I like the ability to do custom reports in Prophix Software, which is especially convenient for ad hoc report requests from our operating companies. It allows us to switch versions, time, and layout quickly. The workflows are useful for reminding people to enter data. Prophix saves us time on report creation, as it's faster and more reliable than using Excel, where there's always a concern about formulas or errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Prophix Software? Although the workflows are great, we've had issues with users not getting email notifications (which they said they fixed last year), with the opposite now, of users getting multiple duplicate emails. Permissions are easy to configure, which allows us to maintain strong controls while still enabling users to build and share their own reports. This reduces bottlenecks with the finance team and encourages self-service reporting. The platform is also very stable—reports roll forward cleanly from year to year without breaking, which saves significant time during budgeting, forecasting, and reporting cycles. Prophix solves the challenge of consolidating and analyzing complex, multi-entity financial data in a timely and consistent way. It enables us to consolidate results in near real time across hundreds of databases and legal entities, including multi-currency operations. We can budget in a static currency while analyzing actuals versus budget in constant currency, which removes FX noise and gives us a true view of underlying performance. Prophix also allows us to slice and analyze the business across multiple dimensions—geography, business unit, function, and legal entity—without rebuilding reports. I like the reporting structure and how easy it is to run reports across the system. It also integrated nicely with our accounting software which is very helpful. Ability to set up your company structure (legal entities, sectors, etc.) in a way that makes the consolidation process pain-free and automated each month. We have been able to schedule recurring appointments to track and manage our problems over time. We have been given numerous resources to help make the best decisions when it comes to building a cube, creating groups, building a new template, etc. This software has been a great addition to our month end closing process and helps us cut down on closing times. Initially when utilizing Prophix Software, understanding how the software works and implementing our data can be challenging. One problem that we have run into with our processes is bringing in new data from another platform that we use to track our financials and transactions. Differences in integration can make the ease of using this software harder than it has to be. Some of the formulas that work to pull this data together can be challenging to resolve at times. The flexibility of the software is great. You have the ability to build the system in a way that is flexible to your business needs. The models can be as granular or high-level as you want. While the flexibility is great, my experience has been that it requires quite a bit of technical/consultancy time to get the integration setup and maintain the software due to the complexity of the implementation. We are in the process of implementing Prophix for sales budgeting and sales forecasting. The software allows for you to build a robust process for maintaining the forecasts and budgets, and then save them for future comparability to actual data (or alternative forecasts and reforecasts).
