"Very powerful, well optimized"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Microsoft SQL is my first choice for my enterprise-level database needs. It's very fast, and scales well.

I've used MySQL in other projects, and while it does work very well, I find Microsoft SQL to be easier to use and manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

When performance issues do crop up, they can be tricky to work around. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Sql is versatile"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Structured Query Language allows for retrieval and organization of your data in an infinite number of ways. Every version has new functions to make data retrieval simpler. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

Like any software, there are bugs that need to work themselves out. Vague error messages, complexity in linking servers. Importing/exporting is very powerful but could be improved upon. Ie copying and pasting from an excel sheet into a sql table without having to go through all the other headaches of importing from excel/csv. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Worked with SQL server for 4 yeara"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

The rdms is pretty powerful. Don't have to worry too much about performance when lacking sargability Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

No way to automate reseed. Easy fix but you have to do it for every table manually. Also, suggested indexing for query planning is atrocious. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Works as expected with all DBMS standards"
What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?

Though there are slight differences in syntax, working with SQL Server is really more or less the same as any other DBMS. I also work with various versions of Oracle and once you get used to the different GUIs to interact with the databases, they are actually quite similar. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?

The only issue I have ever had with SQL Server is that installing it on a workstation with Visual Studio can sometimes be problematic. More than once, I have had to completely format a workstation to get the VS to coexist with SQL Server Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
