"Great tool for a growing startup"
What do you like best about OpenComp?

I'm able to control the benchmarking based on our total funds raised & funding stage in addition to our geographic location by comparing our comp to actual market data (and not a bunch of algorithmically calculated info that's based on the bay area).

Market data is adjusted quarterly, so I feel confident knowing the information is aligned to true conditions, actual current payroll data, and real inputs from companies like mine.

Its a great price-to-value as well for early stage startups! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenComp?

I wish there were more comprehensive jobs to benchmark against - knowing there is some variance in job functions, there should be a more established list for SaaS companies. The team DOES do a great job though of helping when there is a job missing or to confirm/clarify which job to use as a direct benchmark. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Natalie Persico of OpenComp

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with OpenComp! We understand the importance of comprehensive job benchmarking and will continue to work on expanding our database for SaaS companies.

"Not worth it - job data accuracy and search limitations need improvement"
What do you like best about OpenComp?

It gives data insight for the ranges and you can search for different jobs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenComp?

1. Some of our most common jobs were either not in open comp at all or the data was totally different compared to actual postings we found online, so it was definitely not accurate and we had no idea where they were pulling from

2. there was a lot of overlap for titles/descriptions and so we pulled from sometimes 6 different data points and had to try and figure out what was most accurate for our positions. In some cases there were two different job titles with the EXACT same description, but the pay range was totally different.

3. You cannot search by job description, only title. For stuff like IT we found that we had to search for IT, information security, Help desk, and more, because job descriptions that aligned with our title were all titled a bunch of different ways. For us to get accurate data we just kept searching different titles. We might as well have done the same thing on Indeed.

4. For the price, it didn't really help our process all that much and was definitely not worth it.

5. The fact that a few jobs also did not match what we find in the market and were vastly different made it hard to trust any of the data at all, so we ended up cross checking with our own research anyway.

-- overall - waste of money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
