"Great tool for creating Data warehouse from different data sources"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Sql Integration Services is a very easy way to migrate and transform data from many sources to SQL Server, Its easy to use drag and drop creation tool, made it quick and easy to extract and Transform our Oracle data to a data warehouse in SQL Server for our business reports. When running the SSIS code, you get an easy to follow graphical flow of what is happening and its progress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

It took a while to understand the permissions model within SSIS which caused a few headaches with development, and with our environment being Agile, SQL Integration Services does not allow for unit testing or for source control within GIT, this required us to think of a different approach to development to what we are used to. It is more of a Drag and drop development structure which makes it difficult to share and review code, as there is any any code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing program top work"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

It does what its meant too do and generally works well. the only issues are when you don't have the knowledge to back yourself up with. There is a fantastic community of people who are more than willing to help when it comes to this which just shows how great the software is. For large database querying this is the one. What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Maybe more FAQ guides built in to the software itself.

The best way to make this product better is to invest in some time and effort into making the layout nicer and more usable. It sometimes feels a little counter intuitive to the users who are getting used to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Favorite tool for DB access"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

The latest version I've used is MS SQL 2012. The performance is really good, complex queries with dozens of different joins execute quite fast. The SQL Management Studio is one of the best tools I've seen for running queries, intellisense allows to concentrate on typing the query while auto-filling a lot of code for you. Executing the SQL query plan provides very good info that can be used to optimize one's queries. Built-in reports that provide a lot of metadata info for the DB. What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Haven't found many things I don't like. There is no auto-indent (mgmt. studio) that can quickly organize the code, hope it'll get introduced in some later version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good Product"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Microsoft SQL Server provides a good graphical user interface which helps in navigation through the system and all the functionality is available on button click. Another perk of having a graphical interface is the auto fill option which fills in the details of tables with ease. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The Object explorer and query window are very confusing. I found it difficult to connect multiple databases in the system. Also, there is no way to have a indented code when when I paste large queries in the Management studio window. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sql Server"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I love the simplicity of the UI. When I am writing or searching a db I want a clean look and feel. Sql Server provides a blank space to create in. I have not used all of the advanced features (I am not on our companies DBA team, but I investigate the database very often). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Connecting to multiple databases is a little confusing with the Object Explorer vs the Query Window. There can be multiple connection in multiple places. There also seem to be instances when the auto-complete craps out. I don't understnad what would cause the auto-complete to work and not work during the same session. "Okay for a non-expert "
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

It has its uses and is straightforward once you know what you are doing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

It's not very intuitive initially. It's not something I'd normally use for work outside of this particular job's needs. Some of the formatting could be better and better illustrate information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SSIS as a Integration tool"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I like Sql Integration Services for fast integrations and data transforms. It's really easy to use and has lots of features, like the parallel processing capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The User Interface is not as polish as it could be. A little more guidance would be really nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A tool to manage any database"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I use SQL Server every day to query and update databases. It is not overloaded with unnecessary features, allowing me to quickly complete the task at hand. My favorite feature is the 'autofill' where it automatically finishes out the names of tables/columns. There is infinite information online regarding this product, so support is always only a few clicks away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The only complaint I have with Microsoft SQL is that there is no 'Beautifier', or way to clean up your SQL. When I need to do so, I always have to copy and paste into PL/SQL, clean it up, and then paste it back into SQL. I'm sure there is an extension out there but this is a feature that I wish it would come with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Awesome tool for SQL Server Databases"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

I like the ease of connecting to different databases and the user interface of the software. When I query against the database, it auto fills to the database or field names, and uses a sort of "spell check" like function to tell me if I'm missing something in my code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

I wish it didn't take so long to open up sometimes, it can take up to 2 minutes on my PC to run it. I know it's partially my fault, but this would be a nice perk to have. I also wish the software wasn't so hidden on Microsoft's website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
