"Pretty sleek in organisation and creating documentation, just needs to fix the delays in syncs"
What do you like best about GitBook?

Organization: Gibook's allows me to organize and categorize my documentation very easily. The tagging and labeling allows me to easily manage this in a scalable manner and making it very easy for my users to navigate through.

Annotation/Highlighting: These features are simple and yet really helpful in documentation phase, reading, or when needed to keep track of WIP items and important things.

Search: The search functionality is intuitive. It enables me to quickly find whatever I am looking for and without having to scroll through results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

Delay in Sync and Ocassional Crash: During my usage, I had to to a hard refresh everytime when going throuigh the docs or even resulted in going through a previous version because it was not updated automatically. This became problematic when collaborating with an external 3rd party. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent user experience with stellar customer support"
What do you like best about GitBook?

What I love the most about GitBook is that it embraces open-source software culture. Aside from having an amazing free-plan, it has Git synchronization to ensure you have a secure copy of your data. They also have a great customer support team that will help you and your community get on a community plan so that you and your knowledge builders can collaborate more effectively. What do you dislike about GitBook?

The apps ecosystem built on top of Gitbook as of the moment could be improved. Improving the developer experience might be something that they can work on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy and flexible tool for handbooks, also for non-techies"
What do you like best about GitBook?

It's a very flexible tool for making a professional looking handbook for our business. Limited technical knowledge is needed to work with the software. I like how easy it is to format text, add video's and more. By using the appropriate headings, automatically a navigation menu is created, which helps the users to browse through the handbook. Lastly, it's nice that there are no restrictions in the number of handbooks, chapters, pages and subpages you want to make. And the price is very reasonable. What do you dislike about GitBook?

Honestly I haven't found any negative features that I can think of. It perhaps takes some time getting used to the 'change request / merge' way of updating documents, since this is not something I'm used to (I'm not a developer). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GitBook is perfect for Collaboration, Documentation and Organization"
What do you like best about GitBook?

GitBook is the ultimate platform for collaborating on documentation and organizing information.

GitBook provides an elegant wiki-style interface. The clean, intuitive formatting options make it easy for anyone to create professional looking documents. Tables, code blocks, images, and more can be added seamlessly. Everything stays neatly organized with nested pages and a clear sidebar navigation.

I recommend GitBook for any team that creates technical documentation or wants to foster a collaborative knowledge sharing culture. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

Updating page order can be tricky. It's easy to accidentally nest pages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Your project no longer has to be an uncrackable safe: Gitbook gives you the easiest tools to do it."
What do you like best about GitBook?

The harmony that exists between ease of use and utility. I have been using Gitbook for more than four years and, indeed, it was my own recommendation to the Founder that led us to create our docs repository with you while considering other options such as Docusaurus, NextJS, Strappi. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

I'll be honest. There is nothing bothering me on Gitbook. He has been an incredible partner for me on this new journey as a technical writer. It has provided me with all the necessary tools to make our documentation as digestible and friendly as possible. I would not change anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very swift tool for creating team documentation"
What do you like best about GitBook?

GitBook is an incredibly user-friendly tool. As an administrator, I employed it to generate team documentation, and the implementation process was remarkably straightforward. Teaching the team to use GitBook was a breeze, and its seamless integration with GitHub further enhanced our workflow. The Customer Support team was exceptionally helpful in assisting us with selecting the most suitable plan for our team. Notably, GitBook's option to share pages publicly eliminates the need to search for external hosting solutions, making it a valuable feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

The only thing missing is the option to embed videos, for those not hosted on services like YouTube. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GitBook saved the burden of document storage for us."
What do you like best about GitBook?

Gitbook is very convinient to use as a team as we all can easily access the documents, edit them, make suggestions and so on. It also has a nice interface for when we are sharing the documents outside the company for customers to see, as it looks way more professional than for instance sharing google docs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

It's a little confusing and not intuitive to use at first. At the beginning, I was also questioning why would we use gitbook for instance instead of other document platforms that are easir to use and come free of charge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"GitBook is the best =)"
What do you like best about GitBook?

I really enjoy using the tool as a technical writer on a daily basis. One of my standout feature is the automatic saving of changes, which provides a sense of security, ensuring that I never lose any edits. I've also noticed the tool's continuous improvement, adding new shortcuts to building blocks like hints and images. As a technical writer, I can work more effectively and produce high-quality content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

Sometimes when I'm writing on a page with multiple images and media files, I get the "Unexpected Error Occurred" too many times -- I understand that it is because of the heavy files, but maybe the infrastructure could be improved somehow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Build beautiful, complete web documents with ease. Excellent app."
What do you like best about GitBook?

Gitbook is an excellent web app. I use it to build educational and technical content. It always me to focus on the content and it handles all the web, layout, and presentation. I like the built-in navigation best. Readers of my content can easily navigate back and forth. This is important to me for my educational modules where users need to go step by step through the reading. It's extremely easy to use and supports all the layout types I need. I also like the integration with drawing apps, youtube, github, and a whole host of other integrations that I haven't used it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

Gitbook is a superb tool. There is no deal breaker problem for me. There are a few minor improvements that could be made. When I'm spending hours editing a page, Gitbook can start to lag. I simply have to refresh the web browser and I'm back in business. I would also like the ability to resize drawings (You can resize images but not in-line drawings you create). I would also like the ability to highlight code in the code snippets block. Overall, Gitbook is 99% of the way there. Great product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great product!!"
What do you like best about GitBook?

・The public settings of the page are wide-ranging. (public/private...) ・The .md files cannot be viewed without linking to Git.

・Headings are moderately constrained, so that even if multiple people edit the document, it can create a unified document.

・Headings (table of contents) on the left side of the screen are easy to read, a feature not found in Quip and others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

While editing a document, it rarely freezes and cannot be edited.

If you don't link to Git, you can't view .md files.

I would like to have the ability to edit md files directly! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
