# What is the best document creation tools for legal and compliance teams?

Hi all! I’m evaluating document creation tools for legal and compliance teams in a mid-size, regulated environment. We need tight permissioning, reliable version history, strong redaction/templating, and support for retention, legal holds, and audits. Cloud-first and cost-sensible would be great.

These are the platforms I’m looking at based on G2 reviews:

Pick M365 if you’re regulated already - Purview labels/DLP/eDiscovery + SharePoint versioning and legal holds are tighter than most. Word’s Track Changes/Compare + clause templates work well, then finalize in Acrobat for true redaction/Bates.

Google Workspace is A+ for drafting speed, Vault + Drive labels are solid, but cross-matter permissioning and records governance need stricter admin hygiene vs Purview.

Bottom line: For legal/compliance, go M365 + Acrobat, use Workspace for fast collaboration if governance is covered.
