Review Summary

Generated using AI from real user reviews

"Powerful database with a really good and intuitive editor. "
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Creation, administration and management of the database is really easy, even for beginners. It is fast and stable and it works good with other Microsoft products. I feel right at home when I'm using SQL Server Management Studio. It has a practical UI and of course a really helpful intellisense feature. The problems which my team and I solve require fast response and fast solutions and Microsoft SQL is of great help with that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The price of the enterprise package might be too high for smaller companies, but I think that Microsoft's target with this product are large organizations/corporations (like mine). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Industry standard for databases"

Performance: developers and administrators have the ability to adjust their performance to meet application requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Required resources: both system resources and other considerations for maintenance and in-house support can be heavier compared to other solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A complete solution for all you database needs."
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

One of the key feature of Microsoft SQL Server is its installation which is very straight Forward nothing fancy which makes the developer or the user aware of whats this going to install and check and uncheck its feature accordingly.

Other Microsoft SQL Server which I like the most is its prices which are very competitive and cost efficient. And I can tell you this it will bring down your overall cost of operation. So choose wisely.

After all this product come directly from MS performance and security are least concerned issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

On the things which personally I don't like is its humongous size which it take during installation on disk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"MSQL : A Daily Tool"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

The user friendly design with newly added functionalities every year. SSMS is fastest and most popular dbms tool I have used. The most effective functionality for me is add database servers and see all the servers list and execute queruy in different servers at the same time. The SQL server profiler is the best tool to monitor the transactions and we can even view the connection string. Newly even SSMS supports R language integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

There is nothing much to dislike about ssms. The only thing is that the software could be more lightweight to maintain more speed. The SQL server profiler could be integrated inside ssms only to maintain user friendliness. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Microsoft SQL server Management"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

The aspect that I love the most about MS SQL server Management is the layout and setup of the databases inside the tool and also how the queries are not case sensitive unlike some other softwares. It allows you to query very large datasets within a very short response time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The one aspect that I do not enjoy about MS SQL server management is the installation process of the software. The entire installation process is very lengthy and time consuming and requires multiple restarts where is very inconvenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best SQL tool from Microsoft family "
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

MS Sql is one of the best relational databases available in the market currently. As its directly coming from Microsoft its compatible with almost all the applications developed by Microsoft. Its a breeze for .Net developers to make use of it in their applications because of its easy integration capabilities and strong encryption techniques. One would love to write queries in MS sql compared to that of MySQL or Oracle PLSQL. I sincerely recommend it to all .Net developers out there as it eases the pain for integrating another DB because its already embedded in Microsft framework stack. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Nothing as such but I would suggest Microsoft to improve MS SQL comaptibility with other operating systems as well like Linux and MAC-os. Also, Microsoft SQL doesn not support multiple storage engines as one would need a flexible storage system with growing data it would be a good to have feature. "SQL server - A robust database tool"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

To manage all of our data of various customer products, we use sql server. This is a microsoft product, so we are much satisfied with product service.

It is very reliable and easy to use tool.

We can store, process and execute very large amount of data.

Very easy to learn its programming language.

Very great features such as SQL server agent, profiler, reporting etc..

One can use for all his needs of database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Every good tool has its own limitations.

First of all its cost. It is very high.

We need good amount of RAM to properly use this. Sometimes query stucks in between. But our organization provides a great RAM, so we don't have any issue with its speed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A powerful all times standard "
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

SQL Server was the mos robust scalable database solution for big environment, and small too with the SQL Lite version. We use MySQL as well but as government institution the application growed up very quick and suddenly mysql was too small to handle all the info (20+GB databases). So we went back to ours beginnings and use SQL for internal an web applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

May be the biggest disadvantages are the price and that it runs on windows (not all sysadmins likes to run a windows server, less for web services) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
