What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

There are many of features that I really like, every new version have new stuff that makes easier the management of the data, instances, backups, azure deployment, cloud integration and services, users and others, but the features that like the most are:

It's authentication system with windows or it's own

Fast Backups and Restores

Role based user management (great if you handle Active Directory too Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The menu of configuration steps when updating or upgrading from one version to other actually makes complicated the way to handle the final updates. I am just referring to its wizard, this can be simplified Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:

Please take into consideration on which OS this software works and as well the minimum requirements to have a fully db working on it.

Assigned enough space for it and better to keep and assigned drive (physical or shared) for it too.

The fact it can work along with Azure is great too, but Azure even if its a nice solution too is expensive, so please make them keep Microsoft SQL as a product that work great by itself but can be integrated with others as third party solutions for database and querying. What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?

I would say the main feature is it{s user management, because after that what matter is keep the database healthy with regular backups and maintenance plans.

Is a great and easy to use product that does not require a lot of time of training in order to keep customers and third party clients up to date with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

SSMS can do a LOT beyond simply navigating your databases and executing scripts. I'd suggest taking a few courses on SSMS and Microsoft SQL Server to anyone who commonly works on the back-end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

All the things you get with it! SSIS, SSRS, SSAS all come free! You get a free developer license for enterprise features. The SSMS environment is the best one around. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

MSSQL comes with variety of useful tools such as SQL Server Profiler, SQL Server Management Studio, BI tools and Database Tuning Advisor. All these tools are very helpful and easy to use.
