"Microsoft SQL - Excellent DB Platform"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I think one of the best things about Microsoft SQL (currently using 2012) is the Developer Network and helpful resources that are available. Thanks to the developer network, I’ve been able to learn much more about querying and build more useful and advanced queries over time. Things such as Transact-SQL (T-SQL) come in handy a lot of the time due to the vast amount of new queries you can build after learning T-SQL. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I dislike that sometimes the developer network resources can be much more complex than I anticipated. Sometimes you just need a simple answer and not a lecture on every argument that can be used. I would also say that understanding certain failures or issues with SQL could by better documented by Microsoft instead of other community forums i.e. Stack Overflow. It would be nice if Microsoft had an error mapping for each SQL error and what the resolution for it might be. As far as I know, the easiest way to troubleshoot a query on runtime is to paste a portion of the error in to a search engine and then start going through the form pages. Usually within the first several web links, someone will have found a resolution that works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
