We use GitBook for The Holistic Care to build and maintain our public Knowledge & Resource Centre. What I appreciate most is the combination of a clean documentation experience with Git-based content management. We have been able to create a large structured knowledge base covering mindfulness, children and schools, research, courses, wellbeing practices, FAQs, safety guidance and developer resources, while keeping the content connected to GitHub through Git Sync. GitBook also works very well for the direction in which documentation is evolving. Search, machine-readable content, Markdown access and MCP-related capabilities make it useful not only for human readers but also for AI assistants and other knowledge-retrieval systems. The custom-domain and branding capabilities have also allowed us to make the Knowledge Centre feel like a genuine part of The Holistic Care ecosystem rather than a separate documentation site

Gitbook is the only place to create markdown-based git-synced docs with a WYSIWYG editor. It was trivial to setup and use. It integrates well Git. However the performance of the editor can be laggy even on a laptop, especially when there are images. The free pricing of Community Edition was perfect for hosting my educational project. Support from Rodrigo on the support team was quick and helpful.

Git Sync. The MemoryString docs live in GitHub like the rest of the product, and the public site stays in sync. It looks like real documentation, not a leftover README, which matters for a free app with no upsells. Works amazingly well, integration in gitbook is easy and seamless, they really did a good job
