping into quick voice or video conversations without scheduling a meeting elsewhere.

Honestly there is very little to dislike. If anything, notifications can sometimes get overwhelming across many active channels, and the free plan's message history limit can feel restrictive for smaller teams. But these are minor compared to the overall value Slack provides.

Slack solves the problem of scattered communication that used to be spread across emails, chat apps, and meetings. By centralizing conversations into organized channels, our team collaborates more effectively and stays aligned on projects. It has improved our productivity because information is searchable and decisions are documented in one place. The ability to easily exchange visual information like screenshots, designs, and files alongside text means feedback loops are faster. Quick calls and huddles eliminate the need to schedule formal meetings for short discussions, saving time and keeping work moving.

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Slack helps an entire project communicate easily through channels. Cross-functional teams can collaborate smoothly, and an organization’s employee profiles are accessible within a workspace. Bots can also be set up to automate reminders and updates. It’s also helpful for quickly looping in colleagues when there are problems with impact. The Huddle feature for calling colleagues is crisp, and I haven’t had any issues with it so far. Overall, it’s great for seamless communication and for getting in touch with SMEs, POCs, and even leadership. The main downside is that too many channels can start to feel messy and harder to manage.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

Too many channels can get messy, a strong Wi-Fi is recommended while huddling, can lead to audio delays and screen share issues, hard to find an exact conversation when you need to.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy access to anyone within your organization, especially since organizations nowadays encourage colleague to be online on slack at all times during shift hours. Slack status helps us know when someone is unavailable instead of directly contacting them.

What I like best about Slack is how it keeps team communication organized and fast. **What do you like best about Slack?**

What I like best about Slack is how easy it makes day-to-day communication within the team. We use different channels for projects, QA discussions, release updates, and automation notifications, which keeps conversations organized instead of mixing everything in emails. Sharing screenshots, documents, and quick updates is very smooth, and the search feature also helps find recent discussions quickly.

One feature that has been especially useful for us is Incoming Webhooks. We integrated our Selenium automation framework with Slack, so after every automation execution, the test summary is posted directly into a dedicated Slack channel. Previously, we used to send automation reports through Email, but Slack made the process much faster and easier for the team to track in real time.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

One limitation I noticed in Slack is the restricted chat history in the free version. Sometimes we need to refer to discussions or shared files from older projects, but older conversations are not always available. Apart from that, the overall experience has been very smooth for daily collaboration and communication.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack helps solve the problem of scattered communication and delayed updates within the team. Earlier, most communication and automation results were shared through emails, which made tracking conversations and updates difficult. With Slack, project discussions, bug clarifications, screenshots, files, and automation notifications are all available in one place.

For example, our Selenium automation framework sends execution results directly to a Slack channel using Incoming Webhooks. This allows the QA team and developers to immediately see passed or failed executions without waiting for emails. It has improved visibility, reduced communication delays, and made collaboration much more efficient during daily work.

I like Slack because it keeps team communication organized and easy to follow. The channel system helps separate topics, so conversations don’t get mixed up. It reduces the need for long email threads.

The search feature makes it easy to find past messages, files, or links without wasting time.

Finally, the integration support. I can integrate with tools like Google Drive, Zoom, and project management platforms. So, I don't have to switch between multiple apps during work.

Slack can sometimes feel overwhelming when I need to stay active across many channels and group conversations at the same time. A large number of notifications quickly flood the dashboard, which can become distracting during busy workdays. In fast-moving teams, important messages may also get buried under ongoing discussions, making them easy to miss.

In those situations, the search feature becomes very important. While it is generally helpful for finding older messages, shared files, or specific conversations, the experience is not always as smooth as I would like, especially in large workspaces with a long message history.

Instead of managing long email threads or using random chat apps, everything stays in one place and is neatly organized through channels. Since conversations are maintained in threads, they also work as a form of documentation. This makes it much easier for me to show accountability to senior officials.

For me, it saves a lot of time and reduces confusion. Besides, I can quickly find updates, share files, and coordinate with team members without going through long email chains. It also improves collaboration because everyone stays aligned in real time.

I especially like how you can interact with business processes directly from Slack, automate tasks, and stay connected with your team without constantly switching between platforms. I really appreciate how straightforward the app is and how clean the UI looks, and it has performed consistently well for me. The theme customization options are genuinely useful, and the chat summarization feature saves me time by cutting down on how much I need to scroll back and reread earlier messages. Huddles are another great feature, and they’ve been a helpful addition to the overall experience. Integrations are solid as well, including Jira, Calendar, and others.

It automatically switches to quiet mode and pauses notifications for all messages, which really shouldn’t be enabled by default. Also, Huddles should allow remote control of the machine that’s sharing its screen.

