A Hostwinds guy picked up the phone on the second ring, and tackled my issue within 15 minutes. I did have to pay for the phone call.. but it was worth it for the efficiency. This company is very professional and they all know what they do. I try to contact them when I have a serious problem (it means very rarely), otherwise I cope with everything myself. "

We needed a one-page website for our company, Time Travel Records, where we could embed CDbaby, iTunes and Amazon links, etc for songs. I like 1and1's autopay feature, so that we do not have to worry about paying for the site each year."

"We've happily used GoDaddy for domain registration for years: GoDaddy Domains have an extensive amount of domain name extension offerings. On the GoDaddy website's home page, we can conveniently search for available domain name extensions just by searching one keyword. I like that we can see the prices right next to each extension offering, which helps us to figure out the best deals. For domain names that are not immediately available, we can see if they are for sale by the current owner with the possibility of placing an offer for the domain."

"I think Yahoo Small Business is still trying to figure out what they want to be: Since I came to Community Christian Church, we've had Yahoo for our web-hosting service (domain, website, and email all included in that). For most of the time, we haven't necessarily had problems. That's the good part. Yahoo email works well. I can access from my phone or desktop. We can also add email addresses for special things, and have it automatically forward to an established email address. For example, we could set up an email address specifically for our missionaries to communicate with us, and it could be sent automatically to our main office email address. It's come in handy a couple times. It also allows us to view our website usage easily, and with great detail"

"it is just a domain: It is a good business model but really they are nothing more than loan sharks with massively inflated markups. The internet is littered with stories of how huge domains squatted on names and various sharp practices, but don't take my word for it, google them and always do your own research. Think very carefully and read the reviews out there to make up your own mind."
