"My Experience"
What do you like best about GitBook?

Wow, what a gem GitBook is! Ever since I stumbled upon it, the way I approach documentation has taken a complete turn. First off, that super intuitive interface... it's like they read my mind. Writing in Markdown feels so seamless, and seeing my changes instantly? Just awesome.

And then there's the GitHub integration! I'm a huge GitHub junkie, and the fact that I can sync my repos with GitBook without a hitch is just stellar. It's like having the best of both worlds: the robustness of GitHub and the sleekness of GitBook.

If you're anything like me and love having everything well-documented but without the fuss, you should totally give GitBook a shot. You won't regret it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

You know, I've tried to find something I might not like about GitBook, just to give a balanced view. I've nitpicked, looked at it from every angle, and even compared it with other platforms. But honestly? I'm coming up short. Every feature, every integration, even the user interface it all just clicks for me. It's one of those rare platforms where I genuinely enjoy every bit of it. So, if there's a downside, it's that I can't find anything to critique! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Collaboration and Information Sharing Made Possible by GitBook"
What do you like best about GitBook?

One of the most outstanding aspects of GitBook that I'd like to highlight is how it facilitates collaboration between diverse groups. In our work, we deal with regulators and tech policy makers, individuals who come from different backgrounds and have varying levels of technical proficiency. GitBook's easy-to-use features have made it incredibly simple for all our collaborators to participate in the creation and editing process.

The platform's real-time editing feature enables multiple people to work on the same document simultaneously, making collaboration effortless. The comment functionality allows for instant feedback and discussions right within the document, which is especially valuable when dealing with complex regulatory matters and technical policies.

Additionally, GitBook's user-friendly interface doesn't require extensive technical skills, making it accessible to all our collaborators, whether they are tech-savvy or not. This ease of use has facilitated smooth and effective communication among all the stakeholders involved in our project, making GitBook an indispensable tool in our work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

While GitBook offers many benefits, there are a few areas where it could be improved. For instance, the platform lacks advanced formatting options. This can sometimes limit the customization of our content and make it challenging to create complex layouts.

However, it's important to note that these issues are relatively minor when compared to the overall utility and ease of use of the platform. Despite these areas for improvement, GitBook remains an excellent tool for collaborative documentation and knowledge sharing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Really great for technical documenation"
What do you like best about GitBook?

We use GitBook for both internal and external technical documentation. The visual editor and extended Markdown really helps to create useful documentation at speed without having to learn extra syntax.

Easily uploading (or jus pasting) and inserting images is a real time saver.

Being able to publish docs on a subdomain without having to set up your own hosting is great. Syncing to Git is a great backup! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

With large and complex documents it can sometimes slow down, and with complex uses such as API definitions it can be a little finichky.

The image gallery is a little lacking ie would be great to be able to see which images are not used in docs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great documentation tool"
What do you like best about GitBook?

Lightweigth; easy editing (we got something fixed and online in seconds while talking with a customer); good collaboration features and github sync is great!

Tested some diffferent online tools and this was much better! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

There were times it didnt improved a lot, but lately pace came up and we see new things more and more.

Tables and pdf exporting still need some work. Wouuld be nice to have an offline html version we can handoff to some dark site customers (which is way better than pdf...) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"I would like to see the free tier extended a bit further."
What do you like best about GitBook?

What I liked most about GitBook is its simplicity and user-friendly design. GitBook has made creating documents and documentation incredibly easy. The ability to write content in Markdown format, in particular, makes the editing process smooth and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

Limitations on the Free Plan: One of the notable drawbacks is the relatively strict limitations on the free plan. For larger projects or businesses, the need to upgrade to a paid plan can be a significant cost factor. This could be a concern for smaller projects or those with budget constraints. "Great tools for our team"
What do you like best about GitBook?

It allow our team to keep all our technical data organized and centralized on one place, avoiding the local documentation each dev used to have. Besides the fact of having profiles and keeping a access level for the doc it's very useful, so people that doesn't have to see somethin special, just simply are able to see it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

Right now I don't see any downside or trouble with the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fantastic solution for documentations"
What do you like best about GitBook?

GitBook allows us to create beautiful documentation very quickly and to save our internal knowledge. In the process, we also appreciate the collaboration functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

The solution is already almost perfect 👍. From our point of view, there is still some potential in the area of localisation (e.g. support for further languages). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