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I like that it is the corporate version of Discord, in a UI/UX sense, and includes all the features someone in an office would use, just like someone gaming or chatting would in Discord. Such features include marking people as VIP, muting certain threads, and the ability to add code snippets, which is particularly useful.

It has good integration with GitHub, but its behaviour is a bit inconsistent, because one of my colleagues wasn't able to get the embed to show, and he was sure he hadn't disabled it when prompted initially, and we couldn't figure out how to enable GitHub embeds for him like they were on for me. JFYI, he had his GitHub connected to Slack.

I can imagine Slack lacking some performance on low-end devices, but that's an issue with all the browser-based applications (Electron), so I can't totally blame them.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

If there were a solution for the lags and delays during screen share with a lot of people on call, it would be good. Another thing is also the huddle control bar that appears when in a huddle, and the sharing screen becomes a blank bar on Mac OS sometimes (rarely, but observed by my senior colleague and me too).

Also, there should be an easier way to just silence or completely remove some Apps/Integrations on a personal user level, as they can get pretty annoying, and muting doesn't work. e.g., Birthday Bot with the "I'd like to remind you about some important events" message now and then.

Slack is solving the communication gap between corporate employees and removing the complexity of apps like MS Teams, making it just super simple to connect with teams, make groups, make quick calls or proper meetings, and has the tools to conduct all of this smoothly for any medium-sized remote environment.

**What do you like best about Slack?**

The thing I like most about Slack is how well it organizes conversations, whether by team, topic, or project. The Teams feature in Slack has helped me replace long email threads with a simple channel message, which keeps everything easier to follow.
Another fun part I discovered is that we can upload custom images or GIFs and turn them into reaction emojis, so it’s easy to react to messages in a more personal way.
Slackbot is one of the AI features of slack which has the ability to draft email , schedule meetings etc.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

The main thing I dislike about Slack is its pricing. The free plan offers limited features, such as only 90 days of message history. For small businesses, it can be difficult to justify the cost.

For me, waiting on email replies slows projects down and creates unnecessary delays. Slack helps solve this with instant messaging, quick polls, and reactions, which make it easier to get feedback and move approvals along faster.
Automatic notifications for commits, pull requests, and build failures are now posted directly to the #dev channels through integrations.

**What do you like best about Slack?**

The user interface is very intuitive, and it’s probably the easiest team chat app to use. The integrations with external services are genuinely helpful, and the ecosystem feels mature enough that you can find pretty much everything you need.

Most of the issues I’ve run into are with the macOS native app. It’s quite slow and not very reliable: I often have to restart it, and sometimes thread replies don’t show up at all. Because of that, I mostly stick to the web version, which works much better for me.

Another downside is the pricing. It gets very expensive if you have a big team.

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Slack creates a single source of turth of communication acorss teams both internal and external teams. While it doesnt have all the tools you will need in your tech stack it typically will have a connector to that tool such as google drive, outlook, dropbox, troll, etc.... It is fairly intutitve tool and can be customized to fit your needs. I find it to be very responsive and easy to use. The cost of it i nominal when you consider the streamlined benefits of clear communication. The only difficuly I would say is that when you are handling extremely large teams the messaging and the notifications can feel a bit overwhelming at times. The ai tool, espeically the summaratization tool is brilliant and saves you hours of recap. Lastly the support while mostly auto pilot is easy to access and intutitve to handle.

I personally wish that slack had it's ony project management features and more kanban style moood boards this would replace many other tools i have to patquilt in my tech stack and give me a more seemless working experience.

**What do you like best about Slack?**

Slack has been a very important tool in my freelancing journey. It helps me stay connected with clients professionally and keeps communication organized. The private channels feature is one of the best parts because I can create separate workspaces for each client, making project discussions, file sharing, and updates easy to manage.

The UI/UX is clean, modern, and very beginner-friendly. Everything is easy to navigate, from messaging and notifications to file uploads and team collaboration. Even clients who are not very tech-savvy can use it comfortably.

Slack also offers excellent integrations with tools like Google Drive, Zoom, Trello, and Dropbox, which improves productivity and saves time during project management. Having everything connected in one platform makes freelancing work much smoother.

In terms of performance, Slack runs reliably and delivers messages instantly without major issues. The desktop and mobile apps both work well, allowing me to communicate with clients from anywhere.

The pricing is affordable and provides great value for freelancers and small teams. Even the free version includes many useful features, while the paid plans are reasonably priced for the productivity benefits they offer.

The onboarding experience is simple, and setting up channels or inviting clients takes only a few minutes. Customer support resources and help articles are also easy to access whenever needed.

I don’t have many complaints about Slack because overall it has been very useful for my freelancing work. However, sometimes I notice a small glitch in the web version where a chat section gets stuck in an infinite loading loop. It usually fixes itself after refreshing the page, but it can interrupt workflow occasionally. Other than that, my experience with Slack has been very positive.

