Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:
If you're on Linux, I think it will be exciting when MS SQL comes as the cost of running Linux as a webserver is so much less than running Windows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a lot of issues with speed and reliability when it came to using previous "free" products like MySQL, but it required a lot of maintenance and hands on time to get running right and that's time I didn't have. We had some serious speed issues and moving to Microsoft SQL Server and being able to using a GUI to control everything made life a lot easier. We have been able to now run multiple servers using SQL Server Replication (one server is on site, pushing distribution to the production servers). This has reduced the amount of processing time it takes to serve information to both our customers and our employees, whether it be our website or our in house business management system.
