What do you like best about Similarweb?
Similarweb has been very helpful for me, especially thanks to our account manager, who is extremely supportive and takes the time to help us understand and get the most out of the product. I use it mainly for keyword analysis for SEO, as well as website and market analysis to track competitor positions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Similarweb?
However, I’ve noticed some discrepancies in the traffic data when I compare it to Google Analytics, which makes me question its accuracy at times. That said, it’s still a very powerful tool for understanding market trends and competitive insights.
I've been using SimilarWeb's AEO tool for several months, primarily for keyword tracking and content creation for our insurance comparison website in Greece. While the concept is promising, the execution falls short for markets outside major English-speaking countries.
The Core Issue: The tool requires a minimum search volume threshold to generate content, which is a significant limitation when working with Greek keywords or niche topics. I attempted to create articles for several relevant keywords like "Αφαίρεση διπλώματος" (driving license withdrawal) and "Ασφάλεια κτίριου με δάνειο" (building insurance with loan) - topics that are absolutely relevant to my audience and business needs. In every case, the tool failed to generate content due to "insufficient search volume."
What This Means: If you're working in non-English markets, especially smaller languages like Greek, or if you need to create content for long-tail, lower-volume keywords that are still business-critical, this tool likely won't serve your needs. The volume threshold seems calibrated for high-traffic English keywords, making it impractical for Regional/local market SEO, Niche insurance or specialized topics, Non-major language markets, Long-tail keyword strategies.
What Needs Improvement:
1. Language Support: Better support for Greek and other non-English languages with realistic volume expectations
2. Volume Flexibility: Allow content generation regardless of search volume - low volume doesn't mean low business value
3. Manual Override: Give users the option to generate content even when volume is below threshold Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
