Strong Reporting Capabilities, Might not be great for large complex orgs. **Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2024 **What do you like best about Prophix Software?** Prophix does a really good job at allowing for dynamic reporting from the cube. You can slice and dice the data in any way you need to see it, and the user interface is very clean, modern, and easy to use. I also really enjoy the support that comes with the Continuous Success Package (CSP). I feel that I can reach out at any time and I will have a knowledgeable consultant to answer my questions. It keeps up with our daily use for 10 active users and rarely do we run into functionality issues with servers going down or anything like that. **What do you dislike about Prophix Software?** A downside that I have with using Prophix is that the reporting can take a while to load if you have many different unique member combinations. We have to limit the filters in certain reports or create duplicate reports with slightly different filters to get to certain reports if we don't want to wait 10 minutes for a report to load. My other complaint is that the integration with O365 isn't very intuitive in Excel (getvalue formulas rather than being able to click and connect like some other products) and there is not a streamlined powerpoint integration that doesn't show the full web-interface within the PowerPoint deck (which causes deck building to take many hours each month rather than a simple click and refresh). **What problems is Prophix Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** Prophix is solving the need to create manual excel reports and rather lets you automate those by building them in Prophix and being able to pull those on a Monthly basis. It is also allowing us to run an allocation process to push enterprise cost from a select number of departments to a bunch of geographix areas. We had a long complicated excel process that was doing this originally, but we were able to build it in Prophix and make it much more dynamic. We can create many different slices of reporting that fits our management and board level needs. ### 2. The ability to move our budget process from excel documents to Prophix has reduced errors, shortened the timeline and increased transparency in our budgets. The ad hoc reporting has become much more dynamic and **What do you dislike about Prophix Software?** There is very limited excel functionality, and there is also no ability to view actual expenses in comparison to the line item detail level that they are budgeted on. This makes it a lot harder and time consuming to analyze variances. **Recommendations to others considering Prophix Software:** Ask specific questions about excel functionality, ability to print from the program and ability to view expense/budget details in the same location. **What problems is Prophix Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were using excel in SharePoint before Prophix for budgeting and forecasting, so we saved on time, sanity, and put more responsibility on budget owners. It is better than a ton of spreadsheets. I love setting up tasks to be pushed out. **What do you dislike about Prophix Software?** The limitations of if I want to see the total of financials in a department forecast/budget then the option of Line Item details goes away unless I select Unspecified. inconsistency in how to do the same functions. To submit is in a different location on template vs dpm is one example. If I am designing a template, formatting or options are accessed different if I am doing an Ad Hoc or a Dataview. There is too much flipping between tabs to compare. It seem like there isn't a "one-stop-shop" to see what is needed. Setting up a report to pull that is a lot! You can have more than one Ad-Hoc open at a time **What problems is Prophix Software solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am the primary analyst for IT financials. We have been using Prophix for 2 years of budgeting. I just rolled out forecasting last month. It is great to gather forecasted financials, but the steps and details aligning with actuals is a huge road block for myself and users. A big challenge is seeing there total forecasted amount while being able to update the financials at the same time. You can't do this when project and product are on Total (not that I know of). ### 7.
