"The gold standard of TSQL"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Extremely easy to use, performs in every way that you'd expect. Using Azure is much better integration, but it can be done through AWS and IBM Cloud as well. The Azure version charges very little, something like $20/month, which makes it much more useful in terms of integrating with cloud, but if you want to use it by itself it's still relatively expensive due to licensing fee. I use to be a C# programmer, the microsoft stack generally works extremely well and stable, especially building products that's enterprise or medium size business focused. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Cost too much comparing to competitor products, esp. MySQL. Also, the SQL Server doesn't integrate well with other platform like LAMP or node.js. I'd prefer more support libraries being focused on those so it can be as easy to use as C#. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful relational database"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

The widespread universality of the language makes this my go-to when implementing a database backbone to software. Not only does it work efficiently, integrate with Windows domain structure, but it also plays well with other software to help lay-users create their own reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

While backup options are workable, it doesn't seem quite as efficient as other database solutions. In addition its widespread use makes it an easy target for third party backup solutions to target and charge extra for the feature of backing it up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Versatile Database"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

SQL Server packs a lot of features for the price. Microsoft has been very forward thinking lately with the newest features going well beyond a traditional RDBMS, with Big Data Clusters and Graph database features in addition to what has already been included in the past. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I would say there isn't a lot to dislike. Some might say Oracle still has some features that SQL Server doesn't have, however, I haven't seen anything where you couldn't find something comparable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
