"Great performance"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

SQL Server is a great database and what I like the most is the query analyzer. The tool analyze complex queries and give you ideas of how you can improve them to run faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The only think I can complain is that it doesn't have a friendly tool to create queries. Every query should be written manually, while other tools have ways to pull tables, make links with other tables and select the fields we want to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ease of use, Deployment and Support - MSSQL is King"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Easy configuration, installation, and support. When it comes to out of the box tools for a RDBMS, SQL Server is the gold standard. Management Studio functions as a one-stop shop for virtually everything you could need to do for a SQL server installation.

T-SQL is robust, mature, and powerful -- and integrated with the .NET Framework. The ability to take a piece of software top-down on the Microsoft stack reduces complexity, development effort, and increases maintainability.

SQL Server is the first and often best choice for all of my database needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Supporting multiple client installations requires occasionally having multiple versions of SQL Server on my single machine, and the differing client versions do not always play nicely with each other.

Installation of SQL Server can be a bit of a pain as well, when installing to a non-C: drive, depending on what other Microsoft components have been installed first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

There isn't much to dislike, honestly. The best indicator of this software's reliability is that there was never a problem with it, at least on a user level where I was. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to setup and perfect for small and mid size application backend"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Microsoft database comes with many features that gets one started quickly. It is a perfect choice when you have done the POC using Microsoft Access, and want more functions on the database ends. As your database had more users and need to support the bigger load, SQL server would be a good choice. It also had a good list of templates in the managment studio to do common tasks. Very user friendly and productive tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

It had a pretty friendly user interface, and it is a very good productivity tool. I think one of the things it should improve is using special commands to do system commands to copy and move files via the stored procedures. It is a good design, but one needs to watch out for the permissions issues it runs into. It would be great they port this application to Linux and Unix environment, as it is currently dominated by other major vendors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful tool for Database Management"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I really like the ease with which you can make schema changes, look at the data stored inside table, and use SQL to do everything. Also, SQL profiler has been so helpful in solving many issues. I SQL server everyday, and I can't imagine not using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Some options have a large learning curve, and occasionally it will lock up for no apparent reason. Otherwise, I have no problems with SQL Server. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