Slack has been great for our company. The biggest benefit has been how easy it makes communication between departments and across 4 different locations. We use different channels to share schedules, deliveries, launches, and product changes, and it also gives staff a simple place to ask questions. We also rely on private messaging, which feels more informal and quicker than email.

We’ve been on the free plan for roughly two years now. I can see there are plenty of perks with the paid offerings, but we haven’t needed them yet; still, they seem like they’d be a strong fit for a growing business. Over the years we’ve had zero issues, and adding or disabling staff has been a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

One drawback for me, as the account “owner,” is that I can’t see all channels to understand how many have been created, who is creating them, and whether there’s any overlap. I believe that kind of visibility may be included as a perk on the paid plan. In my opinion, the pricing structure starts quite high, so we can’t justify the cost right now, even though I’m sure there are many integrations and other pros with the paid plans. One other big thing I wish Slack had is autocorrect and grammar support.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication. It gives us a simple, central place to communicate call-outs, team projects, schedules, and live updates for certain departments. Most of our staff have downloaded the app on their phones, so everyone can access it easily.

I really enjoy how convenient Slack is, since it lets me quickly get to the pages I need to communicate with specific people. I especially appreciate the channels feature because I can separate projects by name and easily stay in touch with everyone involved. I also like getting notified when I have a message so I can make sure I follow up promptly. The huddle functionality is also very helpful for holding meetings right from the platform, simply by pressing the headphone button. Then you could invite whoever you want and talk about any conversations that need to be elaborated on or have impromptu meetings. I also really enjoy the catch up button because it allows me to catch up on things that I might have missed very quickly. I also like that I could separate out different workplaces. For example, I have an HR workplace for my HR people and I have a management workplace for all of the managers. It makes it very convenient and then you can even create channels within these workplaces that make it even easier to keep track of separate projects.

Sometimes it's hard to find previous information when you're looking for something. It can be hard to sort through all the channels and all the conversations to find what you want. The search function works okay, but I think that it should have enhanced features in order to find specifics like, if you're looking for something that's been mentioned many times in different areas, some way to narrow that down.

Slack lets me communicate with many people at once using video and different channels. It helps me share and receive information efficiently. I can talk to so many people at one time. I can make different channels, as per the working responsibilities, and can also make reminders for my own work. Slack also includes options where I can link this app with different apps, so it is more flexible and easier to use. It performs well even if there are loads of messages and never lags, though I have never used any AI on slack, so cannot say much about it, but the best is it gives a lot of features with the pricing they have. While onboarding new employees it is easy to add them in the ongoing channels. AI or intelligence on Slack isnt much used by me but I think if we can link ChatGPT with slack or any other AI it would be good.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

There isnt much that I dislike about Slack, but I think it should have any good AI or intelligence that can help us with any grammar mistakes while sending the messages. Also I think there should be some buffer time before sending the message so we can cancel in between in case we have send wrong message. I also think slack should provide us the ability to see the profile pic in large rather than small ones for the accounts on SLACK.

We wouldn’t use any other tool for internal messaging. As an admin, I’ve found the integrations with the rest of our stack to be solid, pretty much everything we use plugs into it in one way or another. Search is decent as well, especially when you actually need to dig something up. Huddles have also been a nice addition.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

The admin side could be a lot better, and the pricing structure is also a bit annoying. The plans feel like they’re designed to push you into the next tier whether you actually need it or not, and the per-user cost adds up quickly.

I tried their AI features a while back and they were pretty rough. I’m not sure if they’ve improved since then, but at the time it didn’t give us any reason to stick with it.

**What do you like best about Slack?**

What I like most about Slack is the organization by channels, which allows conversations to be separated by topics and prevents everything from being mixed up, as happens in other applications. I also like the threads, as they help maintain the flow of the channel when someone wants to comment on something specific. We use huddles quite a bit for quick calls within Slack itself, without needing to set up a separate meeting. Additionally, the number of integrations with other tools makes Slack the center of many of our daily activities: the integrations with Google Calendar and GitHub, for example, work very well and are especially valuable to us.

Regarding the price, the plan we have seems reasonable for what it offers, although the jump between the free and paid plans is quite noticeable, especially due to the message history limit in the free version. For a small team, once you decide to stay, it is worth paying to have full searches and all available features.

The onboarding was very self-service. Creating the workspace and starting to invite the team is done in minutes, and the app itself guides you a bit at the beginning to set up the basics. Anyone on the team, even if they are not very technical, can start using it on the first day without major problems.

In terms of AI, the most recent features (automatic summaries of long threads, improved search) are especially helpful when you return from a few days away and need to catch up without having to read hundreds of messages. It's not the reason we use Slack, but it's a useful complement that has been maturing.

