It also has a nice interface for when we are sharing the documents outside the company for customers to see, as it looks way more professional than for instance sharing google docs. **What do you dislike about GitBook?** It's a little confusing and not intuitive to use at first. It always me to focus on the content and it handles all the web, layout, and presentation. I like the built-in navigation best. Readers of my content can easily navigate back and forth. This is important to me for my educational modules where users need to go step by step through the reading. It's extremely easy to use and supports all the layout types I need. I also like the integration with drawing apps, youtube, github, and a whole host of other integrations that I haven't used it. **What do you dislike about GitBook?** Gitbook is a superb tool. There is no deal breaker problem for me. There are a few minor improvements that could be made. When I'm spending hours editing a page, Gitbook can start to lag. I simply have to refresh the web browser and I'm back in business. I would also like the ability to resize drawings (You can resize images but not in-line drawings you create). I would also like the ability to highlight code in the code snippets block. Overall, Gitbook is 99% of the way there. It allows me to send web links directly to students and they can learn. It has made me much more productive in developing my courses. ### 5. (public/private...) ・The .md files cannot be viewed without linking to Git. ・Headings are moderately constrained, so that even if multiple people edit the document, it can create a unified document. ・Headings (table of contents) on the left side of the screen are easy to read, a feature not found in Quip and others. **What do you dislike about GitBook?** While editing a document, it rarely freezes and cannot be edited. If you don't link to Git, you can't view .md files. As the "audience," I was quickly impressed with the simple and clean presentation of the content I was reviewing. As we'd always lacked simple user documentation, and hated the help desk integrations with our web site's CMS, I decided to pilot GitBook the next day. I had a very solid site up and running in mere hours starting from nothing. I really didn't have to find any work arounds - what I wanted to communicate could just happen since the platform handled everything I wanted - demo videos, screenshots, tips, narratives, cross links. Linking to our domain was simple as well. GitBook was intuitive and I did not really need to go into documentation. In addition to the combination of simplicity and clean presentation, having a commit-based versioning system is quite helpful and easy for our dev team to understand. I've found that GitBook solves the problem of creating documentation sites efficiently - no unneccesary extras and nothing really missing. I'm an evangelizer internally for the product. **What do you dislike about GitBook?** There is nothing major missing or getting in the way. My dislikes are all small - make commit messages more prominent in the workflow, a little more layout customization for pages with more visual content. **What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed to create an outward-facing user documentation page for our product's users. We'd tried to handle this using our marketing website hosted platform, but found integrated tools a combination of clunky and missing features. GitBook really reduces friction between the content we have and the site we want users to experience. The visual editor and extended Markdown really helps to create useful documentation at speed without having to learn extra syntax. Easily uploading (or jus pasting) and inserting images is a real time saver. Being able to publish docs on a subdomain without having to set up your own hosting is great. Syncing to Git is a great backup! **What do you dislike about GitBook?** With large and complex documents it can sometimes slow down, and with complex uses such as API definitions it can be a little finichky. This allows us to have many drafts in the works from team members and then edit and post/update content as soon as it is ready. By having the advantage of version control in our documentation, we can have the best of both worlds of quantity and quality of work, and give students and interns opportunities to improve their writing and communication skills, as well as provide valuable help to other students who are learning web development. The pricing options are fair, and it was a big help to be able to apply for a free plan upgrade as a Non-Profit org! **What do you dislike about GitBook?** I have not really run into much that I dislike about Gitbook so far, I feel like the platform is pretty straightforward (as someone who already uses Git and GitHub for software development). Better in UX than Notion **What do you dislike about GitBook?** one of the only thing we were facing issues is the versioning : we wanted to know what version users used to have 3 months earlier, without possibility to export it. A Really nice improvement would be to have a changelog. **What problems is GitBook solving and how is that benefiting you?** It solves the problem of sharing the "how to implement things on the website" with multiple developpement teams. OpenAPI) and found that many companies we admire used Gitbook. It's been an incredibly user-friendly tool that allows collaborative access across various teams. It is also easy to make and approve content edits with branched change requests, which has been a lifesaver. Finally, their powerful search feature has been very helpful for customers to self-serve information that was previously difficult to find. We were looking for a tool where the content could be portable, written in a simple markdown format, and editable both on the tool and directly on GitHub. Further, we did not want to take the burden of hosting the documentation site. Gitbook provided us with all of these and much more. The latest version of Gitbook has rich features to embed various content types. The look and feel of the documentation is neat and modern. Feature to embed and edit draw.io diagrams directly without having to save draw.io diagrams as .svg and upload them separately. 2.
