Prophix has become a staple at our organization. The ease of use and the support we receive has been stellar. We previously did not have a reporting or budgeting tool other than excel which resulted in much human error. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our implementation was tough, but we got through it and I feel like we are past that. We would suggest using a consultant to anyone looking to implement. What I appreciate most about Prophix is the excellent support and the strong customer relationship. The team is highly responsive, and it genuinely feels like they listen to customers and take feedback seriously. It is actually difficult for me to point out what is least helpful, because overall I’m very happy with Prophix. If I had to mention one area, I would say that some of the more advanced functionality can take a little time to learn and fully utilize. I like how organized Prophix Software is. Once we were set up, I could easily tweak existing templates and reports to meet new needs. I like that it works a lot like Excel and Access, so it’s easy to use and navigate, even for people who aren’t inclined to learn new systems. The DPM for our funded roster has been a big win: I can manage and share the information easily, and people recognize the data as accurate and consistent. I also like the workflows for getting information to people who don’t have active Prophix licenses, and the consistent reporting budget managers receive each month. Prophix has streamlined our budgeting, projections, and reporting, and saves time, energy, and resources compared with our Excel- and Google Sheets-based processes. Our implementation wasn’t easy and is still causing issues. The in-house Prophix implementation team didn’t seem to understand our needs or care to adjust their process to them. A secondary revenue cube was set up poorly and is almost impossible to rebuild because it’s used so often. If things aren’t set up correctly from the beginning, it can be hard to overcome later. I really enjoy how user-friendly the system is. Onboarding new users is faster than some other software I've used in the past because of how intuitive the interface is. The financial reporting, planning and budgeting tools are what drew us to the software and Prophix offers a complete, comprehensive suite of tools for all of these needs. I've only had very positive experiences with customer support and the staff seems to be extremely friendly. My department uses this tool daily and it has been a success story with our organization. I would like to see more of a focus on financial projections and predictive budgeting. Prophix has some tools capable of this but none have been able to replace our Excel models just yet. Prophix is very easy to use (both for those that work in finance and outside of finance), the company offers great customer support and is always available when we have issues, and we are excited that Prophix is continuing to invest in additional features (such as AI). I think the dashboards could use some improvement (we do most of our graphs in Excel due to the limitations in Prophix), some reports are not very usable right when they are downloaded and require manipulation in Excel, and it would be great if we were able to access invoices/other support directly in Prophix rather than having to go outside of the tool. I find Prophix Software incredibly easy to use. We really like the drill-down feature since it allows us to get to the root cause for why expense codes are higher or lower than expected compared to the budget. The ability to flex budget and look at actual results versus the budget at any given moment is quite valuable. The dashboard is also beneficial as it showcases our key critical KPIs on each user's screen based on their needs. Additionally, the initial setup and implementation were very easy, thanks to the knowledgeable and helpful implementation team, who were great at explaining things to users of all levels in a flexible and understanding way. One thing that has frustrated some of the users is on the Prophix training. The training is designed for basic users, and most of our users have some experience with Microsoft Power BI. They understand some of the characteristics of cubes and layers, so those sections of the training don't really hold their attention. However, you still have to go through it to complete your certification. A way to bypass some segments based on expertise or maybe a test could be beneficial for other users. I like Prophix Software for its overall product functionality and excellent support team. The software has good security and workflows built in, which allow us to grant access to multiple users while ensuring they only access what they need. This is complemented by the workflow features that automate deliverables, reducing the need for manually sending out emails. Its ability to speed up our monthly close, make forecasting less error-prone, and cut down our WIP process from a week to just a day or two is really valuable.