The truth is that notifications are sometimes a mess. Configuring them properly by channel, by schedule, by message type... you end up having too many or too few and it's hard to find the balance. The desktop app sometimes consumes a lot of resources and it really shows on the laptop's battery, especially if you have several workspaces open at the same time.

Another thing that doesn't convince me is the limit of the free plan on message history: there are times when you need to search for something from months ago and you can't see it unless you're on a paid plan, which practically forces you to jump to a higher plan sooner than expected if you want to have a real memory of the workspace.

Also, when you've been in the same workspace for a while, channels that are no longer used accumulate and cleaning that up is a bit tedious. Similarly, managing permissions and settings at the workspace level in somewhat larger teams becomes less intuitive than it should be.

Finally, although integrations are one of the strong points, configuring some requires somewhat convoluted steps or technical knowledge that not everyone on the team has, so in the end, it ends up being one person who is responsible for maintaining them.

Slack mainly solves three problems for us that used to take up our time and cause us to lose information:

The first is the dispersion of communication. Before, we had team topics spread across WhatsApp, email, and meetings, and there was always information that got lost or had to be repeated several times. With Slack, everything is in one place, organized by channels according to the topic, and you can search for it later if you need to retrieve something. This has saved us a lot of time on a daily basis and, above all, has reduced the typical misunderstandings of "I thought we had agreed on X."

The second is the feeling of isolation when working distributed. We are a small agency that doesn't share a physical office, and before we noticed that we lacked that sense of closeness you get when you meet at a table. With Slack, thanks to threads, emojis, and reactions, there is a more fluid and almost real-time conversation that recovers part of that team atmosphere. The huddles also help to have quick calls without the friction of scheduling a formal meeting every time someone needs to explain something.

The third is centralizing tools. Integrations with Google Calendar, GitHub, and other tools make Slack the place where much of the work converges, instead of having to open five different tabs to find out what's going on. This, multiplied by the entire team, results in significant time savings lost in context switching.

The overall benefit is quite clear: more organized communication, less lost information, and a distributed team that feels more connected on a daily basis. **What do you like best about Slack?**

It tracks back all the previous chat before that we have making it a good reference (we do consults at work). It is so convenient that I can use the search bar and show related keywords and topics for it. Not only that, it also support AI definitions or descriptions that can be find in the internet. I know it's easy to open a new tab but it does work for me incases where I need quick answer.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

It may have been only for my organisation and the admin limiting it (because I use slack before in different projects), we have a limit of 6months history for all the messages that we sent to ourselves, either with the group or direct messages to the teammates. It's abit a hassle to take screenshots and all.
So far, I think it's still effective.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a person who works with a team, this helps us centralised all the communications. It shows exactly what happened especially for crucial cases. We are able to pinpoint what happened and records the time too. Also, you can call other users real time for urgent matter. I mean, working virtually with a team and using only Slack as a tool for communication really helped us alot.

**What do you like best about Slack?**

I like Slack's thread feature the most. It allows me to discuss specific points within a group conversation without cluttering the main chat. This makes communication more streamlined and organized. Instead of searching through entire conversations, I can easily locate what I need within threads. Additionally, the initial setup of Slack was very straightforward, with every single step being easy to follow.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

I face problems with Slack, especially when using it on my laptop. New messages occasionally appear with a delay, and I often have to force reload to see them. Moreover, Slack requires higher internet speeds compared to other applications, which I find inconvenient. During calls, there's also an issue where the voice comes with a delay, and it demands a robust internet connection for optimal performance. I believe these aspects need improvement to enhance user experience.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack organizes discussions through threads, making it easier to find and focus on specific topics without searching through entire conversations.

**What do you like best about Slack?**

As a CEO, what I appreciate most about Slack is how it keeps everything organized without slowing the team down. Conversations stay clear and easy to search, and they don’t get buried the way they often do in email. I can quickly review updates from different departments, jump into discussions when needed, and still keep my attention on bigger decisions. Overall, it strengthens communication across the team, especially when you’re managing multiple projects at the same time.

**What do you dislike about Slack?**

One thing I don’t like is that it can get a bit overwhelming when there are too many channels and constant notifications. Sometimes important messages get buried, especially in active teams. Also, if not managed properly, it can become a distraction rather than helping productivity. A bit more control over noise and better prioritization of messages would make it even better.

**What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slack solves the problem of scattered communication. Earlier, we had emails, calls, and different tools, which made it hard to keep track of conversations. With Slack, everything is in one place -team discussions, project updates, quick decisions.

For me, it saves a lot of time. I can quickly get clarity on what’s happening in the team without long meetings or email threads. It also keeps everyone aligned, especially when managing multiple projects and remote team members. Overall, it makes communication faster, more transparent, and easier to manage.
